I'm chatty today, so here is another topic.
What do you think is the most overdone image or word/phrase in scrapping?
My pick for phrase: Best Day Ever. I had a Best Day Ever wood phrase that I used for a page and the person in the photo asked me if it was really the "best day ever". I had to say "no, I just needed to use up that piece." Ha!
My pick for image: Vintage red pickup truck with whatever season it is stuff in the back- Christmas tree, pumpkins, etc. I love vintage red pickup trucks but it is getting ridiculous.
What are your picks?

I’m mostly an Ali Edwards user so I’m going to say story. Too much “story.” 😂❤️

Hello. I’m also really over Bloom & Grow in every spring collection
Ditto pickups. Now they’re hauling carrots and Easter eggs.

I just purged a ton of best day ever, bloom, and hello from my stash, so there's my answer.
I'm also kind of over every summer embellishment has to have the word sun, or summer on it. It's like designers got a hold of a thesaurus and just use every phrase with those two words on them repeatedly. I also had at least seven or eight "life is better in flip flops," in my stash. I love flip flops but not that much.
And my final grump is the bikini, swimsuit, or swim trunks without a person in it. Probably because I am too literal and don't know how to use it without the page being about swimsuit shopping. We don't leave those in the yard and walk into the house naked, so they don't end up on my pages...
Apparently, it sounds like I hate everything summer, I don't, summer is my favorite season to scrap.

"Best Day Ever" for sure. Also "Bloom & Grow".
Flowers and butterflies on everything spring or summer. Don't get me wrong, I love looking at alot of the florals. And I own WAY too many butterfly dies. They work wonderfully for cards to friends. Not so much for scrapping my active dgk's.
I have not used my vintage truck dies much, but am still in love with it. Hmmm... eggs and carrots in the truck box? That sounds fun.

Best Day Ever. I personally hate "hustle" "girl boss".
Airplane icons. How many airplane icons can you use up? I'm getting ready of a bunch with my recent vacation in Arizona. Maybe I will seek them all out and get rid of them on one layout. I did do another epic running thru Charlotte airport AGAIN.

Phrase, specifically for travel: All who wander are not lost. I mean, seriously, come up with something else!
Overused icon: flowers. Not EVERY collection needs them, and I don’t need flowers sprouting from other icons either, like from computers or books or typewriters. Totally makes them unusable.

I agree with 'Best Day Ever', unless it's a page about your wedding day or the birth of your child! But I am considering using it for photos from when we took the dogs to the beach a couple of weeks ago. Because any day the dogs are at the beach really is the "best day ever" for them. I get what some of you are saying about words like today, hello, the story, right now, currently, good vibes only etc, but those words work well for my PL pages. I would love to come up with some other generic words that I can use instead, so any suggestions, please throw them my way!

Add my vote for bloom and grow and shine bright, or any variation of those. I agree a lot of the phrases in travel collections are so overdone, things like "first class" could happily go away, but it's the icons that really frustrate me. I'd be happy to never see another aeroplane, Eiffel Tower, vespa, beetle or other vehicle with luggage stacked on the roof, hotel key tag, or suitcase in a collection again. I get what some of you are saying about words like today, hello, the story, right now, currently, good vibes only etc, but those words work well for my PL pages. I also like these types of words/phrases for my PL pages.

Best day ever, bloom grow, and almost every word/phrase for travel. There has GOT to be a new way to describe a vacation. I don’t mind summer/fall/autumn/winter…on ONE or TWO pieces in a collection, but not only do they have about 10 things per sticker sheet/die cut/chipboard piece/sticker book, they have more in all of the other embellishments, AND they have some of the exact same images in all 3-4 different types of embellishments. So, say they have heart eye sunglasses on the 12x12 sticker sheet…they also have it in the die cuts, chipboard and sticker book. That limits what I buy because I will not be using that pair of sunglasses on four different LO’s or four different ways on one. That means, I will only buy 1-2 embellishment types and not the full collection.

"Let's get lost" in a travel collection...nope, sorry but the last thing I want to do on vacation (or any trip) is get lost! And it's in so many collections.

I do many travel themed projects and I don't think I've ever used that phrase. Getting lost is the last thing I want to have happen too.

Not only does the industry predictably use the same tired sentiments/icons for the same themes on a loop, but also includes them on all products within a collection (e.g. patterned papers, flat/foam/puffy/layered stickers, ephemera, journaling cards, chipboard, washi, brads, stamps). Like cbscrapper , I especially dislike the overabundance of florals. Some collections (especially spring themed, Maggie Holmes, Paige Evans, etc) are entirely floral, while others - regardless the theme - include multiple floral patterned papers, flowers throughout embellishments, floral only diecut packs, etc....ugh!

Bloom Where You Are Planted Wild and Free Good Stuff/Good Life Shine Wander (From baby lines) - Dream Big Love You to the Moon and Back Icon - bicycles (particularly with flower baskets). I totally agree about Shine. I hate it. I do not understand why that is a thing. I agree about the bicycles with flower baskets, too. So overdone. It was on stuff 15 years ago and it will just not go away. I have a soft spot for Love You to the Moon and Back, though. I had it hanging on the wall of my nephews' room and it reminds me of them and makes my heart happy. There is only so many times you can use it, though. That limits what I buy because I will not be using that pair of sunglasses on four different LO’s or four different ways on one. That means, I will only buy 1-2 embellishment types and not the full collection. Yes! I'd be more likely to buy a whole collection if they would vary the icons and words. I either buy the stickers or the diecuts for a line because they overlap so much. Sometimes the chipboard and the stickers are exactly the same. Wild Whisper is particularly bad about this. Their diecuts consist of the same image/phrase in different sizes. I wanted to use several diecuts in an embellishment cluster and I couldn't find enough variety to do it.

I am currently scrapbooking photos from Colorado, and I am very tired of the phrase "the mountains are calling and I must go."
Ok. So go already! And take your silly quote with you. 😄

I am currently scrapbooking photos from Colorado, and I am very tired of the phrase "the mountains are calling and I must go." Ok. So go already! And take your silly quote with you. 😄 This and the other travel phrases mentioned above like let's get lost, wander.., etc. I would really like some fresh travel words and phrases PLEASE! Too much is repeated across collections. I feel like someone could really sell a new collection if it had different prompts, words, quotes than what we see recycled over and over. Agree with others re bloom, shine, grow - like I can only use those so much. Best Day Ever is also over done. I do like the ones AussieMeg mentioned for the same reason for using in PL. In images, I don't love the trucks either. I think there are too many florals, but I also like some florals, just not a million. I don't need all the punctuation either. I have a million &s, #s, @s!! Enough already.

(From baby lines) - Dream Big I still don't understand why "Dream Big" is in all the baby lines. What does that mean? When I think of dreaming big it would be more appropriate for a graduation from school, dreaming big about their future. Why would a baby dream big?

I don't follow trends, so I have no idea what the current phrases are. But a phrase that drove me insane on YT was "super cute". Every element or project was "super cute" - AAAHHHHHH, 35 times in every darn video. I felt like screaming when I heard it, and imediately left the channel. Thankfully it seems to have pretty much died out these days, I almost never hear it now. Another thing that really bugged me on YT was that finger wave so many YTers used to do. Thankfully that also seems to have pretty much died out. I don't know why it got to me, just one of those irrational irritations.
As for images, I have never understood why papers have random images on them (often with matching stamps). Like foxes or bird cages. They seem to be everywhere for a few months, then disappear and the next random image appears everywhere. I always say to each their own, but I just don't get it.

All of the above. I especially agree with: PaperAngel with regards to repeating the same phrase(s) many many times within a collection. breetheflea about summer collections. DH and I travel to warm weather places in the spring and fall but a lot of the pool/beach lines are summer, summer, summer.
