Just a Sunday fluff thread—
Where do you scrap? Do you have a dedicated scrap room?
I have a small home office, which is literally right off the living room, that houses my scrap supplies. However, I have a standing desk on wheels that I actually scrap on. And I move it into the living room to scrap. I don’t like scrapping in complete isolation and I like to watch tv while I scrap. The standing desk is small, so I gather my supplies I am using and scatter them on the ground or on the bed in my office.

I have half of a room that stores all my scrappy stuff but I mostly scrap in the living room so I can watch TV on the big screen. We just set up one of our monitors with a Roku stick so we can watch shows in the office as well so hopefully I'll scrap in there more. I would like to get a standing desk because that works so much better for me. Do you mind sharing what kind of standing desk you have?

My craft/work space is in the nook at the top of the stairs. I have 2 walls and then the sliding window to the upstairs deck. One side has my PC desk and printers and the other side has my craft desk, shelves, etc.

This is the one I have. I actually got work to buy it for me at the start of the pandemic 😂 That's the best way to get one! It looks exactly like what I want, I'd be able to bring it into the living room when I need it and it's adjustable height wise too! How sturdy is it, does it wiggle around a lot when you're working on it or is it pretty stable? (sorry to hijack your post, I've been looking for a long time for an adjustable height standing desk and have questions!)

It’s actually really heavy too, so when it’s all folded up it’s difficult to move it around. I don’t remember it being that expensive when I first got it, but who knows. I use it daily and it’s held strong!

And I can have the door open. Behind us is orange groves. So there is a lovely smell winter and spring. It is also in an open space where I can hear ds and keep an eye on him.

I have a dedicated craft room. But sometimes I do it in the family room, but only if no one else is around except my dog.

I'm fortunate to have a spare bedroom in the basement. If I have a friend over we both take one table. But, normally if it's just me I move my chair inside the U shape and scrap facing the TV. I'll put a movie or YouTube video on for company. During the last SCT card class, we moved the tables around and pulled in a small folding table. We put the TV on the folding table in front of the peg board. It was cozy, but it worked. I would love to have a larger room with space for a big table along the center so I could easily have friends over more often.

cmpeter - your space is my dream space! I'd have to kick out my family and add onto our house to get a space like that.

We have a large spare bedroom upstairs that I share as my craft room. It has a nice size closet for storage which is nice. The only person whoever stayed with us was my mom and she just moved within a block of us and doesn’t need to stay over. So now I’m thinking of getting rid of the queen sized bed to completely take over the space. These days the majority of my scrapping is done at retreats tho. Two small kids make it difficult to get much done at home but I’m hoping to change that this year. I’m in the middle of a huge reorganization. Great room cmpeter I have that exact same U shaped desk setup from Ikea. It’s wonderful!

Great thread title, scrappyrabbit. Love the look of your space, cmpeter, and have to admit to a certain amount of scraoriim envy... But if I had a space that large, I would just mess it up until all I had to work on would be one little 12" wide square of desk top. It's how I roll. Scrapping has taken over a small office that is between the living room and the bedroom. A few years ago I had a cabinet maker come in to measure for, design and build a storage system for me. I have a corner pantry style cupboard, too standing counters and shelving for my albums, plus a corner sit down desk for my computer with shelving above it for office supplies.

I have a scrap room! It’s smallish - maybe 12x10. It’s not really positioned in a way that allows the space to be maximized, but I’m so grateful to have it. It used to be husband’s office, but it inexplicably drops calls constantly in that location, so he stopped using it. I eventually made it mine. During pandemic it became homeschool central, but now that my last pupil is back in public school it’s all mine again. It’s in desperate need of a big reorganization and rearrangement. I still have a lot of school stuff occupying my storage spaces.

I have a U-shaped desk in the basement. The vast majority of it is covered with supplies as is the floor around it, and I scrap on the pullout tray intended for a keyboard. Lately though, I've been scrapping on a different table that we had set up with a large monitor for my oldest to do online schooling on during the 2020-21 school year and my youngest to do homework on the last two years. I used it for DD and now am using it for DS's German trip album. It gives me space to set out supplies specifically for the current project without disrupting my usual set up at my regular table.

I am blessed to finally have a room for scrapbooking/sewing/genealogy/etc... officially it's the living room/front room right off the foyer (no door - just a double wide opening) but we have a family room that works better for that purpose for us.
Before that? I had a desk and table set up in an L in the (open plan) family room in our last house, the house before that I sewed and scrapped at the kitchen table (we didn't have a dining room so it had to be cleared off to eat...and also to homeschool).

I have a home office that was my scrap room when I used to paper scrap. When I first started digital scrapping, I did it on my PC in the office. I bought a MacBook in 2019 that I use for scrapping now, so I scrap anywhere and anytime. Usually in the lounge room or outside if the weather is nice.

I pretty much only scrap at crops. I go to about 2-3 a month and a retreat or convention about 5 times a year.

In my scrap room. It is a large extra bedroom downstairs. It has a magical walk in closet. I have it set up with 4 Alex drawers and two desktops. If someone comes to scrap with me, I can move over a drawer and a tabletop for space for two. Alex Desk by Nancy Tim, on Flickr

My scrap studio is 14' X 18'. Today it is so disheveled I have a hard time to find anything. Over the past couple of years I have just stacked stuff in there, waiting for an opportunity to do some crafting. Now that the Queen has left (to a much better situation than I could provide) I will be able to spend time out there. First I have to get the house back in order. I am going to have a garage sale after I sort thru everything. Here are 3 photos of my space from BC (before covid). https://www.flihttps://www.flickr.com/photos/22190803@N07/50567843527/in/dateposted-public/ ckr.com/photos/22190803@N07/50567709926/in/dateposted-public/ www.flickr.com/photos/22190803@N07/50567843182/in/dateposted-public/

Previous home I scrapped in a corner of my bedroom, home before that I had a room in the basement and a closet in the hallway and a closet near the laundry. Basically stuff was everywhere, wherever it fit so I rarely scrapped unless ex was on a business trip.
This home I have a full library/studio. I guess it was a family room but I don’t have family living here so studio it is. I’m loving the space, I desperately need more organization though. What worked in my little corner needs tweeking here.

I am in a studio apt. I have a scrapbook area in a corner.
I have three tiered rolling carts, that hold 14 x 18 cafeteria trays (the trays extend past the edge of the cart, and I am fine with that) that I scrapbook on. I put my paper cutter on my dining table, when I am actively scrapbooking. The majority of my supplies are in 13 x 13 plastic envelopes by theme(stickers and embellishments, themed related paper), pattern or color (paper and cardstock). The plastic envelopes go in rolling file carts. The carts reside in a storage closet(I can retrieve what I want or roll the whole cart over to my area. I like everything to be on wheels, so it's easy to pull the carts out, then put the carts away.

I have a room in our house. It’s located in what is supposed to be the dining room. It’s an open concept type layout, and has 2.5 walls, the other 1.5 “walls” are a walkway between the living room & family room and then to the front entryway. One of the 2.5 walls is mostly a window. So while it’s technically a room, it functions more like half a room, hah!

I have a combined working from home office and scrap room. This is my office, my DH has his own, which houses his work from home set up and his gaming consoles. It's not massive, originally a bedroom without any wardrobes, and while I'd love the extra storage space, I like my set up in here and the bathroom is right next door so I'm only have a dozen steps away from running water.

We have a spare bedroom that I have seconded as my scrapping room. It has a mish-mash of furniture that isn't ideal. When I retire next month I am planning to make some changes. Will be buying pre-loved furniture though as I have zero ability to assemble things .

I scrapbook in the room formally known as the dining room. All along, it also had our pantry closet & cabinet and since COVID has become my WFH space as well.
