I would absolutely love to have one, but I don't understand how to keep it from falling down stairs. We have kind of s sunken living room that would cause problems on the first floor, and the the stairs upstairs - the top is so open. How do you get around that? It is programmed to not fall off a cliff of any kind. There's no need to do anything to prevent it.

It got caught on all of our rugs This is why I don't have one. To be honest, I wouldn't run it while I was gone because I have seen SO's lose it's mind and get stuck in places. If I had one, I would run it while I was there and pick up the rugs. But between that and my small place, I can't justify the $100+

atomicdog They have a sensor that keeps them from "going over a cliff" as ours will report if it gets stuck. It's good technology, and ours has never tumbled down stairs.

Ours has never tumbled down the stairs or gotten caught in an area rug. But, if the guest bathroom door is open, she has been known to get stuck behind the door. Dhs’s office is nearby and he hears when she starts and makes sure to shut the bathroom door.

If I had one, I would run it while I was there and pick up the rugs. But between that and my small place, I can't justify the $100+ If your rugs have tassels this is definitely an issue. My parents have all oriental rugs and they just tuck the tassels under. But I get that may not be an acceptable option for everyone. If you have very thin rugs they may get caught just because the rug will get bunched up. All our thin rugs have rubber on the underside and we don't have issues. We had an old dumb one for may years and it finally died. Our new smart one does better about not getting stuck since you can easily block off areas in the app. But it is not perfect and it happens. I HATE vacuuming so the cost is worth it. Especially with a shedding dog and cat in the house and 2 messy kids. Ours goes 1-2x a day, every day.

Thank you to all who replied. I am looking at two different ones. But the costs is crazy. What to do what to do. MadamG2U
