Oh my gosh, I have no idea why I held off so long. I have two cats, one with medium fur and one with long fur and both shed like nobodies business for 6 months of the year. Plus, their litter box is in the laundry room, right next to the front door. Between the tracked litter and the fur, I was sweeping at least once daily, and vacuuming the living room area rug every few days as well. What I hated the most, was coming downstairs in the morning and seeing fur and litter everywhere. So a friend recommended this one (NOT an affiliate link): smile.amazon.com/eufy-BoostIQ-Super-Thin-Self-Charging-Medium-Pile/dp/B079QYYGF1/ref=pd_aw_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0?pd_rd_w=XfGHe&content-id=amzn1.sym.07081e2a-c82a-4414-ba67-d1ea4791ec44&pf_rd_p=07081e2a-c82a-4414-ba67-d1ea4791ec44&pf_rd_r=BJN1E4QVKPE2NB0WZ2MQ&pd_rd_wg=Oqe0X&pd_rd_r=e2e80b09-7fa4-4c54-a7a4-1b7dbd2f2f8e&pd_rd_i=B079QYYGF1And it had a $60 off coupon, so was $139. I figured I’d try it and if I hated it, I’d return it. It runs at 2am, doesn’t bother me at all. Oh my gosh, my last few mornings have been heavenly! Clean floors while i make my coffee and all that. You guys, if you haven’t tried one, you really ought to! While it’s pretty basic (not a roomba or other really fancy $$ one), I still LOVE it and already can’t imagine life without it. Plus it gets under pieces of furniture that are difficult to reach with a broom. For those who have a robo-vac, do you love yours too? And because I’m curious, what brand do you have? What feature does yours have that you feel you couldn’t do without? Lastly, I feel like I need to name it, and I’m not very creative or clever with naming things. so if you have any ideas, I’m all ears!

I have the entry-level roomba, which I replaced with another entry-level roomba. Three cats, new dog, six messy kids, and a husband who is a complete slob and who grew up with a live-in housekeeper; it's not optional.

I’ve had many robo vacs over the years. I currently have two of the vacuum you linked. I’m very happy with them.
My house isn’t large - but I have two big dogs and also hate fur on the floors.
I’ve opted to stay with the lower end models because I can’t justify the cost difference. My vacs are taking a beating considering how much fur they pick up and how often they run. Even though I clean them and replace some parts regularly, they eventually just stop working efficiently. I wouldn’t be happy replacing replacing a 700 plus vacuum every few years.
I have had the best luck with Eufy, ECOVACS and roomba.

DH got me an irobot vacuum and a Braava mop for Christmas. I love them - the vacuum a little more than the mop but I think that's because a) I haven't run the mop as often so she's still learning the layout and b) she needs a bit more hands-on (filling the tank, cleaning the reusable pad) and can only got INTO my dining room but not back out.
The vacuum is Rosie (after the maid in the Jetsons) and the mop is Eva after Wall-E's friend EVE.
We're down to 4 cats, have a mix of carpet and 'wood' floors, and I have some mobility issues - the robots make such a difference.

Just so I have some idea of how long Roombas last (and will compare it to the Robo-Vac I have) could you tell me how long you had your 1st Roomba before it conked out? And an estimate of how a week it was used? Thanks!

I wouldn’t use one enough to justify the purchase, but who knew?!? I love the name Rosie, it’s absolutely perfect! I’ll have to go down the memory highway to see if any other TV/movie maids’ names stick out to me. There’s Alice from the Brady Bunch, and probably a slew of others. Thanks for giving me some direction 😃

I have a Eufy upstairs and it goes back to its charger when it is full (about an hour). It was my first one and he is called Eufy. He has a big googly eye right above the finger catch for emptying the dust bin. I run him 2/3 times a week. He's on the level that the dogs sleep, so he gets a good workout. He works with a remote, but isn't on an app. I have an iRobot Shark on the main level. It is self emptying, runs empties, runs empties, and recharges and then repeats two more times. His bottom side is rubber and doesn't get clogged up on the spinning bits like the Eufy does. (twice the cost of the Eufy). This one takes several hours to fully run, but I set it for when I am at work 3 times a week and then one on the weekend. His name on my app is Left Shark. My best vacuum is the lower level with all of the carpet. He's old, but super thorough and does all of the furniture too. He can get the lower level done in 25 minutes and then cleans the toilets.

We bought a Shark (named Mako) last July, and it's the first robot vac we've owned. We got it to keep up with cat fur as one of our two cats would try to eat any fur she found on the floor. She passed away in December, and it's rarely used now. We also have a cordless stick Dyson, which I absolutely hate. The cat we have left is scared of Mako, so I use the Dyson most often.

This time, the error message required replacing a part that cost more than the roomba :/.

We called our Shark vac SharkBoy as the kids watched that movie a lot growing up for some reason. So it just flowed out of my mouth like muscle memory.
Funny thing is my eldest named theirs the same thing, like minds! Lol
I haven't used mine in a while as the old boy dog did.not. like it and I didn't want to bother him in his old age.
I should set it up again now that he's no longer with us. 🌈

We bought a Roomba a couple of years ago. My thought was to have it run at night, but my husband is a light sleeper, and that didn't work. Fine, I’ll run it during the day while he’s at work, except then COVID happened and he worked from home.
It got caught on all of our rugs (I tend to get ones with fringe) and would also get hung up on our dining room chairs because of how the legs are. We didn’t have a mapping one, so it would just sort of bounce off walls like a ping pong ball, and even though it was the “pet” one and was running daily, it couldn’t keep up with the fur from our two dogs, so I was still vacuuming two or three times a week. He wanted to return it, and I said no, but I was just being stubborn and couldn’t admit I was wrong. We put it away for a while and I pulled it back out when he went back to work in the office, and it wouldn’t stay on the dock to charge.
Absolutely the worst money we ever spent, but I will deny that in front of my husband.

I can't imagine calling her anything except Hazel Hazel (TV series) - Wikipediahttps://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Hazel_(TV_series) Hazel is an American sitcom about a spunky live-in maid named Hazel Burke (played by Shirley Booth) and her employers, the Baxters Now if your Robo-Vac happens to be male then George would be my choice. "Let George do it" is an English idiom of the 20th century, recommending that some (unspecified) person rather than oneself should perform a given task.

We have the same one as you. I LOVE it. We’ve had it nearly a year. Runs every day. I put it upstairs at least once a week. Worth every penny (like you, I bought it when it was on offer). Three or four adults live here, no pets but a big area. My floors have never been so clean. It runs at 11 each morning so that dh - who works from home - gets a reminder to stop for a tea break. We used to have a cleaner come every fortnight so ours is named Hayley after her…

I have a basic shark robotic vacuum. I have a lot of stairs and small rooms. I have no idea how to program the thing. I like sweeping all the crap from the family room into my son's room, close the door and let it go until it dies. I've had issues with it catching on rugs and getting stuck in small areas. I prefer to be awake when it's running in certain rooms.

I have a basic level Shark robot vacuum that I love! It forces me to keep things off the floor because it’s set to run every other day. It’s also great entertainment for my toddler, he will chase it around the house. Our house is mostly hardwood with some carpet and it doesn’t get caught up on our rugs. I do have to carry it down to our playroom because there’s a couple stairs there but it’s no biggie.

It ran into my older pup who just slowly got up and walked a way a few feet and then went onto our second more reactive pup who just scooted away from it. Neither dog was at all reactive to the encounter. Neither one like the human run vacuum though.

Something to consider if you're letting it run overnight unattended--whether your pets have the run of the area during that time. I recall hearing about a pet's having gotten diarrhea ahead of the unattended, scheduled run of the auto-vac, & it spread that horror everywhere it ran after encountering the "accident."

I think you should get commission as I think I’m going to try it. My son vacuums but doesn’t do the best job and I have a stick vac that I use downstairs in the kitchen and in the area rugs but this might be nice as I could set it up to run more often snd then just touch up as needed down stairs .
