popping in quickly to say hi. DD16 had a wonderful time on her backpacking trip to Cumberland Island - she took loads of great photos! DH and I did a ranger-led hike at a local state park today - abt 2hrs long - weather was beautiful, the park was beautiful - just a lovely time. We stopped in a HL in the city yesterday and they were tearing apart the papercrafts section - I asked if they were re-setting and was told it was shrinking by 2 aisles disappointing.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! I spent the weekend playing with my Crop & Create goodies, but NOT doing the prep work for this upcoming weekend. We received several different stencils, some of them in layering sets, so I had some fun with a couple of them. Have another set out now and working on figuring out an Easter card I can create. (I did NOT cave on the cute Easter card kits that are attacking my e-mail, but to keep myself strong I am figuring out how to use the sets I already have). I have an idea of what I want, but so far it has not gelled into an actual card front... Also stowing pages the printer has finished with and returned back into their albums. Three years done so far... Tomorrow I am heading to a larger center, so have a list of a few things I "need", including water colour paper. Will be stopping at Michaels and the LSS. Also Staples business supply store for magnetic sheets to keep track of all the little die sets in that Crop & Create box. The best part of the day will be meeting up with justjac for our monthly book club meeting. Linda, I hear ya about the shrinking scrapbooking/paper crafting aisles of the big box stores. Sad that they stayed in our market until they drove so many small shops out of business and NOW they are moving on? So glad we still have some LSS's left here to shop at. It was good to see gramma and kitbop and justjac and shinyhappytina for the bit I was signed on to the crop this past weekend. Wondering how you are doing, nylene. Have not heard from you here since your dental appointment last Wednesday.

Good morning all! grammadee - sounds like you've had a fun and productive crafty weekend. Enjoy the trip to see justjac and the LSS tomorrow. It's been years since I've seen an LSS - I think our last one closed in 2015/2016 DD16 is on spring break this week and we'll start the week off with a dr visit this afternoon for her hay fever...it's going to be a bit of process as she has to be there 40 minutes early for a covid test in the parking lot before they'll see her.

joyfulnana, I am sorry about your DS’s relapse. He’s very smart to just hop back on. Getting back to sobriety and having remorse will make him stronger with the next temptations. Hugs to him and you! grammadee, I love your St. Patrick’s card. That stitched rainbow is gorgeous. What wonderful dies! Be careful in your journeys. Are you still getting snow? I look forward to seeing your Easter cards. My dental appt was a quick in and out. We have just had a lot going last week and weekend. kellyr21, Happy Belated Birthday to Ron. I hope you were able to do something fun. I am love, love, loving all your layouts. So glad to see you scrapping again! I really like Paige Evans’ designs. You do great things with them. shinyhappytina, I am so sorry I missed you on the weekend crop. We had plans with friends and didn’t get home in time. I’m glad that Mallory and her DH will be living close. I hope she gets the grad program she wants. Is Olivia living near you? How did things go with your Legislature? I don’t know what has happened to so many of our reps. They are doing some really dumb things. Drives me crazy! gramma, I love your pages. That rain page is just sad! We, too, have been needing water and have had tons of snow. Our concern is that the weather will quickly warm and the 40 ft of snow in the mountains will all come down at once. It did that in 1983 and we were in trouble. SLC had to sandbag the biggest downtown street and it became a huge river. It was several weeks before the water went down and the street could be reused. It’s good to see you scrapping. Linda, I am sad about the loss of many scrapbook supplies in the big box stores. I wish we still had some local places. How did your knee tolerate a 2 hour hike? It must be doing better, thank heavens. I’m glad your DD had a good outing. kitbop, so glad your Disney trip is all planned. I hope you have a wonderful trip. I saw you have posted some new pages but I haven’t had a minute to look at them. I’ll get myself over there and enjoy them. knutschen, sending hugs to you! I seem to have lost my scrapping mojo. I have finished a couple of pages, but they are just thrown together and I don’t seem to care. Maybe it’s because I’m not inspired by the photos, or maybe I’m just tired of trying to come up with something new or artsy. So I am doing lots of interactive cards to send to my grands throughout the year.

nylene - hope your mojo comes back...and brings mine with it. I'm sore today but not nearly as much pain as I would have had pre-PT so it's obviously working. DD16 is Covid negative but Flu B positive on top of her allergies. Lucky her.

Happy Monday! Ron had a nice bday and enjoyed a few days of his favorite foods. We got rain yesterday and today but it was light. Hope to get another walk in later now that the weather is a little warmer. I started a tag mini album and will continue working on it this week. nylene- Thanks for the kind cheers about my layouts. I have enjoyed creating them and got to find more pics I can scrap with. Mojo is a funny thing. I am sure yours will return soon. Mine took awhile but is slowly coming back. What you said about pictures is probably true. I need to find some more interesting pictures to help me, too. Good point! grammadee- How exciting you got your goodies for the Crop and Create event. I love that they have all these events for us to learn and have fun. Looking forward to seeing what you learn from the classes. Looks like alot of fun! linda- So happy your hike went well and you had a fantastic time. Go girl! I haven't done a hike in years and I would love to do a shorter one in a wooded area nearby.

Good morning Pokeys! It was so nice to get to see some of you on Saturday to crop together. I spent some time working on my planner this weekend and am getting caught up on it a bit. I think I'm going to try to do week in the life in April when Ali does it, I bought the kit this weekend. I haven't done it in a long time, but I still love the years that I did, so I'm going to try. We have had a crazy few days with the wedding planning for Mallory. She ended up telling us on Saturday that she didn't want to have her wedding in the venue that we rented. She's been really upset about her future MIL taking her wedding from being small and intimate to a much bigger event. So they decided to go out of state to get married...and are moving it up from October to June. So I spent a chunk of Sunday and yesterday trying to help her make that happen. Last night the future MIL called to voice her dismay about the changes with Mallory and her fiance...what a mess. I'm hoping it all works out okay and am just trying to help her make her day special. nylene - I was sorry to miss you too on Saturday, but will see you on a future meet up. Yes, Olivia lives nearby, she also lives near downtown Indy, so she's about 10 minutes away. She comes over just about every Sunday evening for dinner and comes to craft with me pretty regularly. She seems to be getting over the breakup with her boyfriend okay, she still sees him at church every week, but is doing well. Our legislative session has been kind of sad. They are spending their time trying to out do other states by proving how conservative they can be. There are a lot of things they could do that would help the people who live here, but a lot of this feels like it doesn't actually fix problems, it's just for show. I have a legislative dinner tonight with the lawmakers on the family and children's committees, so hopefully we are able to try to get more of them moving to help families. linda and justjac have fun scrapping together. I really miss having a LSS to hang out at. There hasn't been one here in such a long time. kellyr21 - Can't wait to see your mini tag album. You have been making such beautiful things this month! grammadee - Have fun craft shopping today! That sounds like fun. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

shinyhappytina, just reading about Mallory's wedding reminds me of how glad I am that all my children are married. It's really hard when the bride has something in her plans that doesn't fit with what other parties have in mind. It is a fun and exciting time once you get past those difficulties. I'm sure it will be beautiful and she will be a lovely bride. I'm glad Olivia lives close so you can see her often. How did the dinner with the lawmakers go? Our state is doing the exact same thing, following word for word other states' aims to be the most conservative in the nation. Craziness! grammadee, it was good to see you online yesterday. I love how your Color Pops turned out. When does the actual Crop & Create start? Waving at justjac and hoping you have a great time. cycworker, thanks for starting the Crop yesterday. It was nice to see you. kellyr21, I look forward to seeing more of your work. I'm glad to see you making art. I just heard the snowplow go by. I don't think it will ever stop! Yesterday they announced that one ski resort has 58 feet of snow so far this year. Last year they had to keep the snow-making machines going night and day in order to stay open. Some resorts are now planning to stay open into May at least. I'd better quit and get something done. This is the page I did while online with peas yesterday. It's My Mickey

Hi Pokeys - sorry I've been MIA. shinyhappytina - poor Mallory, how awful to have to wrest your wedding from other people's expectations! I'm really glad for her that she took it back, but it's hard to go against family or friends. The MIL has had her wedding and needs to let Mallory have her own! nylene - I love your Mickey/Christmas mashup! What a wonderful job you do with themes, you find the bits and pieces to perfectly accentuate them. I'm so sorry you are still in the freezer. We're mostly above zero now, but it hovers so we still have snow and frigid puddles everywhere. Shoulder season! Linda - I think Flu is worse than Covid personally! Your poor DD. You stay healthy! Your hiking sounds like so much fun - I love guided hikes that give you more information about flora/fauna of the area. Nothing new here. Probably a good thing

kitbop - the sad part is that we took her in to see if we could get something better for her allergies - they tested her before she could go inside the office just because she had respiratory symptoms. As she puts it, you know your allergies are bad when you don't realise you're actually sick. Thankfully she is on the mend AND has new allergy meds. nylene - I love your Christmas Mickey layout - great embellishments! I hope spring comes your way soon! shinyhappytina - poor Mallory! I hope she ends up with the wedding she wants kellyr21 - I'm lucky to have lots of state and county parks nearby (within an hour radius there's probably well over a dozen) and there's often great ranger programming. DH is a disabled Vet so we have free admission to the state parks and the programs are often free (beyond admission to the park)

Love your title! You have love in the gallery. Thanks for posting it here on the Pokey thread. I made a couple more cards to have on hand. I have so many April and May birthdays in my family that I need to prepare early. Pop out Balloons and Flipfold cardThe balloons pop out of the center of the birthday card. The other is a simple flipfold and was fun to make

Hello Pokey's. I'm going to open a crop in a few hours if anyone wants to join. It's been such a busy couple weeks. And it all started with the wild idea of moving those rooms, which was a huge job on it's own, but then throw DS's relapse (and so many of his belongings in my living room!) in there, and then omg a bed bug scare. Scare only thank goodness! But enough scared that I took all the precautions - whilst still trying to move furniture. And on top of all of that, my boss was in town for 3 days last week so he took me to dinner two nights after work. It's been busy and I'm pooped lol. I'm liking the changes so far I think. And I'm still tweaking it all. Abby is still adjusting lol. I'm hoping to move my mojo tonight. I need to make something. shinyhappytina are you in MO? I can never remember if that is you, or @knutshen that lives in Southern MO. I'm in KC and I hate what is happening here. Linda glad DD is on the mend! nylene sweet layout! I love the colors and embellishments. kitbop LOVE that title. You're so good with those. Waving hi to everyone, hope to see some of you tonight even though it's short notice!

kitbop - fun photo and I love the title! nylene - yes- she's feeling better now -thank you - back to school on Monday I love your cards - and smart to get ahead of birthday season joyfulnana - You do sound super busy - and yikes on a bed bug scare (glad it was only a scare). Not sure I can hop on the crop but I'll probably be scrapping tonight - and definitely tomorrow. www.facebook.com/WalldogsHighSpringsFL/this is what we went to today - fun but I'm worn out. We lived in that town two houses ago - left in 2008 - so it was fun to see what was still there and what was new. Drove by the old place - not many changes other than a fence being added but the dirt road has been paved which is wow!

Hello Pokeys. Hope you have a scrappy Saturday night! I have been busy what with dgs and his dad here and also trying to catch some of the Crop & Create classes. Finished a couple of cards today. Having fun learning/practicing new techniques. This is my first time playing with layered stencils and I am enjoying it. We have also been busy the last couple of evenings--once to the monthly Seniors' supper and once to a supper at a neighbouring church.
My scraproom is a mess, with lots of flotsum from diecutting on the floor, and somehow I lost the pin from my bottle of fine line glue. It just flipped out of my fingers when I pulled it out of the tip. Tried using a magnet, but can't seem to locate it. Hoping my bare foot doesn't find it in a day or two when I become less vigilent. Of course the regular pins don't really fit in that fine tip. Hoping the glue doesn't dry up...

Good morning, Pokeys. Hoping you all had a good weekend. Dgs and dad are still here until tomorrow morning, so my weekend continues. After that I can come back here and catch up on the chat.
SCT Crop & Create drew to a close yesterday evening. Have a pile of cards to show for it, but have not watched even half of the classes nor attempted the cards I was really looking forward to. Glad I can go back later and catch what I missed. When I did get some time, I was distracted by a pop up of a YouTube video on how to paint bunnies. Dgs wants to play with inks this morning and make some Easter cards, but I don't think C&C classes will be involved. Not sure if there will be bunnies...
I haven't scrapped a page in a week. Need to have a sample ready for next Saturday's sketch. Hoping to set up a crop Wednesday morning for anyone who is free.

Hi all - just coming out the "other side" of a 7 day work week/weekend. I've been so busy on top of it - there were 2 days when I didn't check the boards at all I think, and that is *odd* for me.
One was Saturday - after work, I threw on some makeup and clothes and we left straight for Toronto - it's a 1 hour drive depending on traffic - went for supper and saw "Hamilton". It was amazing - we were 2 rows from the front and could REALLY see the faces, acting (impressive) and spit. OTOH, the "overall" feel of choreography was lost because our focus was more up close. And the bass speaker was close to us so some of the words of the fast-paced music/rap was lost.
Today, I'm off to visit with my Auntie who has brain cancer and is deteriorating. It's a 1.5 hour drive each way, and we'll only stay for an hour or two, but it's important.
I haven't scrapped in a few days and I'm missing it!

Hello Pokeys! grammadee - hope to make it on the Wed crop if you do one - DD is back to school so the house should be quiet - downside to a craft room with no door is that all the household noise (TV, video games, conversation...) is right there ((((Hugs))) kitbop - sorry about the long week. YAY for Hamilton! I'm glad you're able to go visit your auntie - prayers for her. Today - I need to clean the house after a week of having DD home on break and a busy weekend between our Saturday adventures and scrapping all day yesterday...the house is looking rather neglected. Hoping to get it pulled together enough to scrap this evening (FB crop).

Happy Monday morning to all the Pokeys! It isn't snowing here yet, but it is snowing heavily just north of us. The traffic is backed up for 8 miles and big trucks are stuck off the road in deep snow. I think it is supposed to come this way later this afternoon. Not a good day to run errands. Steve says one on-ramp was so slick that the highway patrol was pushing cars up the hill to get them on the freeway and out of the traffic jam. Will Spring ever really come? Linda, I'm glad your DD is recovered from the flu and can return to school. I'm glad your knee is still doing well. Our DD is involved in some big Girl Scout activities and is really busy. Something about Scouts around the world. Is that going on in your area too? Their council was asked to wait on Cookie Sales because the makers couldn't get all the ingredients. They are just now starting their cookie sales so are busy with that too. What does DD have coming up in GS? I loved seeing all the paintings on the buildings at your former town. Thanks for sharing the link. We have a town in No. Utah that has historic painting on many of the buildings. It's about 2 hours away, but worth the drive. Happy cleaning day to you...that's my plan today too. grammadee, your time with DGS sounds like fun but busy!! I'm eager to see what you have made and learned. You are very brave to try out all the new products. Your lunar paste turned out so nice. Will you start a Wed. crop this week or will you need to be catching up on C&C classes? You piqued my interest in "painting bunnies". Tell or show us more. kitbop, what a week you have had. I'm glad you got to see Hamilton. DS built a beautiful home for a man who rewarded him and his wife with a 7-day trip with them to New York. It was DS's first and only trip to NY and they really enjoyed it. They saw several productions and loved Hamilton. He did come home and say he wished he had paid more attention in history class. LOL, never thought I'd ever hear that from him. I hope your visit with your Aunt goes well. Is she at home or in a care center? Hugs and prayers for her. joyfulnana, it was fun having the Online chat on Sat. Thank you for starting it. I need to get it set up on my new ipad so I can take a turn. Your new set up with work and scrapping looks really nice. I hope Abby gets used to it. LOL. I enjoyed our visit so much! Waving at all our Pokeys and wishing each of you a great week.

nylene - goodness that weather doesn't sound good. Hopefully it stays away from you. Girl Scouts around the world sounds like maybe a Thinking Day event? We've had them in the past but DD hasn't been interested the past few years. Sorry about their cookie season - DD didn't sell this year but our council had shortages and delays also. I started typing this and got interrupted...ended up with an impromptu trip to the eye doctor, my glasses frame broke. They're ordering me a new one as it's not repairable. So I'm back to my old glasses and boy, I can already tell the difference in prescription

You piqued my interest in "painting bunnies" Here ya go! CTMH watercolor paints and a waterbrush. That last one looks more like a chicken than a bunny. Dgs and I both prefer the one on the left.

Thinking Day..I think that's what Anj told me. I don't know a lot about GS, but I'm learning through her. We were involved in BS and 4-H, but there weren't many GS groups around as our children were growing up.

Linda - I live in fear of glasses breaking! My prescription hasn't changed a lot in the past 20 years thank goodness, but ALL my previous frames are broken so I don't even have "back up" glasses. I have back up contacts, and my most recent contacts are bifocal contacts so I can still read my phone and menus at restaurants if I'm wearing them I need to get to Costco and order new glasses actually - should do that today (ugh. The list is long and I'm sitting here on the boards!) because it would be nice to have a back up pair for our vacation. grammadee - SUPER cute bunnies! The shading really makes them "round". And while I know you don't like your chicken-bunny, I love his tail! nylene - yes, Hamilton was super educational for me too - I watched it on Disney+ when it first came out, and then spent a lot of time on google learning more about the US bank system Sounds dry but Hamilton makes it interesting - people realize that to get it into place was a) an act of brilliance and b) a political herculean achievement!

I really need to remember to drop off the older pairs for Lions Club.
