It's Frogxit! Poor old Harry, after endlessly bitching about his family on Oprah and then Netflix, and after spilling all the family secrets in a book that he made a few million dollars out of...and saying England is no longer his home and he doesn't feel safe there...his dear old Dad, the King, has relieved him of that burden and has evicted him from Frogmore cottage.
It's being widely reported, and was even mentioned by Meghan's Twitter mouthpiece Omid Scobie...so it seems likely to be true. This is probably a somewhat harsh take on it...but it contains the main elements of the story:
Charles is also trying to get Andrew out of The Royal Lodge...on the grounds that he's broke and can't afford it's upkeep and is supposedly trying to get him to move into Frogmore Cottage in place of Harry.
It'll be interesting to see this play out. No doubt the fabulous Markle twins will spin this as their decision initially and then complain about it in the next leg of their Privacy Tour

Yes, I just read this. I'd already read about Andrew 'leaving' the Lodge and obviously he needs somewhere to live, poor soul.
I'm still reading Tom Bower's biography and I must say I like her even less now and Harry has been completely brainwashed and almost absorbed by her. I hope she's proud of herself for what she's done to the monarchy essentially because she couldn't be the star of the Royal show.

It's being reported that Andrew is resisting the move, read the room Andrew, with everyone in the country experiencing cost of living issues, you resisting a move from a 31 bedroom lodge to a ten bedroom cottage is not going to revamp your public image.

I like her even less now and Harry has been completely brainwashed and almost absorbed by her. I still think this whole mess is about 70-80% Harry's doing. I've always been convinced he is a petulant, spoilt, jealous brat with a massive chip on his shoulder, and I think Meghan encourages all of his worst qualities - but they were there long before she arrived on the scene.

Interesting turn of events. Especially with moving the disgraced uncle into Frogmore. Nice little dig there. Now, do we have any bets on whether or not the Duchess divorces Harry? He doesn't seem to have much to offer in the way of prestige or wealth these days, and she has a history of ditching the men in her life once they are of no use to her.

you resisting a move from a 31 bedroom lodge to a ten bedroom cottage I think Frogmore Cottage only has 5 bedrooms! He and Fergie will be nice & cozy there. Although Charles seems to be in a bit of a cost cutting mood...so I'd be keeping very very quiet if I was Sarah Ferguson!

I think Frogmore Cottage only has 5 bedrooms! No, it's 10 bed, grade 2 listed - not exactly slumming it. And not quite what the word cottage implies. I do think Harry had a lot of those qualities but he seems to have swallowed whole her victimhood approach and psycho-babble. She will ditch him at some point - when he serves no further purpose as she does in deed, have a history of doing. Not just men but anyone who outlives their usefulness.

I’ve been reading lots of articles about how multiple recent polls have shown that Harry is less popular than Andrew. And the gap is even wider following the South Park episode.
Harry, you are the weakest link, goodbye.

Evicted from a place that you don't actually live in. What a scandal.

Yes - he'll never leave her, he's still so traumatized by his own parents' divorce and thinks it led to his mother's death. But if she decides, he'll have no say in it...she left her previous husband with no warning and mailed her rings back to him. I think if she does that to Harry, he'll never recover

I'm wondering what this means regarding H&M attending the coronation in May? Will they even be invited now?

I'm wondering what this means regarding H&M attending the coronation in May? Will they even be invited now? Interesting question! Like all other adults who travel overseas, now they'll have to sort out their own accommodation...maybe they are looking at Airbnbs right now? Or maybe it's a brilliant move on Charles' part..."of course my dear son and his wife are invited!" "Oh they have no police protection and nowhere to stay?...such a shame they won't be able to come then...they'll be sadly missed"

I think they wanted to keep it as a rental or investment property? Why wouldn't they move there instead of Frogmore? I hadn't heard he was to move to Frogmore, so that is a new interesting development for me. Harry & Meghan made substainal updates to Frogmore, correct? I wonder if KC3 will have to reimburse them for those costs, bc I thought I read that they had to pay for those improvement themselves?

I mean, really. What did they expect after shitting on the Royal Family? It was a grace & favor from. the Queen, which, now that she is gone, lets Charles decide. Probably shouldn't piss on the those who can grant favors.

Ok, I don't wanna doubt the DM, but if this all happened in January why are we just now hearing about it? Surely it would have leaked before now, right?

Everyone is reporting it now, so I feel like it's true and "a representative of the couple" (which usually means the people themselves) have confirmed it. Reports I read said they've been a "flurry of emails" over the last few weeks...which I'm inclined to believe because we've all seen via his book and his recent interviews how Harry thinks he should still be entitled to all the perks, even after he's left his 'job' that gave him those benefits. No doubt, just like with the UK police protection issue, he fought back against this decision. The public wouldn't know about these conversations/emails in the early stages unless someone leaks the information, with Harry accusing his family of always "leaking and planting" stories, I think the legitimate royals probably kept their mouths shut so as not to give him more ammunition. Harry is due to do a livestreaming event this Saturday...so my guess is the ticket sales weren't great and he had to get his name back in the news, so now was a good time for them to leak this story, and hopefully get some sympathy & generate some interest in tickets

I actually feel bad for Harry. The home was a gift from his grandmother, and he is out 3 million dollars. I don’t agree with Harry’s “tell all” interview(s) or book, but I hear him loud and clear about the problems with his father. It would be easy to shift all of the blame to Harry and/or Megan, but his Dad is part of the problem too.

The home was a gift from his grandmother, It wasn't a gift - a gift means that someone gives you something and then you own it free and clear. This was not a "gift" from the Queen...it was an offer of a rental property, those homes are the Monarch's to offer to family members for long term rent. Most of the Royals don't own the properties they live in, so Harry is no different to the others. When any of the rest of us rent a house, we don't for a minute think the owner of the property is gifting it to us, nor do we think we now own it. We pay rent to live there...and if for some reason the owner of the property wants to use it for something or someone else, they have the right at the end of the lease to ask us to move out. At this stage we don't know what the deal is with the money supposedly paid back by Harry for the renovations - there are rumours that Charles actually repaid the money on Harry's behalf...in which case they'd just be even, or if Harry really did pay for the renovations out of his own pocket, then there's nothing so far to suggest he is out that money - part of the deal may be that once the property reverts to the crown, he does get paid back.

That makes sense. They probably should not have reimbursed the money under those circumstances. It will be interesting to hear what happens with that, if they actually reimbursed the funds, like you said.

This will give Harry something to write about in the sequel to Spare. I'm guessing it will begin:
I thought family relations would get better after I wrote my tell all book exposing all the awful things my family has done to me, but then Pa announced Meghan and I would have to sleep on the fold out couch if we came to the coronation.

There won’t exactly be a shortage of places they can stay if/when they visit. They don’t live here so why do they need a home here?

They don’t live here so why do they need a home here? Exactly! Other than it adds to their royal cachet (which is fading daily) to say they have a home in the UK, there is no reason for them to have a base there. Especially since they've made it very clear how they feel about it.
