Me! I liked but didn't love the book but I think it will make a good mini-series and I'm excited to see Lisa Marie's daughter as Daisy!

For those of you who liked the book, Opal and Nev is another "rock and roll" story but a better book (to me anyways) and I adored Daisy Jones and am excited to see this. Her other books are good too, I really enjoyed her new one about the tennis player.

I’ll watch even though I hated the book so much I didn’t finish it.

I struggled to get through the first episode, so dull and Sam Claflin is totally wrong for the part.

I watched ep1 - the 60s/70s music that is mainstream, I enjoy, but for the most part, it is not usually my jam. I do not really enjoy the rock n roll drug scene of the 70s. I enjoyed the book, I loved the format. Someone above mentioned Opal & Nev - I read that too and did not like as much. Perhaps it was too soon after Daisy.
It's been awhile since I read the book, so I am not sure how I feel about the casting. Was Karen British in the book? I think she is in the show. I am not sure how I feel about Sam. I LOVE the actress who plays Camilla.

I didn't like the book at all. Loved the story but hated the way it was told.
I'm LOVING the series though! I've been excited to see it because I've been a Riley Keough fan since seeing her in The Girlfriend Experience years ago. But I don't like Billy... the actor seems too old? To me, at times he could pass for 40-50, he never looks young. It's very distracting for me.

Timothy Olyphant was so funny. Love him. DD and I enjoyed it. Fun to watch on a snowy day.

I will watch. I like the author but this was my least favorite of her books, I think.

I really loved the book and two episodes in loving the series. The casting is great minus Sam Claflin. I like when he plays the older Billy, but he’s not right for young Billy. Riley is excellent.

I kept seeing this show pop up when I was scrolling through Prime and Netflix last night. I hadn't heard of either the book or the show, so I didn't bother looking at what it is about. I'll give it a go when I've finished the last episode of the Murdaugh Murders.

I am really enjoying it! Wasn’t my favorite book of TJR but it has really translated well on screen.

I started the book, but DNF it, I just couldn’t get into it. I couldn’t be at the people who recommended it at the time.
So far I’ve like the show. I think having the music made all the difference.

I may have to check out the show. I listened to the audiobook and it was really good. I think that would make it better than reading it because they had different people read as the different characters. It sounded like a VH-1 show that way. Benjamin Bratt reads the part of Graham Dunne and it’s really good!

I don't think I made it through the first chapter of the book- I don't recall if it was boredom or circumstance.
I like the show though. I didn't know Riley Keough is Lisa Marie's daughter. I've seen her in many things, and always liked her in GFE, or thought she was familiar. Now that I know, I don't understand how I didn't see it!

I didn’t know anything about the book, but we started watching Daisy last night, and we really like it! It gives me That Thing You Do vibes, and I really like that movie.
Lisa’s daughter is great!

I listened to the book and enjoyed it, but wasn't wowed like so many others were. I AM enjoying the series so far. Sam Claflin isn't doing it for me though. It's not the acting so much, but he seems to old in several scenes, almost like his face is a bit gaunt to be playing a young man.

I didn't read the book, but watched all 3 episodes last night. Oh my gosh-I love it!!! I was born in 1960 and graduated high school in 1978. Watching this and hearing this music is like reliving the sounds of my teen years. I adore the music in this show. In fact today I was looking up this show on imdb.com to see if the actors are doing their own singing (they are) and if the music is available to buy (it is). On imdb it said that Daisy Jones and the Six has become the first fictional band to top the Itunes charts with the release of their album "Aurora". The album went straight to number 1 upon it's release. I just checked Amazon and you can get it via streaming, MP3, CD or Vinyl. I'm ordering the CD (my car still plays CD's) but it won't arrive until March 22-April 3rd. That's okay. Gives me time to first experience the songs on the show.
I agree with those who said that the actor playing Billy seems too old for his part-I agree. I do think the actress playing Camille is doing an excellent job. I loved how she didn't take any shit from Billy when he was acting like an ass but got right in his face, pointing her finger at him and letting him know what was what. I cheered at that part.
I had no idea Riley Keough is Elvis's granddaughter. I love her singing voice-the apple certainly didn't fall far from the tree.
I can't wait to see the rest of this series and wish they'd dropped all the episodes at once.
If you are interested the trivia at imdb.com about this series was interesting to read.
PS. The music/album is available across steaming platforms like Spotify etc. too. I should have realized that but I'm so old fashioned I still look for CD's first.

I loved the book - I really love oral history storytelling and music of the late ‘60s and early’70s.
I started the show last night and didn’t make it through the first episode. I didn’t think it was bad, it just didn’t grab me at all. Bummer, because I was really looking forward to it.

I listened to the audiobook and didn't love it. As I listened to it in small increments, it was kindof hard to follow since there were so many voices and trains of thoughts to keep up with.
I watched the episodes that dropped and liked it even less than the book. It was slow and if I had not wanted to hear the music I would have turned it off.
(possible spoilers below)
Daisy should be doing waaaaay more drugs than they showed her doing in the series. She was ALWAYS on something in the book. She was also described as stunningly beautiful (or some variation of that) more times than I could count,,, and in the series she's not that. I"m not knocking the actress that's playing her, I just don't think she looks how she was described in the book.
Why does Karen have a British accent? That was just weird. I like Billy. I think when he's older sitting outside he's very good looking- yummy!

I don’t know of one movie that was exactly like the book. I have found that one person doesn’t envision things the same as another person either. I learned me lesson on that. Now I enjoy shows without expectations.
