We need to get a gift for a couple celebrating their 25th anniversary. I need some ideas other than something like a silver picture frame (I suspect that would be a common gift they might get from others too.).
Anyone have a great, not too expensive idea?

Just nothing silver. We got so many silver gifts there is no way we could use even half of it.

The traditional gift for a 30th anniversary is pearl. Could you find something lovely that has pearls (or, possibly more easy, mother of pearl), with a note along the lines of "Congratulations on your 25th-- let me be the first to congratulate you on your 30th!" Or "Use this gift in anticipation of your 30th!" Or something way more poetic. LOL.
Of course, I don't know what that is, but maybe while you're out looking, something will jump out at you.

DH and I celebrated silver this year and we got a LOT of bottles of wine or champagne (we don't really drink, LOL, so much of that will probably be regifted), one silver frame that we actually put one of our wedding photos in, several people gave us money or gift cards for a nice dinner out, a few people gave us other gifts. My favorite was a silver dollar minted this year. What would have been a nice gift (that we didn't get): a 5x7 DOUBLE frame to put a photo from our wedding day and a current photo in it side by side. That would have been fun. Now I think I should go buy one for myself!
