I'm sure we've talked about this before but...
I'm looking for an inexpensive solution to store alphabet stickers of various sizes easily. I prefer to flip through so vertical rather than in a binder or horizontal and I would prefer to store by colour vs size or brand but I can be convinced to store by size.
Something compact that'll fit on my desk top or in a small (smaller than Kallax - 11" maybe?) cube would be ideal.
I don't have a ton - they are currently upright (ish) in a plastic shoebox (with the long side as the front/back) but it's a bit too big - if the short side was 1/2 as long, it would work better)

What about a desktop mail sorter? I use a small acrylic one to hold smaller alpha sheets that would get lost in the storage I use for Thicker size packages. It has a pretty small footprint. a.co/d/8pmLAXhThe one I use wouldn’t work well for longer packages, but there must be some that have taller sides that would.

linda, I store my alpha stickers in the tall sticker container from sb.com. Hope this link works: www.scrapbook.com/store/sbc-storage-5348.htmlFor some of the wider sticker sheets I ended up cutting them into widths that would fit into the container. Not perfect, but better than what I did have. Which was all jumbled together.

I like the sb.com tall organizer and a multi purpose bin from the container store, the 6 inch one.

For inexpensive solutions, repurpose a stationery box &/or check out wire locker baskets & clear fridge/cabinet bins at HomeGoods, Target, Walmart, etc. Also, see How do you store & organize STICKERS? thread for more ideas. HTH.

Something that works for me is an 8.5X11 binder with sleeves. I put the alphas in the sleeve by color. I put two in each sleeve (back to back).
It's really easy to flip through and fits nicely on a shelf. If you have smaller alphas, they have smaller binders in the office/school supply section of target. I have to cut down sheets that are too tall but I just slide the extra in the sleeve with the rest (or I cut off the numbers and store them with the rest of my numbers).
You could also use a 6X8 album with page protectors (they're just more expensive).

blemon- do you find that the alphas stay in the sleeves? Mine are in a plastic 13x13 envelope from HL and it’s not working. I think I’d like to try moving to a binder system, sounds much better than my method of taking everything out, sorting through and then shoving back in!

My storage is not small and compact, but I'll share anyways.
I use 13 x 13 plastic envelopes. I sort by color.
Any premade words are in little mini baggies. If the word(s) fits into a theme category, then the baggies goes in that themes 13 x 13 envelope. Random (non themed) premade words, are in mini baggies and hang on a jewelry tree with curtain clips.
One of my on going projects, for the past year or so.....has been making whatever words I can, from partially used stickers sheets or chipboard alphabets. I got tired of searching through partial used alphabets, and almost having a word, saying, title, etc......and being one or two letters short. I went through future photographs and often used themes, and made a list of words to have as a guide.

I store my alpha stickers in a Sterilite 18058606 Large Flip Top clear container. I got a 6 pack from Amazon back in 2020 to organize DDs IgG infusion supplies and had an extra one. It is the perfect size for the alphas I buy - Thickers mainly with a few other styles. I currently have 28 packs in my container with room for about 2 more. I just have to cut the top tag off for them to fit.

I will add that the Sterilite container is a perfect fit for the Michael's craft carts.

I agree with this!!!! I just in fact switched my alpha stickers to this a few days ago. Love it!!! I actually got 2 because they fit great into a Kallax cube. In the 2nd one, I just put all my alpha stamps and die sets (I think they are all in there, I just got this done a couple days ago and there may be stragglers hiding somewhere). Now all my alpha options are in 1 Kallax cube. I'm so excited by this. Haven't had time to use it yet though.

blemon- do you find that the alphas stay in the sleeves? Yes, they stay in because I store the binder upright on my shelf. But they do shift around in the sleeves (back and forth) because the sleeves are so much wider than the alphas. I could cut and tape them but that seems like a lot of effort.

I will add that the Sterilite container is a perfect fit for the Michael's craft carts. how easy are the carts to roll on carpet? my craft room is carpeted and while eventually I would like to rip it out - that's not a short-term project - and I don't have a cart spot that wouldn't require moving it regularly (as in it would need to block either drawers or Kallax cubes) - not much spare space in here - which is why I haven't gotten one yet

We have 5 in a carpeted house. I pull one away from the wall weekly for dad's IgG infusions and I have 2 in my craft nook I wheel around as needed.

Most of my alphabets are in Thicker's size packages. I have so many, though. I have two milk crates full of them (you can fit two rows of them), and then some are in the big vertical plastic scrapbook carriers that they don't make anymore. I have an alphabet problem. I never met an alphabet I didn't like.

I have two clip-it-ups and one is just for alphabet stickers. The upper ring holds the small packs and the lower ring hold larger packs like thick’s. I have been collecting them for probably close to 35 years so there is a lot! If they weren’t on the clip it up I wouldn’t see them and wouldn’t use them!
you can sometimes find clip it ups on eBay or shopgoodwill.com or fb marketplace place. There are also some tutorials on how to make your own diy version which I did and then my daughter took for her craft room after I replaced them with clip it ups I got used!

Mine are in an Artbin large satchel. I saw someone organize their alphas like that at a crop and liked the idea. Now that I've filled two satchels, I'm not liking the idea as much, lol. I am thinking about switching to the Sterlite containers that pantsonfire mentioned (smaller and easier to move/carry/flip through) or my currently unused Clip-it-up mentioned by katiekaty (use what I have and maybe if I see it, I will use it).

I know that Hobby Lobby used to sell the expanding sticker stadium. It held a ton and you could put in lots of sizes. 3.1 Close up Left side by Nancy Tim, on Flickr

A lot of good ideas since I store mine by color in a large flat plastic container. Definitely going to look into these.

I have a LOT of alpha stickers, and I have a few storage 'solutions'. - I store Thickers and other non-flat alphas in two of the SB.com Tall sticker organizer mentioned above: one for colors in ROYGBIV order and one for neutrals (Black, white, Gray, Gold, Silver, plain chipboard). - I store flat title-size alpha stickers that are on sheets 8 1/2 x 11 or smaller in two binders inside 8 1/2 x 11 clear page protectors - again, one binder for colors (ROYGBIV) and one for neutrals (everything else) - For mini alpha stickers, I have a small bin on my desktop, 7" deep, 6" wide, 5" high. - For 12 x 12 alpha sticker sheets, I have a bin from the Container Store that is 14" wide, 3 1/2" deep, and about 11" high. I consider all of these to be vertical solutions - even the binders are stored upright. I tried to find a 'one size fits all'solution, but found using containers that fit the stickers to work better for keeping them neat and finding what I'm looking for.
