I've never looked into this event, but I just watched Scrapbooking Quebec's layout share from last November's event, and I am just wowed at the amount of products received and how many layouts she was able to do. I checked the SCT website and see that they have another paper crafting event in November, but that's a super busy time of year for me. I think I'd like to sign up for next year's April event. When does registration open up for that? I want to make sure I put it on my calendar. I'm a pretty slow scrapbooker, so it makes me a little nervous that I won't be able to keep up with the workshops. Anybody else in this boat who still feels it's worth it and is able to catch up? Is the current unboxing video available to the public (link please?), or just those who are participating? I'm looking forward to hearing all about how it goes for this month's attendees! Enjoy!

margie, the registration for the spring events usually opens before Christmas (November, maybe?). If you are interested in card making and techniques, choose the cardmaking one. That box was 13 lbs! Lots of dies and stencils, some inks and other media. If you are more into scrapbooking, the Papercrafting event is a good choice. That box was 10 lbs, mostly newest paper collections with a few inks and stencils. If you sign up for the Scrapbook & Cards Today newsletter, you will get email notifications for all their events. Registration for the fall starts the end of this month. I plan to register for the holiday event (cards and scrapbooking both). The unboxing video, and all other videos for these events are available only for C& C private fb group members. Sorry.

The 2023 spring event registration was the previous November. The 2022 spring event registration was previous October. On the SCT website they have a list of all the previous events. You can find details of each event there. SCT is really big on the "you do you" philosophy. You are not expected to do everything in tandem with the teachers. From their last email: "Friends, a great deal is packed into our weekend together, and we want you to remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. There is absolutely no expectation that you will be available to watch every class, every live, complete every project, and so on. The event was not designed that way. This event was designed to be with you for a long time. It is not meant to add any stress! While our instructors have kept their classes in real-time, they have been doing this for a long time, and you are not expected to keep pace with them. The right pace is your pace. Pause and rewind is your friend. It’s the beauty of a virtual class. This is your weekend. Complete one project, great!! Complete 5 projects, great!! Watch all weekend long or here and there as you can and create nothing … that’s great, too! No one is keeping score. So, let’s take some pressure off knowing everything is recorded and can be watched over the next year or longer when it best suits you. Sound like a deal?" I'm a slow scrapbooker. I often will pause the class if I start to fall behind until I catch up, then press play when I'm ready. I don't care about the comments and the need to be "live" with the teacher. The unboxing video is done within the private event FB group. Not sure if any attendees do their own public unboxing on YouTube. To give you an idea of what we received - here's a list of the supplies: Mini Classes
Echo Park - It's Spring Time (three 12x12 patterned papers, 12x12 sticker sheet)

I don't appreciate Vicki B's personality, so I often watch the only the beginning of her class for the cutting instructions, and then do the actual putting together using the instruction guide for reference. That's SO interesting. I'm actually dying to know what it is about her that you don't like. I'm so curious!

Anyone watching the meet n greets this week? I watched Jess last night and Becky’s starts soon.
I don’t typically get excited about big events more than a day or two beforehand (my brain doesn’t work that way), but after watching Jess last night I am excited!

i have been watching the meet n greets on replay. Anyone know why everything in Jess's was mirror reversed left to right? That big calendar in the background was driving me crazy.

I have no idea why I would do that 🤷🏻♀️ I’m pretty sure Jess said she’s going to teach her class at Catherine’s studio, so at least that will be ok!
I felt so bad for Jana last night. She has had so much going on! But she’s still so upbeat and positive. I really like her and I hope her family stuff levels out.
I’ve done all my homework and photos are printed! I even printed photos for Jess’s class. Im hoping to get a lot accomplished.

I’ve done all my homework and photos are printed! I even printed photos for Jess’s class. Im hoping to get a lot accomplished. This is me as well (except no photos for Jess's class). I've decided not to do Virginia's mini class and instead use those supplies to do a repeat of Victoria's mini class. I'm also not going to do Jana's mini class, and will use those supplies to do a repeat of Becki's single layout class, and maybe one of Paige's as a single layout if I can make it work. I want to tweak Jess's class to have more content in each month's page since I intend to have the pocket pages chronologically spread throughout my album and not have all the pocket pages lumped together. I bought some extra Design A pocket pages to aid me in this. She mentioned there will be leftover pieces so I'm hopeful I can pull it together with papers from my stash if needed. I'm also undecided if I'm going to save the finished pocket pages for a 2024 month in review or redo what I've done this year (which is only January at this point). I've already packed the supplies for my 2023 month in review, so all I'm doing for it at this point is taking photos and notes. By the time I get back around to scrapbooking it, I might be really happy to just use Jess's class projects rather than having to play catch up with a lot of months all at once. Actually I think I just talked myself into using Jess's class for 2023, lol.

Yes! I hear what you’re saying for Jess’s class. I like to spread my layouts across the year too. Right now I’m thinking if I put January at the end of the month’s pages and February at the start of the month, it saves me from too many additional pockets. And repeat. I do have enough pocket pages to add extras but that also means I need to use the other “blank” sides in the months too. I’m going to try it for Jan, Feb, March and April of 2023 (photos printed for all with the exception of a few April ones since it’s not over). I hope it works.

When someone uses their phone to take a video of themselves so they can see the screen and background behind as they video, instead of holding/setting up the phone on a tripod (as you would a scenic shot you are facing), images will be in reverse. I hope that makes sense. Reverse images bug me, too.

I have watched all the meet & greets and can't wait to watch the actual projects, but I will only have my crafty weekend next week, as we have some constructors in the house and everything is dusty and, more importantly I'm alone next weekend I've decided not to do Virginia's mini class and instead use those supplies to do a repeat of Victoria's mini class. I'm also not going to do Jana's mini class, and will use those supplies to do a repeat of Becki's single layout class, and maybe one of Paige's as a single layout if I can make it work. This is what I am planning to do too. I do like the mini albums and I used to make a lot of them at some point, but I just do not have the space to store them.

Happy Crop & Create day! I hope everyone has fun. I’m loving all of your ideas to remake the projects into layouts. I plan on doing the same. I’ll watch the classes today for the fun of it and do my own thing, except for Victoria bc I’m making that layout for sure! I enjoy listening to the teachers and I’m sure I’ll learn some things even by not making their same projects today.
But I’m most excited to make the layouts on Sat/Sun!

Watched Virginia's mini album class. Folded & cut a sheet of plain cs. I think I will use this fold for a grad card for my dgd with different papers. I may use some of the cut aparts and stickers from this kit on the card as well--"Let your dreams blossom", "Bee happy", and "Scatter seeds of kindness" would work wonderfully on a grad card.
The rest of this kit I intend to use to scrap my dgs's transplanting his corn and beans for his school project this spring.

Really enjoyed Virginia's and Victoria's classes. I decided to skip the flip book and use that collection for layouts instead.

This is going to be a very different event for me. The past week has been crazy-busy and there was no time to prepare. I knew I'd be beat by the time the weekend rolled around so I decided that I wasn't even going to try and participate. I'd do it in my own good time. I peeked in once in a while today and I'm not regretting not being in my usual "do it all in real time" mode. I did open my box at the unboxing and that was it until this morning. Today I finished a shadow box that was taking over my entire craft room and got cleaned up. Then I went back through my pictures on Amazon from the past few months, tossed out all the bad ones and uploaded the good ones to Photos. Next I finally sat down with the instruction book and got a good hold on which projects I really want to do and what ideas I had for photos to go with them.
Tomorrow morning I'm going to sit down with paper and pencil, make a list of each project I want to do along with the size photos I need. I'm going to write down which photos I want to use and then I'll pick one project and print out the photos for that project. I'll watch the meet and greet for that teacher and then dive in to the actual class with heavy use of the pause button! Then rinse and repeat for another project.
I'm actually really pleased with this plan. It makes sense to me, even though I do the card making events completely differently. Layouts are a whole different animal for me in how I plan them and how I make them.
Hope ya'll are having fun!

I was able to complete Meghann’s single and double page layouts. I stopped the class as she was about to start the pocket page. I’ll do that one another time. I ended up watching all of Vicki’s class. While nothing is affixed to the pages, I have all the photos double matted and everything organized so it shouldn’t take long to finish. After Vicki’s class I paused for a late lunch (I’m on Pacific time). I had intended to do Becki’s class but ended up on the couch watching the Stagecoach livestream with DW. So I’ll add that one to the “do later” pile. I still need to reset my table after Vicki’s class; it’s a mess!!

I watched part of yesterday but didn't finish anything. I'm hoping to finish Becky's layouts today.
Since I already do project life, I plan to use Jess's supplies as part of my 2024.

Since I already do project life, I plan to use Jess's supplies as part of my 2024. At the in person crop this next weekend, I plan to cut all the papers as per Jess's instructions, and stow them in an album of pocket pages. I am debating setting it up for my dgd so she can use it to put her photos in for 2024. She graduates this June. Or I may keep it as a stash of cards to use on my own 12x12 pages going forward. Looking forward to Paige's class, but not sure I will get to watch it today...

I'm thinking of scraplifting that idea.
