Who is signed up for this one? If you were also involved in their card making event this past weekend, you are probably still recovering from all the that excitement.
The hype is just starting over on the April event page. Boxes supposed to be going out early next week. Instructors include Vicki Boutin, Victoria Calvin, Paige Evans, and Virginia Nebel.
The Cardmaking Peas made such a great job of chatting and sharing around the March event. Hoping to do that here with the April one.
Who's in? What do you think about the sneaks so far? What are you looking forward to most?

I did not sign up and of course now wish I had. SCT does an awesome job with these events. Last year I signed up and then missed the weekend due to family issues. I hope all who have signed up have a great time!

I'm in on this one too. So far, I've done 5 cardmaking events and 2 holiday events, but this is my first papercrafting. I admit, I'm starting to wonder how this is going to work out for me. I started scrapbooking about 20 years ago and discovered card making about 3 years ago. I pretty much left scrapbooking behind at that point. However, I had so much fun with the scrapping that I did in this year's holiday event, that I decided it might be fun to try this event and get back into scrapbooking again. So, I got on the wait list, and here I am. Between the sneak peeks so far and the supply list, I'm beginning to wonder if I made the right choice. Add to that, the weekend has turned out to be a major fund raiser and performance weekend for the choral group I sing with so I won't have a lot of time to be online that weekend.
I am looking forward to the Doodlebug and flipbook classes on Friday, but I'll definitely be doing them after the fact. I'm also looking forward to classes by Paige Evens and Meghann Andrew, and I'm hoping Jess's Month-to-Month class might inspire me to get with scrapping again.
Anyway, I'll keep an open mind and if worse comes to worse, I'm sure I'll love the supplies in the box!

My crafty BFF (non-pea) and I are doing this one.
I got in last minute from the waitlist on the card making one only to get covid. I haven’t done anything other than watch the unboxing video and separate each class into their own zippered bag. I’m still dealing with the symptoms but testing negative. I’m hoping my energy returns in time to do the April event. I’m tired of feeling like crap.

I hope all who have signed up have a great time! In the card making event it was mentioned that there were still boxes available for the paper crafting event. Might be worth emailing SCT to see if you can get in. I was able to get in last minute to the card making one.

I got in! I’m very excited.
I love all the sneak peeks so far.
Question for those who have done this before: how much prep work, if any, do you have to do before the event? Im planning on printing my photos for the projects but I didn’t know if they have you precut papers or anything?

Glad you got in, @scrappingme. The amount of prep work in this event seems to depend on the instructor and on the particular LO or project. Some in the past have had cutting guides, but some have had no prep work at all. Printing the photos will be a nice start. The event booklet will say how many photos you need for each class.
Also, the class videos are all available after the event, so if you don't finish everything that weekend, you can always come back to it later.

I am in. I have not done a Papercrafting event for a year due to the fact the main classes included a mini album. I love mini albums, but only when I have pictures to put in it. So I was excited to see the April event focused on layouts. I am okay that the schedule shows mini albums. Loving the sneaks! Meghann Andrew using SS Flea Market is my favorite so far.

Anyway, I'll keep an open mind and if worse comes to worse, I'm sure I'll love the supplies in the box! I felt this way too after I signed up for my first scrapbooking event last April. I had done the card making events several times and loved them so much and was kind of ready to give up 12x12 scrapbooking. I tell you, this event got me fired up to scrapbook again! I got my mojo back in a major way and am now into scrapbooking more than card making. I'll always love both, but scrapbooking is where it's at these days! I usually love Virginia Nebel's classes the most, as well as Paige Evan's. Meghann Andrews is great, too. Those are for sure my top 3. But the other ones are good, too - none are a dud. I skip the mini album classes, though, so I can't judge those. I use the products for my own 12x12 instead. The booklet will tell you exactly how many photos are needed for each class and what sizes to print them at. You can also tell the theme by looking at the projects. I really suggest to have the photos ready to go for each class. The only other homework I recall is things like fussy cutting flowers out of 12x12 paper - oh and last fall we did have to cut some card stock from Meghann's class using templates she provided. But the homework is way less than for the cardmaking weekends.

Listen to your body and take care, even if you think you should be doing better and back to normal. I've had covid a couple of times. When I had it last April, it took at least 2 months before I really felt like myself again. It is still serious business. Warm thoughts...

marg - Thank you so much for the inspiration and information! I hope my experience will be similar to yours. I think one of the things that really made the last holiday event work for me was that I did have pictures printed out ahead of time. I'm going to make sure that I have that done - at least for the classes that I can fit in that weekend! I would love to be at a point where I'm interested in doing scrapping and card making equally. Thanks again!!

I use the products for my own 12x12 instead. Virginia's layouts tend to be my favorites, too. I like that she pulls products from multiple companies (my favorite way to scrapbook) and she tends to focus on two page layouts (my nemesis). I also really enjoy Paige and Meghann's classes. Victoria Calvin is another I like. I don't appreciate Vicki B's personality, so I often watch the only the beginning of her class for the cutting instructions, and then do the actual putting together using the instruction guide for reference. I think this will be my 5th(?) virtual SCT scrapbooking event (I think I've only missed one - last year's fall event). The last one I attended was the first time I pre-planned what photos I was going to use and had them printed and ready to go. I feel like it was my most "successful" event because of this. I was able to get more finished and put away by the end of the event than any other I had participated in. If you have the time to decide what photos you are scrapbooking and have them printed beforehand, I highly recommend it. I intend to do the same for the April event.

Im planning on printing my photos for the projects but I didn’t know if they have you precut papers or anything? I don't feel like the prep for the scrapbooking event is very much. The pocket page class usually has homework - but it's usually more thinking about the subject/inward thoughts/journalling, etc. Not actually cutting paper, etc. I saw two of the classes are using circles and have provided templates for each of these in the FB group. Some teachers (like Vicki B) are a stickler about having you wait until their class before doing any cutting. Her classes always start with cutting everything into the pieces used in her class. I would not pre-cut anything for her class unless she specifically says so.

After testing negative last week, DW and I are now testing positive again. I think I got the post-Paxolovid breakthrough covid, and then gave it back to DW. So we're now on round #2 this month. This time is better than the version we had 2-3 weeks ago. Silver lining, I guess.

Thanks for the prepping tips! It’s hard for me to make projects without photos so I will definitely have those ready to go.
I signed up because there were no mini book classes listed so I hope I can make the bonus class mini book supplies work. Ugh. I wish they would do bonus layouts instead. Or have some designers work with the mini book supplies and show us some layouts with those examples. But I know that’s not the focus of the event so I’ll be ok.
I only do mini books for specific things and don’t make them just to make them. They sit collecting dust lol And I don’t have the space to keep things like that unfinished sitting around. Layouts are my preference - I don’t even care what size they are or if they’re singles/doubles/pockets!
It sounds like the teachers are great. I’m excited for Paige Evans. I took a class of hers off her website last week and it was very good. I will take more of those.
I’m definitely more of a scrapbooker than a card maker! I’m happy these events exist.

As far as prep work, it’s a good idea to watch the instructor meet and great videos too. They often talk about any pre-work for their classes. But, as others have said, it’s usually minimal and things like fussy cutting that could take more time for some folks. The nice thing about the event is that you can pause the video if you start to fall behind, and just work at your own pace!

I'm really looking forward to the event! I participated in the last couple of paper crafting events and found they keep me excited and energized to scrap.
In the past I have especially loved classes from Virginia, Meghann, Paige and Victoria. Really, I have been able to modify any of the classes even if originally I thought it wasn't my style.

10 lbs?! Holy cow. Do you know how much the past ones weighed? I’m so curious.
I can’t wait to get mine! No shipping notice yet. A local friend also hasn’t gotten hers so we must be in another round.
I’m really liking the sneak peeks in the event so far too.

Opening one of those boxes is exciting! Like Christmas morning. Of course on Christmas morning, I opened g/c's to SCT, so... Merry Christmas to me when the box arrives! Which leads me to ask, are you #team wait (not opening until the unboxing on line party), #team peak (open the top and peak inside), or #team ripitopen (taking everything out of the box and giving it some love immediately)?
