I used up a sheet of foam squares and I've been digging through old stash lately esp. since I'm working on older photos (2008 right now)

Yesterday I tried using a stamp that I like but find difficult to use. I did a colored stamping technique that I thought might work and it was a total fail. I tried again and ruined that one too. And it wasn't fun. So I put the stamp in my use it or lose it bin. I have one thought in the back of my mind for how to use it, but I don't think it's worth even bothering with. A gathered a few other stamps that I simply don't enjoy using and put them in the bin too. This is a great idea. I know I'm guilty of hanging onto stamp sets because I paid good money for them, or I'm sure I could use them, or whatever other reasons I come up with.

I'm delighted to see so many things getting used or used up! I've pulled out some almost used products to work through during sketchtember so I hope to report back soon with some wins.

Here's a funny sort of "now what?" question about using stuff up. If you use up a discontinued ink pad, clearly you toss it, because it can't be reinked.
What if you use up an ink pad that's still in production, has reinkers available, but you personally don't care to refill it? Do you offer it as a RAK, noting that reinkers are available? Or just toss it?
It's really pathetic how much I hate trashing things....

But most likely it's going to cost the same to ship it as it's worth to buy a new one so it's most likely trash. Everything will one eventually be trash so don't feel too bad.

I used a really old MME journaling card on my latest layout, it's one of those pieces that I've found really difficult to use but also didn't want to destash at any point, so I'm really happy it has finally made it onto a page.

I finished an alpha on my latest page! It's an old Gossamer Blue one that was in my use it or lose it pile. I've always loved the font so I'm glad I finished it.

Oh my goodness, spent all day on my 2022 dd album (now about 80% done!) and used up:
- Glitter ae handwriting title words - A WHOLE ae word phrase sticker sheet except for the words Noel and trees, that’d be quite the page🤭! - Sentence sticker sheet from last years advent calendar - half an alpha set - all the cards I had out to use - all the embellishments I had out to use - all the bronze cardstock I had out to use
My theme was bronze and black and I have absolutely CRUSHED my kit that I made up - even if every page isn’t amazing it is almost done and it is for a very hectic December so I’ll take it!
Even going back to journal on the pages has reminded me just how exhausted we all were last year!
Just a few more bits and bobs to add, then all the journaling, and I’m DONE!

I used a Scrapbook Generation page kit - woohoo! And two different Echo Park camping collection kits are used up to the point of just having scraps and stickers left and I've broken them up and integrated into my stash

I used up a sheet of foam squares. I’d rather be using up an alpha sheet or collection or kit, something that isn’t a replaceable consumable. But, I’ll take it since it means I’ve been creating!

I consistently use up the little bottles of glitter glue. It’s so easy to add a little sparkle without a mess and the results don’t require anyone to wear sunglasses 😆.

I used a really old SC title on my most recent layout, along with two of my newer ink purchases that I'd only swatched.

I used a super old zebra sticker yesterday - all I have left from that sticker sheet is an elephant but alas he didn't work on my elephant page so will need to wait for the next batch of zoo pictures (spoiler alert - there are plenty of unscrapped zoo trips)

I tossed a half used bottle of glue. I didn't really like it and I have other liquid glues that are newer and I like better. Maybe it was a waste, but I was getting frustrated every time I used it. I think it is okay to toss things you don't like, right?

I think it is okay to toss things you don't like, right? Of course! Especially something that is a consumable anyway. Just pretend you used a lot more glue on every thing you stuck and used it up. Same difference, right? No one should spend their hobby time feeling frustrated.

Thanks PaperAngel - most of what I'm downsizing is ending up on cards or in my albums but I always have a bag for donations for those items I absolutely won't be able to use.

I exclusively scrapbook so either use leftover papers/scraps & embellishments on future layouts or donate them along with unwanted/themed embellishments. I accumlate donations in a designated bin in my craft room & donate once it is full (most recently to an after school art program for at-risk students whose creations on display at drop-off were beyond impressive!).

Can anyone recommend youtubers who feature older stash busting? I don't know anyone who focuses on products in this kind of age range. I assume you're looking for more current layout styles just using older products (ie finding videos from 8 or 10 years ago would be less useful because certain trends have changed)? Laura Alberts has just done a layout a day for Scraptember using a homemade kit which included Shimelle's Little by Little, a Pink Paislee beach collection that was not quite as old, and I think some other probably newer collections. Her channel is here. If you're into paid content/Shimelle's style, she often uses older collections in her paid classes. Her current PL style class used Love, Elsie and some really old SS papers mixed in with new releases, and lots of her classes have her reaching back into her stash and using products from discontinued companies. Most of the other youtubers I follow tend to work with pretty recent collections, so my only other suggestion is to see if you can replicate pages you like by substituting the older things you have in your stash for the newer products the videos are showing.

I used up a sheet of enamel dots and everything on another sheet but the black. I also used up TWO random adhesive rollers (I think I got them in goodie bags or crop prizes) on some cards. I prefer liquid glue to rollers, so these aren’t a replaceable supply for me and have been sitting on my desk far too long!
I’ve used a lot of camping themed supplies, but still have papers and stickers on the sheet left. But I made a dent.

Bourbon Creek Crafts does cards, craft fair type crafts, and scrapbook pages and often uses older supplies or paper pads. I've also seen she does a Bringing Back Basic Grey collab that might be of interest www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTBlJ_UFBKf_GrKyWz1TDgid5VOcN8si_Not sure how old she goes but she is very productive and might be inspiring.
