SHARING thread for Q-2

Working my way through some Sketchy Saturdays. This one isn't my favorite, I feel like it falls a little flat for some reason. Maybe because it is literally all paper and only from one paper pad..

I made a random card to use up the big scraps of paper from a Sheetload of cards. I had 2 strips left of each paper so I trimmed them down for this, and used the last piece to add little banner decorations inside the 12 Sheetload cards I had already made.

14 cards from 2 sheets of open stock 12x12 paper. These are very very simple - the charity requires red white a blue postcards without sentiments for a 9/11 foster kids event. (Also posted on the random Sheetloads thread.) I squeezed 2 extra cards out of the scraps from the Sheetload sketch.

Really crooked photo, I have trouble photographing double pages. I used a new 6x6 paper pad from Hobby Lobby for this one. The paper has a fabulous linen texture. It’s just yummy!

I've made 16 quick TE Create in Quads cards for an Altenew mother's and father's day card drive. I decided to start with father's since that's harder/less commonly donated and I might run out of time. All of the color palettes ended up with fiesta blue in them so I used that color for the sentiment stamp inside.

I prefer the father sentiment but the skinny die cut is fiddly, hard to get out of the die intact, so I used the dad on some of the cards. (Honey Bee dies) I used some random old enamel dots, proud of myself for using some of them up and not overthinking the design too much.

I used the “Aurora” Limitless Kit and Easter add-ons from {Not} Just For Boys for this layout.

These photos are from brunch yesterday. I can't believe I'm so up-to-date! 

nylene your Girl Scout stenciling is so clever. I love the additional layer of dots too. The page makes me want to eat some thin mints!

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my cards. You asked about how difficult the Create in Quads hexagon stencils are to use so I thought I’d answer here in case others who have used them want to chime in. I find them pretty easy. They look really impressive but the stencils are quite rigid and stable so even though I’m a bit clumsy/heavy handed with stencils I don’t get much shifting or ink creeping under the edges. You line up the little registration squares to get each layer in the right place but I also find it easier to leave the paper full size and attach it with some tape, lined up with the edges of the stencil, as an extra layer of registration.

I have some repetitive use injuries so the stenciling can be a bit hard on my hands and arms after a while, but I also need to learn to lighten up! Having a nice juicy ink pad makes it easier too. They’re pretty cool stencils but a bit pricey.

Love seeing everyone's beautiful work! I haven't popped into the Q2 thread yet soooooo, here's a bunch of recent layouts I made, starting with two layouts I created for our 20th anniversary with our St. Lucia pictures.





Then I've been having fun going back and scrapping all older pics of my kids.

This LO is for Shimelle's Use What You Buy - Non Repeating Print class. This was a fun page to make. I love the paper, but probably wouldn't have used it were it not for this class.
