Why double points? My family is leaving for a week and I have double booked myself into TWO virtual crafting retreats for the weekend! And here in Massachusetts, Monday is an holiday. So, assuming creations like cards count as well as layouts, what fortuitous timing! What holiday is it in Massachusetts and how do I tell my work I need the day off!? 😂

Patriots' Day. For the militia men, not the football team. Also the Boston Marathon. I believe it's also observed in Maine, which long ago was part of Massachusetts.

Double points weekends was our "special event" this quarter. There will be one in April, one in May and one in June. Shakti and natscraps , for those 4 days you can count DOuBLE points for not only what you create but the TIME you spend crafting. So instead of 10 points per hour, count 20. And if you are in a virtual or in-person crop, you can count DOUBLE-DOUBLE the usual hourly scrapping alone rate so 40 points per hour!) Is this listed on the challenges printable? I didn't notice it if it is, but I can look harder if I need to. Here you say "4 days" but upthread someone said it was Thursday - Monday, which would be 5.

And it IS on the printable--top of second page, under Special Challenges--(I had to go check) and I think it is also in my first post in the challenges thread.

Time to DOUBLE DOWN, Crew! I won't be creating anything today, but did spend 90 minutes sorting and stowing away my Crop & Create card kits from last month so I will have room in my stadium for the Papercrafting kit. Just got the notice for pick up this morning. I am planning to get a handle on points so far--or at least on time spent creating & organizing--up to and including yesterday. That way I can score hours spent over these five days separately, and double 'em!

Greetings from Crazy Town! Got the fam off without a hitch yesterday and watched my first three videos (first two projects for my SU Creativate and HA Stamp-Along intro). Just about two hours until the next one. Which is good, because at some point this morning I had in my hot little hand a stack of paper including schedules for both events, instruction handout for the HA, and my printed challenge list. I glanced at them, decided that, yes, they should all be together and handy, and promptly set them down...into the void! Gone, just gone. I think I have a better set up for this weekend than I did for C&C. I'll see how it goes. ETA hilarity: during the HA video last night, someone asked what to do when you get stuck and frustrated. One suggestion was to ask your internet friends for help. Guess what I found as soon as I walked away from posting the above?

Who else is scrapping this double point weekend? Lots of online crop events it seems! I’ll be back tomorrow to scrap, and I did some cards on Thursday and a layout last night. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!

I'm starting a FaceTime crafty session with my BFF soon! We're going to do an unboxing of the SCT scrapbooking event box together and then afterwards do some crafting (I think I'll start on summer themed cards). I'm excited!

I spent virtually the whole weekend in the craft room! The SU even was 8 classes, 2 Friday evening and 6 Saturday. The HA Stamp-along was 10 classes, 5 each Saturday and Sunday. I attended all but 2 of the SU ones and 9 1/2 of the HA.
SU is designed to mostly be "watch and get inspired, craft later" but I have a great idea for my card for my mom for Mother's Day and started it. There was at least one other idea I want to try. The four instructors do two projects each and always present 3 variations -- completely different stamps sets as well as colors, so that you can get more ideas of products you already own that you can use for the projects.
I completed a few card fronts and other assorted pieces, but didn't finish anything from the HA event either. By yesterday afternoon, when the classes were all using products I didn't have and hadn't figured out subs for, I just watched on my big monitor and tidied the craft room.
My plans for today are mostly figuring out what I want to eat for the week so I can grocery shop and getting a mani-pedi. So, come to think of it, I could be crafting RIGHT NOW (or at least after I wash yesterday's dishes)!

I want to give this week's sketchy Saturday sketch a whirl. Saw something on Pinterest yesterday that would work super well for a facing page. I have some photos pulled and am searching for papers. Still some double points to be had today...

I know attending virtual live classes counts as “crafting with others” time, but what about the meet n greets, wrap ups, etc? You know, the “fluff” these things always have some of?

T-10 If you use the techniques you learned on a project you get a point. I thought there was a point for watching a crafty video but I guess that was last month. Hours cover time you are actually crafting.

Well, yes, but if you're crafting along to a live class, that's more than watching a video or using a technique you learned from a video -- that's the part that's "crafting with others virtually." Isn't it?

Dh is scrambling to finish up info for income tax, so not so much fun around here...
And dgs and dad who had planned to arrive yesterday are now on their way today. They will be here until Tuesday. We will be cleaning the basement. More fun...
For scrappy activity, I have put some hours into sliding copied scrapbook pages into page protectors in dgd's grad album. So far 100 page protectors with at least one page in each, mostly two pages. I have a few more copies to go here and then one last batch to be picked up next week. I have also returned most of the original pages to their albums. So quite a few organizing hours, but nothing actually created. Hoping to take on a couple of sketches on this upcoming Wednesday.

I made a card for DGD's 3rd birthday tomorrow - I will see her at her brother's baseball game after work tomorrow. Am trying to find a place for all the new stuff I purchased after C&C Cards last month. Some things are gonna have to go! Keep an eye on the Stamping/Cardmaking forum - several of us have been giving away items from C&C Delivered for free (you just pay for shipping).
Just counted up my points so far for April. That's my least exciting part of being on a team. I can never seem to get them right, always forget something. LOL

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I had a busy Saturday, and today we spent doing a lot of chores around the house. I’m beat! No scrapping this weekend for me but I feel very productive with what I got done anyway. Now if I could find a magical laundry folding fairy somewhere around here…

Hey Critters! April is almost gone and by Monday it will by MAY! I am trying to set up a little additional fun for our double points weekend (May 11th to 15th), but I need a couple of volunteers to host...
A host would get ONE DAY--probably Saturday or Sunday--and on that day she would post a sketch, a recipe challenge, and a discussion question. Then as people post in that thread during the day, the host would respond, chat, keep the discussion going... Anyone interested? I have myself and two members from the Paper Posse, but we need two more. Then I can set up a group PM to finalize planning.

This is a better place to ask a question, duh. azcrafty the SLoC this month made 6 cards. If I made 2 sets (12 cards) do I get 20 bonus points for completing the two or just 10 for completing any set?

Also, Critters happy (almost) May! Time is flying. As grammadee mentioned, consider hosting a challenge in May or participating in a new one. The Donna challenge for May is up!

The extra 10 points just for the first set that you used something that you purchased in the last 30 days. So 70 points for the first set and 60 points for the second. I hope this helps.

Happy International Scrapbook Day! Hope y'all are busy scrapping today, there's so much out there to join in with! I just finished the May Sheetload of Cards, and am going to clean up my table a bit before I start playing with the new Spellbinders stuff that came in the mail yesterday. Waving HI to all the Creative Critters!

Hey Critters! How is everyone doing?? I've been so tired this past week, UGH. This weekend, there is going to be a Pea Party from Thursday to Monday. Double points and an online/virtual crop. Check out the threads below for more info. I plan on scrapping this weekend, unless I get hit too hard from my covid booster on Saturday. I also do have some things to do around the house, so we'll see.
