Thanks for posting and hosting this azcrafty. I think I will work on these today. I never got around to doing Feb or March, but will hold on to the designs. Have you finished yours for this month?

azcrafty, your cards are so cute. I love that big birthday sentiment. The ribbon and vellum behind it really make it stand out. I love how versatile your cards are. It's a great design this month. I have finished mine and taken a photo but it takes a while for my camera to talk to my computer so I will post it when it pops up. I noticed your yellow enamel dots and decided my cards needed dots too, so I pulled out some starform circle stickers and added them. That was after I took the photo so they won't show up on the cards, but they add a cute sparkle.

Here are mine. I used just the paper on my desk and was able to make 14 cards (not counting card bases). Which shows you that I often have lots of scraps left on the desk and not filed away! I'm a messy scrapper. The little zoo animals are Design Studio stickers that I sized to fit the cards and printed and cut with my Silhouette. Zoo Animals Birthday Cards

azcrafty and nylene, I like both of your cards! Nylene, those little animals are adorable and cheery! Are they a die cut? I've made 2 sets of this month's design so far. I just need a little brighter day to take some pics and share.

azcrafty and nylene , I like both of your cards! Nylene, those little animals are adorable and cheery! Are they a die cut? I've made 2 sets of this month's design so far. I just need a little brighter day to take some pics and share. Thanks, MichyM . The animals are "stickers" from the Design Store. They all come together on one sheet and I can separate and resize them, then print and cut with my Silhouette. Every time they have a 50% off at Design Studio I look for any new stickers that I can manipulate to use on cards. This set has 8 animals and the cost was $3. They can be sized larger for layouts or small for cards and can be used over and over again.

I've never done anything with digital, a nice printer (mine's pretty bare bones) and/or a silhouette, but I could see it becoming very addicting! Anyhow, your cards are just so sweet!

Thank you nylene for your kind words. I'm not very excited or inspired to make cards lately, but had to pull them together. These will go to Cards for Cubs next year I ended up not sending any in this year. Your cards are adorable, love all those little critters, they are just too cute. Love that you used papers laying around on your desk. This sketch is definitely perfect for leftover papers. Thank you for playing and sharing 😊 Thank you MichyM. Looking forward seeing your cards.

I like this design! Very simple and using 6x6. I love your cards nylene bright and happy! I like Crafty Al’s cards with the Playful Pets paper. I have that paper and would have never thought to use it on a card!

These are my first contributions to the Cards for Cubs box for next spring, I've made 2 sets so far. I realized I was sorely older elementary boy cards in this year's box, so I'm going to try and work on that this year. There sure isn't much inspiration out there for this age range. Or really inspiration for any males above the age of about 7 years old. If you know of any designers who make guy cards, I'd love to know about them! I've been going through older SLoC recently (like a year or two old) so I haven't been posting them. I am so bad about buying patterned paper packs because I like them/they're pretty/really any reason whatsoever, but not using them. I need to make more Sheetloads!!

Maybe we need an old Sheetloads thread... somewhere to share random Sheetloads we've used without having to search for an older thread. I love your cards! They're great for boys or non-girly girls or anyone really. I see you sized the cardstock layer a little smaller to give even borders around the patterned pieces. I like that. Probably more efficient use of cardstock too. After making some I sized a few of mine down so I could get them to 4.25" across to save cardstock. Did you cut them down after sticking down the pp or did you cut to a specific size? I hear you on a lack of inspiration for older boys. I used some skateboarder/listening to music teen boy digital stamps one year. I think music is a good theme that works for a range of ages - boomboxes, headphones, record players, tapes, etc. My 13yo nephew enjoys retro music stuff. Apparently boys are getting less concerned about gendered colors and the like (at least in his social circles) but the adults choosing cards for charities are probably still avoiding anything with "pretty" colors for boys. This video has a list of "masculine" elements that can be combined onto cards. www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6RYIDm_nRI

I made my Sheetload using one sheet of 12x12 paper for the 3x3" piece and a few 6x6 papers for the small pieces on the side - that made 16 cards. The small pieces were double sided so I tried to mix and match them to get more variation. I'm almost out of colored cardstock so I used scrapbk.com's A2 paper for the background color on white card bases. I ran out of black cardstock while I was making these so I switched to a scrap of grey and cut the mats smaller to make the most of it. I think I'll trim the cs mats smaller for any more I do in the future - the wider gap in the middle bugged me. This sketch was a fun way to highlight the kitty paper though. I love how well y'all photograph the cards! You make them look so nice! I need to work on that. Here's mine - I did 12. I'm going to give them to my daughter-in-law - she's a librarian at an elementary school and likes to give out cards once in a while. I used an old 6x6 Doodlebug pad "Dragon Tails."

Don't worry too much about whether the photos are "good" or not though - we all just want to get a look-see at everyone's work!

Because I don't have enough that I am behind on, I am going to make TWO sheetloads and donate them to the Altenew parents donation drive -- 6 Mother's Day/6 Father's Day. I had no 6x6 paper pads. I tried to find a 12x12 where the two sides would coordinate and that seemed not too girly or too masculine, but failed. So a couple of pads followed me home from Michael's yesterday (bonus points!).
Looking at the card sets folks have made, it looks like there are two choices for evening out the matting -- make all the sides 1/4 inch like the middle or make the middle 1/8 like the edges, right? So either change CS1 to 3.5 x 4.675 or 3.25 x 4.375. I'm guessing the reason Crafty Al did them the way she did was to avoid cutting directions with eighths instead of quarters.

Thank you for doing the math! Yes, I think that's right. If you cut to the second measurement you can get 2 across on a letter size sheet because of the 4.375 - more efficient use of paper to my way of thinking, although you'll still end up with a scrap. If my math is correct you get 6 mats out of a letter sized sheet instead of 5 with the 1/8" mat. Sounds like a great idea ETA: don't listen to me! My math is wrong! Ignore me completely.
Sigh...

This sketch was nice and easy, but I didn't like how much white space the measurements called for on the card base. So I ended up double matting them. I also didn't really use 6x6 papers, but random scraps I have way too much of. April 2023 sheetload ish by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr

Wait, no, I don't think I did get my math right... I'm sitting down to cut mats and realizing 4.375 is not small than 4.25 which is what I wanted for getting 6 mats out of one letter sized sheet. I'm probably going to stick my paper down on the mat and cut a border by eye.

On no, I hope you figure the papers out ShaktiI just used the second measurement you suggested, the small border with the 4 3/8ths width and I like it. I was cutting from 12x12 cardstock so I didn’t have to worry as much about conserving paper and I like the look with an even border and gap. I just need to figure out my sentiment and embellishments now.. I’m working on Christmas cards because I found some papers I liked that I had forgotten about.
