Just finished Tiffany Solario's Monthly Reset one. I kinda like her ideas in this one. Nothing groundbreaking that we have not heard before in bits and pieces, but interesting concept the do the monthly thing.

joblackford - thank you - I'll check that out - I was thinking about a open box that I could store in with cardstock dividers to flip through - I don't have a lot but they are not the same size

Nothing groundbreaking that we have not heard before in bits and pieces, but interesting concept the do the monthly thing. I just watched it too. I personally doubt that she'll keep up with her plan - she reminded me of some organizers I know who have ADHD and love a grand plan but don't follow through because it's too grand. But the basic ideas were good and keeping a monthly list of things to do (perhaps when you have no crafty mojo) and checking stock/ordering basics on a schedule might be helpful.

One takeaway I have from Paige's room and from other craftroom tours I've seen on YT: IKEA doesn't realize how much scrappy business they're missing out on by getting rid of the Fjalla organizer boxes! SO SO many people use them to organize kits or collections or Dec Daily type projects... but I don't think they've been available in the USA for at least 3-5+ years now.

Linda the Fjalla had an extra row for storage, but they are sort of similar. I use the Tjog on my desk to keep new products that I haven't finished playing with and things that are nearly finished that I want to stash bust, and find it really useful.

I did like Ardyth's stencil storage. I am shocked at how much cheaper those page protectors are compared to storage pockets/envelopes.
And I think I have a bin I could turn the wrong way like that (like one of the presenters, I forget who, I do not prefer plastic, so I have more woven bins and things like that [which are probably artificial fibers, therefore plastic anyway, but they look more aesthetically pleasing to me]).
I just need to figure out how committed I am to stencils.

I just watched this video by a crafter I wasn’t familiar with papercraftersgetorganized.com/lauren-hind-craft-some-joy/ about punches and pictures (abut might’ve been better titled punches and printed PHOTOS) I fast forwarded through most of it because I only have a dozen-odd punches but about 30 minutes in she started talking about printed photo storage which might be more relevant and helpful for the scrappers here. I love the little folders she created for her photos and think these would be really useful for people going to crops or creating page kits or for anyone who bulk orders printed photos. A cheap and simple solution

Wait a minute...don't you have some Create in Quads stencils, joblackford? Those won't fit in that system in Ardyth's video, will they?

Target is missing out as well. They recently came out with a line of containers that say they are 12in x 12in x 2in but in reality they are 11.5x11.5 so just too short for scrappers.

I only have a couple and I just keep them in original packaging in the pockets in the front and back of my stencil binder (which is just a pretty school binder). I think they’d probably need to be stood up in the back of most flip-through systems like Ardyth’s. I guess it depends how wide the bin is. Because they’re in a grouping of 3 or 4 they’re sturdier (less floppy) than most stencils so I think they’re easier to keep standing up in some kind of magazine rack or bin.

I didn't realize you were a stencil binder person. Good to know your thoughts about quads in a bin system...it's actually the triple slims that have caught my imagination. I loved the SLoC mini slims; I find it to be a really intriguing format. But I hated the way it used card stock. So I think I would go all-in with TE and order card bases, envelopes, and stencils. But that stencil format would work slightly better in that kind of flip-through system than the even larger quads. When I get around to that. Too much else on my plate right now.

The only crafter I’ve watched who I can really relate to so far is Natasha Foote. That’s about the scale of my stash and my space, although mine isn’t tucked away, it’s visible from almost every room of the house and both back and front doors. In fact, the only wall where I could “go up” like most organizers suggest is the second thing your eye catches when you open the front door of my house… so I won’t be stacking it with ink cubbies or magnet sheets full of dies.
So far I haven’t felt inspired to organize.

I’m catching up on a few videos now- super glad I didn’t stay up late or get up early to watch any lives! It is nice to watch them as I work but nothing life changing so far. Very pleased I did the free option. It is nice to see other craft spaces and to have all the organisational topics together.

Are any of the live sessions worth watching? I find live chit chat and Q&A to be pretty awkward or dull so I haven’t bothered with any so far.

Agreed- awkward and nothing new to learn there; seems like a fan girl thing? I am still at the size of the collections people have though!

I am still at the size of the collections people have though! I know - I feel much better about my stash now although it's not nearly as small as Natasha's. I do think that's partly why I'm struggling to relate to some of the tips...when all my punches fit in a single layer in ONE drawer...I don't think I need a punch binder for instance

I just watched the video about storing Tim Holtz supplies on mute with captions (while half-watching Gold Rush on TV, lol) and one thing I noticed was that when all your supplies come from one company there’s more consistency which seems to make it easier to come up with a solution that works for each thing. Or maybe I just like the look of consistency. I guess the stencils are her biggest challenge - stencils are a nuisance!

Disappointed with the Catherine Pooler presentation- just a sales pitch for her products, not any ideas or solutions. Still hoping to find something to help me with paper scrap storage….

I've ended up separating my scraps by brand because I know what brand(s) I'm working with, so I know what brand's scrap I'd be seeking. Mostly important with whites, but works with colors, too, I think. My local SU demonstrator keeps scraps in little plastic drawers (by color, since she's working exclusively with one brand), but I don't like the look of lots of plastic, so I got a couple of these www.amazon.com/Bigso-Ingrid-Drawer-Office-Organizer/dp/B07MVXMQCK?th=1. So far, I can find what I'm looking for. Leftover strips that are a full 12" kind of curve around, but they fit without folding. Really big scraps stay with the full sheets of the same.

I paid the $39 to access it when it works for me. So far, I'm not all that impressed with what I've watched. Unfortunately, I have to agree. I do like that I could access it early. Watching some of the classes over my spring break was particularly nice. The extra resources for $39…if it had been $20, I could understand. Disappointed but not heart broken. I will get some worth out of it…just not $39 in my opinion.

I didn't sign up for the classes, and just watched a few presentations this morning.
The Airtable class got me thinking about Smartsheet, which I use for work. I may set up a free account, and then I can create some forms to log nonconsumable supplies. That's at least 1 good idea from the presentations.
I also watched the monthly reset class - that seems like too much work to do every month, but it could be more manageable to do it once a quarter.

A lot of her solutions to storing her Tim Holtz supplies were Tim Holtz storage products, LOL. I watched hoping for out of the box ideas, as I have a lot of his stuff, and not a fan of his metal storage.

It says in the email with the first day’s class schedule that “all videos are available 24 hrs. beginning April 21, 2023 at 9:00 am EST.” I just went to watch Justine’s video from yesterday afternoon and it says “this presentation has expired.” There seems to be a lot of confusion with the way this event has been presented. I’m not really surprised as the first email that I got when I signed up was riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes. I always take it as a bad sign when someone can’t be bothered proofreading their own writing when they’re creating an event where money is involved.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching some of the presentations yesterday and can see myself using a few of the tips, particularly Tiffany’s once a month clean up idea.
Is it just me or is it hard to listen to people who are reading from a script? It sounds like they’re bored with what they’re saying. Like it’s drudgery for them to create the video at all. The ones who speak lively, really stand out. You can tell that they love what they do. (Like Tiffany)

I agree that $39 is way too much. I would probably have paid $5 to be able to see the videos at my own leisure. But at least you can see them for 24hrs which is what the email said we were all guaranteed lol.

Yah, each day's videos are available for 24 hours so today's will expire when tomorrow's are released. I think when they talked about it in their videos they were able to clarify better than in the communications they emailed. There's confusion between when the live chats are scheduled vs when the recorded classes are - the classes are all available at 9am so they all expire the next day at 9am. Pretty sure all the live videos are available to watch anytime so definitely jump on the presentations first. If you're still interested in Justine's space you can see all of her spaces on her YT channel for free. It's not as streamlined as seeing all the spaces edited together to compare but she has a playlist of her organizational videos here youtube.com/playlist?list=PLr8gz99q-eWUZ4C9NkmXAa6JiVoJNKyE0 and her new space is shown in detail here youtu.be/TfT5quylXkI
