Woo hoo! I intend to get on the waitlist for now. Once I have a better idea on what my living situation will be like at that time I can reassess.

Planning on sitting this one out, or at least until sneak peeks come out and I cannot resist. I'd ask you all to help keep me in line, but since you are terribly good enablers, I know that request is FUTILE

I feel like I should finish with this one before I decide if I want to sign up for the next one.

I'd ask you all to help keep me in line, but since you are terribly good enablers, I know that request is FUTILE I will do my best to give you FOMO! I will do this and the holiday event. I have come to realize this is the best way for me to learn new techniques and find new product. I look forward to it and love the preparation and the build up to the event. I could do without some of the fan-girling going on, but those are easy to ignore. I don’t do any other events, this is my only one. I’m happy with what we get for these.

And have you decided on a specific community yet? Definitely! We've made 3 trips up there now specifically to narrow down our choices. Our top choice is Port Ludlow. We like that it's small town, but only 30 minutes to Port Townsend and Poulsbo, so not too remote.

I’m going to do the fall card making event. I took Thursday and Friday off for the spring event and really enjoyed myself. I did some homework, watched most of the classes with a delay and did not stress about following along. I actually swatched my inks during most of the classes or watched them in bed.
I have only completed the two cards I did during the event, but it helped me find my mojo. Since the event I have cleaned and reorganized the pen and ink area of my room. I have completed swatching and labeling at least 90% of my inks and I made two Easter cards.
I agree with a lot of pinklady and MichyM’s opinions on many of the classes. The fangirl stuff drives me crazy as did CZs singing and trying too hard.

I am going to wait for MDscrapaholic's sneak peak posting and decide about it than. I want to do the Pinkfresh one for sure. I really enjoyed the spring event and I make Christmas cards so it would be nice to have some new goodies for it.

Is the Pinkfresh holiday one only cards again? Have they said/confirmed? I would be ALL OVER that one if it was cards and layouts too. I always love their Christmas collection packs.

Pinkfresh holiday event last year was $175. Hope they stay around the same pricing this year too. I love their events.
I attended 3 SCT events before and could not stand all the fangirling during the events. So it's an easy pass for me unless they release some amazing sneaks and have some newer companies joining. I would love for PF and the stamp market to make a come back.

Pretty sure I'll do the Pinkfresh holiday one as well. I did it last year and really liked all the holiday cards we did. I also think it would be fun if they added an additional day and did some holiday scrapbook classes as well.
Are there any other companies that do holiday cardmaking events?

I'll be signing up again.
I like the SCT events because of the variety of products and the value. I really liked C&C this time, but I had a slightly different experience than past events. For all the prior events I participated in the FB group and watched in real-time. This time I mostly scrolled by a lot of FB stuff, mainly reading what SCT or instructors posted. I started the first class of the day when the second class began, and I could pause and re-start the class as needed without missing anything. I started the next class as soon as a class was done. Not hanging around for the Q&A portion. I didn't read any of the in class comments or watch the re-cap of the day. I felt like this was good way for me to enjoy the event (basically making cards) without the hoopla.
Adding - I think a lot of people like the connection of "talking" with and getting to know the card making celebrities. And I won't begrudge them, but in this stage of my life I'm not into it. I will admit that I've done my bit of fangirling when meeting some of these people at in-person events I've done (pre-covid).
ETA: With the way I took the classes I could take the dog out, have lunch and dinner, use the restroom, whatever without threat of missing anything. I will do it the same way next time too.

This is how my friends and I have done it in the past. 8am MST is way too early to get up for classes We would start with the 2nd class and not stress. We only followed FB for the videos and posting our cards after to share.

ETA: With the way I took the classes I could take the dog out, have lunch and dinner, use the restroom, whatever without threat of missing anything. I will do it the same way next time too. This was exactly how I did it too. No stress and I really enjoyed myself. I can’t sit that long at my desk, so I’d watch a class, take a break and then watch another. Later in the day I’d watch from bed, usually on my massage pad. I actually don’t really enjoy ‘lives’. I dislike the disruption when the host welcomes people or stops to talk to them or when they get distracted by trying to keep up with the comments. Most of the instructors were seasoned and I loved it when they had their support people reading the questions to them. I’m also at a point where I’m not interested in the fangirl stuff. I don’t have a need to feel connected with the instructors. I’m able to see this as business not friends, so I tend to not engage in most of the ott love. I support them by word of mouth and with my $$. I did much more shopping then I intended but I have been very happy with what I got.

Has anyone done one of their Holiday events? If so, what kinds of projects did you do?
I don't do a December Daily but I would be interested in Christmas/Holiday scrapbooking or card making.
