There was a report somewhere, I forget where I saw it, saying the delay was caused by his transport and security arrangements. Or jet lag? 🤔

I believe the security, transportation, jet lag excuses came from his attorney. Since it’s not a jury trial, pissing off the judge that will be the sole determiner seems pretty short sighted. But, truthfully, all of their antics are short sighted. They have the world record for own goals.

Our newspapers are saying he stayed in California an extra day to be there for Lilibet’s 2nd birthday, and travelled to USA overnight. And of course, he left the coronation as soon as it was over, to get back for Archie’s birthday.

Personally, I don’t think it matters one iota when a family celebrates their child’s 2nd birthday - it’s not as though the child has any idea which particular day their birthday is on. Jeepers, many/most 2 year olds wouldn’t really grasp what a birthday is, let alone when it is. I think that whatever the reason for his missing the first day of court demonstrates poor judgement.

The birthday excuse for missing something really important is lame.

For me, it's simply one more case of misleading click-bait these days. I find it tiresome. I don't care who did the exaggerating--H & M, their publicists, the media outlets, whoever---I'm just tired of it. I don't want to see something called a "Crash" by anyone, if there was no crash. I don't want anyone saying it was a "high-speed" chase, if there was no high speeds involved. It's just aggravating to never be able to read something without then having to read 17 more things in an attempt to try to work out if anything remotely true is actually being reported these days.
On a whole, I feel for celebrities in dealing with paparazzi. Beyond that, I have no clue what did and did not actually happen in this case.

Our newspaper is reporting some of Harry’s first day in court - and it talks of something that must have been extremely hard on him at the time: all the reports, articles, discussions about whether James Hewitt was his real biological father. He was 18 when these were at their peak, and it must have been a dreadful time for him. Harry’s first day in court
Of course, it could be said that he shouldn’t have read them, but I think it’s human nature to want to know what others are saying about you. I think it would be a very unusual person indeed who knew things were being written about them, but didn’t read them him/herself. Members of the Royal Family are not like most other “celebrities” because they do not need public exposure or public opinion to keep them famous.
