I really like the Simple Stories line - it's nice and simple and not over the top

I like the cross stitch papers from the paige evans' line. I like the sweater pattern thickers, but do not love the colors.
A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS by Carta Bella, there's something about those Santas that make me feel icky. Again, I do like the stencil, oh and that album.
No to Simple Stories BOHO Christmas. It does have a Crate Paper feel, but I've never loved their Christmas lines. Just a few things here and there.
PEPPERMINT KISSES by Vicki Boutin, there's a LOT there to like, especially the diecut pack. I LOVE the album, but don't want to purchase it in a kit.
THE HOLIDAY LIFE by Simple Stories, not for me except for a couple of papers, I wouldn't mind purchasing.
SEASON'S GREETINGS by stevenduncandesigner for Carta Bella; oh my weakness! Childhood memories from this line.

I like both the Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings for vintage Christmas photos. I am lucky to have a lot of Christmas photos from when I was a baby on up that have not been scrapped yet. I will probably get some of both of those lines for that purpose. I just wish Season's Greetings was all white and not the cream.
Nothing else is appealing to me right now for current photos.

I'm surprised, but I like Holiday Life. I can see scooping up some of that, especially the embellishments. I love the shape of the hearts in the collection. And maybe grabbing a few new things will help me get excited. I am so behind on DD. 2021 & 2022 are not even started and I feel like 2020 is the album that will never end. I did purge a bunch of supplies on the last move and everything Christmas is packed away in a storage box tucked in our Harry Potter closet under the stairs. Here's to hoping July will inspire me to at least pull out and finish 2020.
Moving across the country in December, 2 years in a row, zero stars. Do not recommend. Kills any DD mojo.

SS Holiday Life has really nailed the colours for me - the taupe keeps it from being overwhelmingly red/green, and there is my fave black background floral in there. Do I need any of it? No but.
The Steve Duncan is nice but I really don't use that type of pp and will pass.
The graphic 45 - hard pass. how dreary it feels!

SANTA, PLEASE STOP HERE by Becky Moore for PhotoPlay ( ACOT - non affiliate link) (discussed in PaperAngel's thread here) 2023 is definitely the year of Santa being the main character of many Christmas lines. PhotoPlay's new collection is filled with the jolly old man. Once again, the inclusion of blue and yellow alongside traditional colours is at work to brighten and freshen up the whole look. This is definitely one for documenting younger children's holiday memories.

I am most likely going to get Photoplays stamp and die set. I bought last year's and love it. It has Reindeer as well as Santa and large areas that are easy to color with alcohol markers.

I like the graphic 45 collection - which surprises me a little because I don't usually care for their lines

Am I the only one who gets overwhelmed with Christmas/holiday scrapbooking? I really want to make another December Daily album but there are so many choices and December is a crazy busy month for us! I usually don't end up doing any scrapbooking that month, except for my DT assignments. I should get my act together and pre-plan my pages to make it easier. This year, I really want to prioritize a DD album. My oldest son will be a senior and I want to document his last Christmas at home as a kid before he heads off to college.

All the choices ARE overwhelming. I tell myself each year that I don't need--and won't BUY--any new stuff and just use my stash. Of course, I lie...
I use pp to make most of my Christmas cards, so love having a variety of colours and images to choose from for that. And with scrapbooking--as with everything--I like to have options when I am crafting, so tend to use different collections for different pages. That's my reason excuse for continuing to buy new stuff as the season approaches.
craftymom101, you create such wonderful 12x12 pages, I am sure you can definitely craft a whole DD and make it fabulous. Would you feel less stressed about it if you had your pages pre-planned and mostly assembled? Or if you went with PL pages for the holidays and all you really had to do was slip the photos into the slots you leave? Maybe start a daily text with your Senior about his last December at home, with the purpose of printing them out for journaling?

I do think pre-planning my pages will make a huge difference in how I approach this project. I also plan to ask all four of our kids their "must do" activities in December and have a list of Christmas/holiday traditions they want to see happen this year. Our kids are getting older (17, 15, 14, 11) but they do love the holidays!

Overall, I have found the Christmas collections this year a little bit underwhelming. I could pick stuff up, but nothing I really "need." I was able to grab a few sheets of each the Paige Evans and Vicki Boutin lines, but it was easy to keep it to just the few sheets I wanted. Neither collection really feels overly cohesive to me, so I think I might use them for layouts, rather than a whole album. A friend has challenged me to do a December Daily with her this year, and I am thinking I will pick some of my older stash, both to use it up, but also because I think I like it a bit better than this year's selections.

I'm not surprised the G45 is not my taste, I'm not a fan of the super traditional and limited colour scheme or the creamy yellow base. So far there's been nothing I really feel I have to have.

Lots of people don't create their pages in Dec, or create the base of the page and then just add photos/journaling. I usually make my album during the season, I work best on this project while everything is Christmassy around me, but I usually only get a couple of days before Christmas to actually create. I keep notes every day, even if it's just a couple of sentences, about what we did, or something I want to remember, and refer back to those when I create my pages. Remember, it also doesn't have to be a daily project, you could do 4 weekly layouts, or a collection of highlights of the season, which might ease some of the pressure.

CHRISTMAS FLORA by Carta Bella ( ACOT - non affiliate link) (discussed in PaperAngel's thread here) Flowers, watercolours, lighter reds complimented by soft feminine colours, modern yet classic. Christmas Flora looks like a great purchase for those looking to make cards and add staples to their December documenting stash. These papers would look beautiful with a selection of Paislee Press DD cards, for example.

Oh my goodness. Over the top you say? www.acherryontop.com/shop/company/fancy_pants_designs/line/fruitcake_&_tinselThis is there. I am processing. I don't know if I love it or hate it. I'm all for color but WOW.
Update: took a minute to look through everything and it is just out there. I have decided I love it. I put a couple of the papers in my pre-order cart and added an embellishment set because ( joblackford) there is an elaborate jelly mold die cut. And cats!
But what is it? This collection is bonkers and I'm here for it.

Thanks for reactivating the thread, blemon and the FP share! I need to update this with more lines. FRUITCAKE & TINSEL by Fancy Pants ( ACOT - non affiliate link) This one's for the fans of distressed vintage meets contemporary. If you like your Santas extra jolly, your colours poppin' but your vibe leans towards Vicki Boutin's messy mixed media, Fruitcake & Tinsel might just be your perfect match.

RETRO CHRISTMAS by Reminisce ( SB.com - non affiliate link) Retro with the very unusual choice of pickle juice green as base colour! Despite its reduced colour scheme and classic icons, this line is not for the faint of heart. I'm slowly backing away from it but I'm sure someone out there will love this *special* vibe, especially with those cute glass ornament icons.

Wowzers! That is a lot. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I've seen some awesome retro-kitsch Christmas homes on IG that this reminds me of. Piles of Shiny Bright ornaments and kitsch Santas.

I was struggling to name that pickle juice base they were working with. The color scheme reminds me of the Shimelle Christmas collection which was wonderfully retro but just not my color scheme. Too olive and pickle. I do love those ornaments but someone has undoubtedly got the same artwork on a less 🤢 background color. ETA: I feel like those ornaments were the exact ones in Shimelle's collection, which I really struggled to use. Not much else about the designs reminds me of that collection, but those really do.

The embellishments scream Pretty Little Studio Christmas collection, right? It's an odd but not necessarily unpleasant mix with the Vicki Boutin-esque papers. I just don't see myself using it, especially as a whole. What is with scrapbook designers and their love for those pukey shades of green. I know, I know, Mid-Century, yadda yadda. But oh my, I've cursed Kelly Purkey more than I care to remember for messing a very pretty collection up by throwing in the dreaded bird poop green. You're being kind using actual foods like olives and pickles. All I can think is: "Yuck, we shouldn't have parked the car under a tree."

The daily element is the first thing to let go of IMO. If you like the idea of capturing all the everyday details that's cool, but the project itself really doesn't need to be daily to be hugely valuable. I'm leaning more towards loving the idea of collecting a few pages for each year because I like to be able to see the changes and contrasts from year to year without having to open multiple albums. If pre-planning works for you craftymom101 that might help, and/or completing the pages in January or July.

It's the most wonderful time of the year... When it's bright, sunny and hot outside (for us Northern Hemi folks) and the Christmas collections filled with snowmen, wooly scarves and open fires are being revealed! 🎄🌴 Alongside the usual reveal threads (by manufacturer/brand) on the board, this is your annual traditional SB collection RECAP thread to see all the different 2023 Christmas aesthetics in one some spot to help you compare and make up your mind before you hit the pre-order button. A separate December Daily-centric thread will be created when Ali Edwards and other designers start posting reveals for the DD-specific products. So, get yourself a refreshing mojito and start browsing all the brand new wintery holiday lines. 🌞🍹🎅 This Santa is my vibe. 100000%
