It's the most wonderful time of the year... When it's bright, sunny and hot outside (for us Northern Hemi folks) and the Christmas collections filled with snowmen, wooly scarves and open fires are being revealed! 🎄🌴 Alongside the usual reveal threads (by manufacturer/brand) on the board, this is your annual traditional SB collection RECAP thread to see all the different 2023 Christmas aesthetics in one some spot to help you compare and make up your mind before you hit the pre-order button. A separate December Daily-centric thread will be created when Ali Edwards and other designers start posting reveals for the DD-specific products. So, get yourself a refreshing mojito and start browsing all the brand new wintery holiday lines. 🌞🍹🎅

HAPPY HOLIDAYS by Echo Park Paper ( EPP) (discussed in PaperAngel's thread here) Vintage vibes all around: old cars, old TV sets, light cream + turquoise + baby pink. And a decidedly Steven Duncan-esque aesthetic. This one's just right to document Christmases from several decades ago (and making me yearn for a shake from a classic American diner!).

I like several of the papers and embellishments from Echo Park's Happy Holidays. Several could be used for non-holiday layouts/cards. The snowman on the chipboard pack looks exactly like our plastic vintage like snowman light up outdoor decoration we have.

First off, so glad to see you sleepingbooty. You were missed. xox~ Loving Paige's release and will definitely snag some papers, but some of those embellishments are wonky. What's with the weird shaped heads on the ginger peeps and the Santa head ornament? Just me?

What's with the weird shaped heads on the ginger peeps and the Santa head ornament? Just me? I think she is trying to portray an actual homemade cookie over baker professional cookie. Like when I made cut outs as a kid and when DD makes them, some of the heads get squished weird while pulling from the cutting board and placing onto the parchment lined cookie sheet. Or they even bake up at a weird size.

It's lovely to see you sleepingbooty ! 😍 My thoughts so far: SUGARPLUM WISHES by Paige Evans - I like the pretty colours, a few too many snow-related patterns for my summery Christmases. HAPPY HOLIDAYS by Echo Park Paper - I reeeeeeeeally like this one! I will buy the digital version when it's released. A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS by Carta Bella - Awful colours, dislike it immensely BOHO CHRISTMAS by Simple Stories - I like some of the designs, but again the colours are really not for me PEPPERMINT KISSES by Vicki Boutin - Some of the colours are quite nice in this one, and I really like a couple of those papers, but when you see all the papers together like that, they just don't co-ordinate at all. ETA: I just looked at what I wrote on the other thread about the EP Happy Holidays collection, and somewhere between the 8th June and now, I have gone from "Happy Holidays is the only one that I like, but do I like it enough to buy? Not sure. I will decide when it's released as a digital kit." to "I reeeeeeeeally like this one! I will buy the digital version when it's released."

Eh. Nothing I have to have so far. Of course, that is being said as I unload boxes upon boxes of scrappy crap from my move --- that I dont have room for. And then there's that little thing of not doing last years DD.
SIGH.

Loving Paige's release and will definitely snag some papers, but some of those embellishments are wonky. What's with the weird shaped heads on the ginger peeps and the Santa head ornament? Just me? I'm not troubled by the ginger folks as AC have done very similar ones for Pebbles lines but the Santa and penguin really are throwing me off. It's like Doodlebug and Bella Boulevard got invited to the Paige Evans party. And Santa definitely skipped leg day! But oh, the fun colours! Oh, the inclusion of purple and lilac! It's like walking into a candy shop... Eh. Nothing I have to have so far. Of course, that is being said as I unload boxes upon boxes of scrappy crap from my move --- that I dont have room for. And then there's that little thing of not doing last years DD. SIGH. Congrats on the move! I hope your new home provides you with new opportunities and lovely memories ahead. Sorry about the lack of space for your all your paper goodies, however. Could we tempt you to check last year's DD off the list with a Christmas in July thread? It’s the most wonderful time of the year when sleepingbooty starts the Christmas/DD threads! 'Tis the season to obsess over Christmas stuff for the next 6 months, fa la la la la, la la la la! I reserve the right to change my mind. I mean, changing one's mind is half the fun of looking at Christmas goodies, isn't it? If I'm not Olaf getting distracted by every flower along the way during the next couple of months in the DD-verse, what am I even doing?

Thanks for doing this thread sleepingbooty ! I really don't have room for more. I want to say "no" to everything, but I can't. However, none of the lines scream "buy it all!" to me. Paige Evans - not a fit for me Happy Holidays is my favourite overall but feels unnecessary in my huge stash. I will buy some of the pieces with the teal in them, like the pp of stamps A Wonderful Christmas is classic. That ALBUM will be my DD album this year. I'm a sucker for the black background poinsettia/floral papers - but I'm SURE I own stuff just like this already so the rest will be a "pass". Boho Christmas colours pique my interest - but no. I don't like that script font. Don't like the snowmen or style of stockings. I have my childhood Christmas photos to scrap now from the 1970s (strange emotions. Mom passes = inherit photos I couldn't have before because she wanted them, but now the joy of scrapping them is tinged with loss). However, these papers do NOT match my memories of the era. Peppermint kisses - hm. it's really hit and miss for me - some I love but feel I don't need - and some is really "meh" (the tree paper, the house paper, the foam stickers - no). But there's a vellum/acetate pack, the smaller foam thickers alpha, and both the cut-aparts pps that I really like Eh. Nothing I have to have so far. Of course, that is being said as I unload boxes upon boxes of scrappy crap from my move --- that I dont have room for. And then there's that little thing of not doing last years DD. I didn't know you had moved mom ! Downsized or upsized? We will be upsizing in the next 12 months sometime; I'll be very unhappy while packing my oversized stash, but I think I'll love unpacking it and rediscovering/reorganizing it. The last DD I finished was 2017. But I have not abandoned them at all and have a detailed daily journal for each year so I can finish them! So, of course, that gives me an excuse to keep buying Christmas lines

I love the Paige Evans collection, and have already pre-ordered most of it from A Cherry on Top. I'm taking an in-person Christmas album class from Paige in September and it features this collection. I don't even care that I will have duplicates of items provided in the class; I want to make sure I have it all! I change my December Daily color scheme every year, and this year it will definitely be Paige's happy brights!

A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS by Carta Bella - Awful colours, dislike it immensely Ha ha! I was going to say this one was my favourite so far b/c of the rich colours. I think it has something to do with my experience Christmas with long dark nights, and yours with long sunny days! Thanks so much, sleepingbooty, for gathering all the holiday goodness in one place. We just couldn't do it without you!

I'm just so happy sleepingbooty is back.
Paige Evans - I love it- so happy. I especially love the papers that look like knitting. I need all of it. (I really don't need any Christmas paper, but I'll definitely get this.)
Happy Holidays - Nice colors. I love the starburst/diamond/whatever-you-call-it papers. That stencil is a must. I hate the Santa Claus.
A Wonderful Christmas - This is a bit dark for my taste. I do like the poinsettia, the plaids, and the Christmas tree paper.
Boho Christmas - yuck.
Vicki Boutin - it is very, very Vicki Boutin. I do like some of the papers. I like both the letter and word Thickers a lot. I love the deer. I hate the Santa Claus.
Santa Claus is creepy. There, I said it.

I totally judge Christmas collections on the Santa. I’m in the minority, but Boho is my favorite, love the font and it would go well with my 70s tree I did last year and will probably do again this year. But I hate the Santa! He needs to be cute and happy. Like Wonderful Christmas too, I like that it’s on a white background and has black in it.

Glad to see a sleepingbooty Christmas product thread! It's all about the colors for me these days. I can make cards out of almost any collection but if the colors make me feel happy it's a lot more fun. Paige is a yes, Happy Holidays blue/green/red is a maybe, the dark black floral paper in the next one is appealing but I wouldn't buy the whole collection, just a couple of sheets. VB is cheerful but it's all very reminiscent of past AC collections and I'm not sure if I would find a couple of sheets that go together well and are usable for my purposes. Maybe the poinsettias.

Santa is not great either. I don’t really like any of the other collections and my biggest dislike is the Paige Evan’s stuff. She is not for me. At all.

SEASON'S GREETINGS by stevenduncandesigner for Carta Bella ( ACOT - non affiliate link) (discussed in PaperAngel's thread here) And here it is, the much awaited Steven Duncan Christmas line! While it's Santa-centric, Season's Greetings manages to not dwell on a secondary theme. There is a paper dedicated to Christmas in the city (definitely adding that one to my cart), one to stockings, one to ornaments. It's a return to "basic" Christmas which makes it so versatile and adaptable. The downside for the clean scrappers is that nearly every A-side has a butter yellow cream basis which may irk the white background lovers. But the inclusion of touches of yellow and blue may just make up for that. Thumbs up for the blue parcel with yellow ribbon in Santa's bag which would make a lovely statement for those sending cards or crafts to Ukrainian refugees. And for that jolly deer with the Christmas tree antlers! Also, no creepy Santa detected.

I just love the Santa of the Carta Bella paper line but the papers are too themed for me and too bold. I might grab the puffy stickers and the Santa paper just to have.
The other line is a no go for me. Not a fan of the colors.
