or haul them out from somewhere to use?
I only have my coffee maker and toaster oven sitting out. My kitchen workspace isn't very large.
I always wonder if the big mixers and food processors are used more by people with lots of counter space, so the items stay out, or if people are just far less lazy than I am and don't mind heaving the heavy items from their storage area.

Ours is on the counter, but my housemate makes cakes as a side gig, so it gets used pretty often.

My coffee maker and KitchenAid mixer are out. I started leaving it out about a year ago and I think I've used it more this year than the last 15 years combined...gosh I've had that thing forever!
I put my toaster away every time I use it. I don't like to leave it plugged in, so putting it away ensures I unplug it.
Right now my magic bullet is left out, because I'm dieting and using it every day. Normally, I'll put that away and only take it out when I use it.

My kitchaid is the only thing on my counter. It's heavy enough to be a pain to get out. The blender, toaster, food processor, aren't nearly as heavy. I guess the bread machine is as heavy or heavier, but it's been so long since I dragged it out, I've forgotten.

My toaster, kitchen aid, and crockpot all stay on the counter. Each gets used often enough that it makes sense. I have about 10 linear feet of counter space including the sink, so not a ton of space. There's plenty of room to work though. Or stack stuff, whichever is the case on any given day.
I don't consider it clutter if it's in a designated spot and it's there because it gets used. As opposed to the random crap that tends to accumulate because it doesn't have anywhere else to go.

Coffee pots and toaster are always out.
The person who built our house had a wonderful shelf that pulls out and swings up that is the perfect size for my Kitchen Aid mixer.

Kitchenaid, toaster and panini maker stay out. The panini maker should be put away since I don't remember the last time we used it, but I don't have anywhere to put it. Good thing I have a corner that's not used to stash it in.

I keep the KitchenAid on top of my fridge. I still use it at least twice a week. We grind our own beef with it.

I leave my grape purple KitchenAid mixer out, use it ALL the time. I put my KA food processor back on the shelf when finished and put my KA blender back on the kitchen island (where there is no electricity) after I've finished using it.

Yes, only because I don't really have any place else to store it. The only other thing on my counter is my coffee maker, I don't care for clutter on the counter.

I love my KA on the counter.. it is the bright red one.. I just love it out.. Other stuff is out because I just don't have any other places to put them.. so toaster oven, toaster, blender and electric can opener stays out. I wouldn't mind a couple of things to be put away but not enough room.

The only appliance that stays on the counter is our microwave. And that's only because we don't have a built-in one. Or else the counters would be empty of appliances. We do take the toaster in and out of the cupboard, as well as the big Kitchen-Aid mixer, or any other appliance we may use.

I have a lot of counter space but I only leave out the mixer and the coffee maker. I have a pretty large pantry so everything else gets put in there except the toaster. That goes into a cabinet with a pull out. I like my system but in know I'll be moving/downsizing soon and I'm pretty spoiled now.

I do, but I had my counters built pretty deep. On about 18 feet of L-shaped counter with a sink at the angle, I have a KitchenAid mixer, a soda stream, a toaster, a Nespresso machine, and an electric kettle. Non-electrics include wood cutting board (which I HATE, but DH loves, so I gave him that), a glass cake plate, and a mail holder for MIL who lives at our house part time and gets mail here.
The smaller electrical appliances that are kept in the pantry include the food processor, crock pot, rice maker, and ice cream maker. They get less use (except the rice maker, but it's small and easy to put away.)

I keep my KA mixer out. It's pretty, and I have a ton of counter space. The toaster stays out as well; it gets used several times a day. The keurig has it's own counter space and cabinet. There's a bank of cabinets and about 18" of counter space on the other side of the refrigerator. It's the perfect nook for DH's coffee supplies. We use the lower cabinet for the dog and the drawer keeps all of my meds and insulin supplies.

Just the toaster and the kitchenaid stay on the counter all the time. The toaster gets used constantly and the kitchenaid is too flocking heavy to move.

I have lots of counters, and they're covered with appliances. But the appliance has to earn its spot and be used at least once a week. The KA mixer, toaster oven, bread maker, nespresso, and coffee maker all make the cut. The blender, food processor, and others are in a cabinet.
Rather than call it lazy, I call it bad knees. It's painful to squat down and drag stuff out of cabinets. <okay, I'm really lazy>

I have a lot of counter space, and a lot of stuff.
I'm not a clutter person so it drives me a little crazy sometimes but I have my Margaritaville machine, my KitchenAid mixer, my coffee maker, my Tassimo machine and my Tfal 4 slice toaster sitting on my counters.
The toaster oven, George Foreman, meatslicer , Foodsaver, rice cooker, crockpot and breadmaker all go in cupboards and I pull them out as I need them.

We have a lot of counter space, and quite a few appliances permanently reside on them. If they get used at least every other day, they stay put. Well, the Kitchen Aid mixer doesn't get used that often, but it's too heavy to move all the time. The coffee maker, toaster, mixer, pressure cooker, Vitamix and countertop oven all are out all the time. We have enough counterspace that there is still ample workspace and it doesn't look cluttered, but I would rather not have them all out. In our next house, I'm going to do something like this, so the appliances can all be out all the time, but I don't have to look at them.

I only have my toaster oven and Kuerig out. My mixer is a Breville, and quite a bit lighter than the KA, so hauling it out is no problem.
Wow, @busypea! What a great setup for bar/appliances!

My kitchen aid mixer lives out on the counter. I used to keep it in a lower cabinet, but it was such a pain in my ass to drag it out that I found myself not using it as often as I do when I leave it out. So now it lives where I can use it more often and every one is very happy about that. LOL

I hate having a cluttered bench top (which is odd considering that I am, by nature, quite an untidy person). Plus I don't have a huge workspace. Therefore I keep my big appliances like my Kenwood mixer in the cupboard. It is a real PITA having to get it out when I need it. In my dream house I would have a walk in butler's pantry where I could keep all of my big appliances out on the bench all the time.
The only things I keep on the kitchen bench are the toaster, kettle and coffee machine.

To answer the question, the only things that stay out all the time are my toaster, coffee maker and toaster oven (this because I have no where else to put it). I don't have a lot of counter space but after reading this I also realize I don't own many of the things that others have.

I used to keep my KA on the counter, but it really did eat up a lot of my limited counter space, so it went in the cabinet directly underneath where I use it. Now only my husbands one cup coffee maker is out.
However, we are getting new counters (a little more room) and new cabinets (completely new configuration) so I have no idea what appliances I'll be leaving out. I tend to like the uncluttered idea, but if I don't have room to store my mixer & crockpot in the utility cabinet, then at least one of them will be going on the counter.
We shall see . . .
@busypea, I love that idea and am totally stealing it for my next house. In my fantasy world, of course.

I put mine away. I'd like to leave it out but don't have room. We have a cooktop set into our counters so that takes up a chunk. Plus I have a Keriug and a Rivo (coffee addicts in this house) sitting out all the time and my flour & sugar canisters, plus a HUGE recipe card box thing that is an antique and yeah, that pretty much covers the space we have.
