Iām going to see how long I can hold out and not buy anything Christmas related. Not another die, not another sheet of paper, not another stamp.
I did start the die cutting from the Spellbinders Santa Lane kit yesterday. I had planned on making 10 cards using the santa and sleigh but itās a lot of little pieces, I may have to rethink that.

I finished my JYC blurb trade book for last year but haven't shared it yet so I might manage a flip-through video here soon. I have been working on upcycling Christmas cards from my stash but found out that my preferred charity can't take the glittery ones so I'll probably RAK them to someone doing the swap here. I still have more upcycling to do and I'll probably try to kill a Doodlebug Christmas collection making cards this month.
We're taking a trip home to NZ this Christmas. I'm a little nervous after the Iceland fiasco last year but crossing my fingers it will work out better with 2 fewer family members, more local knowledge, and (hopefully!) no monster storms. I might do a slightly different kind of Xmas photo book since it will be a family trip and also my first Christmas at home since 1999.

Whoa. I guess Iād better get busy then, lol! Last year was my first year for DD and I wasnāt planning on doing it until I was doing Aliās DD. prep class - I just thought Iād throw an extra page or 2 in my project life. I worked on it a bit but then put it aside to just keep up with my regular PL and started my one little word album (Iām not doing that project next year so for dd 2023 I will plan to keep plugging along after Christmas until itās done).
I really want want to finish DD 2022 but I also want to finish other projects I have. Truthfully, I will probably not work on it in July. I will probably pick it up in the fall as that will feel more festive and motivating to me. So my goal is to finish my week in the life album by then so I can be all Christmas in the fall. Let me dig it out and see how far I gotā¦.
Ok, 12 days are complete (doing 26). Could be worse. ššš

Woot! So excited for this thread. Not excited to start thinking about Christmas though. Not at all.
Last year I was like, I'm not buying anything, I have enough.
Then as I started working on it, I realized I didn't have the right things so I had to buy stuff.
So I'm going back to my regular plan: buy what I like, deal with it later. I know I will never finish this project if I don't have what I need when I need it. These books mean the world to me and my family. Every year we go through them one by one. It's now a tradition and I am so thankful for the time and effort I have put into making them over the years. I think this will be year 12 for me. I'll have to count!
I have already pre-ordered a good bit of the new Paige Evans line. I picked up some of the embellishments, a couple of sheets of paper, and the stickers. I like a vintage look. I do not care for the purple but the patterns are great.
After doing this for so long, I know what works for me.
I will get the Paige Evans album if I don't like what Ali has. But I used the AE floral album last year so I'm not sure I want another floral next to it on the shelf.
Fingers crossed I will have a shelf to put these on! We are under contract for a new house. It pretty much needs to be gutted. We just got the appraisal back so I think we'll have a closing date soon. I really hope it goes well.
So glad we are back. I have missed this bunch.

I've just done a quick check on what is outstanding in my albums. My 2021 album just needs one 12x12 page to finish Christmas, so my goal is to complete that during July.
2022 has quite a few more pages to be completed: 10 12x12 pages and 6 pocket pages. My mojo has been a bit lacking lately but I'm hoping this thread will keep me motivated, so I'd like to get 5 pages, either pocket or 12x12, from this album completed.
I also have two last embellishments pulled out that I should be able to use on these pages, so I hope to report back that they've both been used in July.

(Long time lurker here) I have exactly 0 pages completed in my 12x12 Documenting December 2022 album (a mix of full and pocket pages). However, I have all but two photos printed and everything laid out in the album. Most pages have some supplies already in the page protectors. Hoping to complete the album in July Thanks for starting this thread--I'm excited to get started!

I have about half my Christmas cards done. They are very simple, but last year I didn't make any, so I'm happy with them.
I need to do a purge/reorganization of my Christmas papercrafting supplies.

I don't know if I'll be scrapping in July or not - hoping to
2009 needs about 7 layouts
2012 needs about 13
2013 about 14
2014 about 17
2022 (big kids) needs 8
I say about because sometimes what I have on my list as one layout ends up being more
But that's roughly 60 layouts. I COULD get caught up on December in July....

I ordered Sugarplum Wishes (Paige Evans). My mom recently gave me her memory card from her digital camera (she takes pictures but doesn't know how to get them off the camera) and she had photos from our big family Christmas party 2022 I want to scrapbook. I think the Paige Evans line will work well because there are a lot of kids and bright colors in the photos.

I wish you luck as the tidal wave of new goodies comes over us in the next few weeks. It's going to be hard to resist but you can do it! We're taking a trip home to NZ this Christmas. I'm a little nervous after the Iceland fiasco last year but crossing my fingers it will work out better with 2 fewer family members, more local knowledge, and (hopefully!) no monster storms. That's so exciting, joblackford! Can you do a detour through Europe and stash me in your suitcase on the way? I'll be joining the December crafty fun by still trying to figure out a way to get Christmas scrapbooking down to a few pages/year for a 6x8 multi-volume album series. I'd love to go back to 2019 to get a non-pandemic perspective in there. I yearn for the insouciance and ease of those pre-Covid days. Don't know if I want to craft my own dividers to separate each year, if I want to do one colour scheme focus/year or use only traditional colours (seems a little boring to me, to be honest), which stories to pick from each year, how to synthesise all the smaller stuff in one page, etc. So, my July looks like brainstorming and some trial & error as I test some things out in the album. š§Ŗš„ Talking of albums... I just saw this large spine 6x8 album (in spoiler) at Craftelier and it's at such a low price point (under 10ā¬ right now). Ugh, those soft colours, that cute deer face. Send help before I sneakily place an order. I am but a weak creature! š

I am a very slow and sporadic crafter, but I sure do enjoy the process! Have never done a DD, it can literally take years for me to finish a set of cards so that would be pushing it for sure. But I do look forward to seeing yāallās progress, which collections youāve chosen, etc. My goal will be to make a good indention in my cards for this year. I started them last year and am determined to get them completed this year. My preferred method of card making is very assembly line, so last year I did the design and purchasing of supplies and die cut most everything I needed, will have to wait until I finish my backgrounds so I know what colors to finish with. I also learned how to use alcohol inks, that process took me a while. Iād say I have about 1/3 of my backgrounds made. So a very specific goal will be to finish the alcohol ink backgrounds. blemon Truer wordsā¦As methodical as I am in my planning I always miss something, or several somethings, or I decide I want to add a detail or two to my original design.

Normally I am all "Yay, Christmas!" around this time, but this year... I am just not ready yet. I think it is because last December was a very rough month for the family. But I do hope to tackle some Christmas pages in July now that the first half of my wedding album is done. I have not made anything for last year's holiday season... I don't think I even pulled out a paper collection to use. So I think I will start there: evaluating my Christmas stash, pulling some supplies and watching some Hallmark movies to inspire me. Setting small goals!

Yay! Love this thread. You all inspired me to dig out my never-ending 2020 album and see what the damage actually is. I discovered I've got 5 days left but that includes Christmas with my bonus son and his birthday so there is a crap-ton of photos. I may just try and limit myself to a couple of favorites per day in order to actually get it done. I'm running out of room so I need to anyway, but also the sheer number of photos is overwhelming me. I did discover I'm further along than I thought, so that's nice. I could decide to just do the Christmas morning stuff and call it a day so I may ponder that option and see what I think after I finish those pages. *Repeats mantra to self, "done is better than perfect" taking deep breaths, while knowing I'm being silly.

I am working on finishing the remaining layouts for Christmas 2022. I include pretty much all of Dec since almost everything is holiday related. I scrap separately for 2 dgds and a few pages for each of my 2 boys.
The problem is I have kind of lost track of what I still need to scrap. I've organized it at least 3 times. I think I am within 10 layouts of finishing maybe?

Love it! I am trying to complete a folio I put together for my December 2022 London/Edinburgh trip. I keep setting it aside as it is hard for me to scrap Christmas in summer, but I want to get it done as my digital book is still in progress. The one thing that was exciting me about it was I purchased some pieces of the Ciao Bella London's Calling collection, which has a wintery scenes and will work well with our WB Harry Potter visit too. I need to pick out which photos will make it into the folio and figure out sizes and all. Going to try to work on that this week.

Last year's DD was so rushed and terrible because we'd been at Disney World in November (I know, my problems are not problems) and I hate it. I might try to pick it up and fix it. I think I need to purge quite a few things that I've been holding onto, too. I'm not usually "less is more", but might be time to try.
