sleepingbooty When does Ali usually show the first sneak peek from her DD collection? Typically first of August but last year it was end of July. Yep, it varies. Late July/early August. It'll be IG stories first, groovy! We post snapshots of them in the annual DD thread which opens with Ali's first tease on social media. 😉 Ali's past DD products sale was in early August last year for those interested in older goodies at a good discount. 👍

I wonder how the Monin brand compares. We can get that one for $7.35. For mint syrup, I usually get Teisseire or Moulin de Valdonne which are cheaper than Monin here but if you can get Monin for less than Teisseire, go for it. I think Monin's green mint syrup is extra bright green compared to other brands but eh, that's an unimportant detail (make sure it's not the mint from their "Pure" range - that one is uncoloured but also unsweetened, a completely different product altogether). Just don't look at pickle juice jelly salad videos on Insta when drinking it and you'll be fine. 😄 Cheers!

Ratio depends on each syrup due to different sugar content. Teisseire's bottle reads 1:12 for ratio. I'm used to eyeballing it. I can tell by the colour if it's going to be too strong/sweet. Check the back of the Monin bottle and start off cautiously. You can always add and mix with a spoon to get it to your liking. It's a more dangerous game of finding-a-bigger-glass-and-not-making-too-big-of-a-mess the other way around. 😁 #beentherespilledthat

My Christmas project of the day: turning the surplus of apricots from the tree into (mega) spiced Christmas jam. 4 kg/9 lb in and I still have apricots left. My patience to stir boiling jam in my tiny 31°C/88°F kitchen, however, is gone. 🙃

Same! My favorite drink is the Monin organic vanilla syrup with fizzy water. We have a sodastream and it is the best thing ever. If we ever close on this house, I'm going to have a bar cart with all the stuff for mocktails. I can't drink because of this stupid medicine I'm on. But I did discover some non-alcoholic alcohol in the Netherlands so I'm going to do some research and see what I can find here.

I’m watching the end of one of my fav Hallmark Xmas movies - Christmas Getaway, with Bridget Regan and Travis Van Winkle, one of the rare bearded leads. Photography (by his daughter) brings them together! Memory keeping for the win!

But I did discover some non-alcoholic alcohol in the Netherlands so I'm going to do some research and see what I can find here. Let us know about the house, ok? I know you're in a critical stage of the process right now and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Old houses that need renovating are such a regular staple in Europe. I'm sorry to read it's such a hassle and uncertainty in the US. And a lovely vintage bar cart would be the perfect finishing touch for it, I'm sure. Which non-alcoholic drins did you try in the Netherlands? Did you get to enjoy a nice, cold non-alcoholic kriek beer in Belgium? I’m watching the end of one of my fav Hallmark Xmas movies - Christmas Getaway, with Bridget Regan and Travis Van Winkle, one of the rare bearded leads. Photography (by his daughter) brings them together! Memory keeping for the win! That is a cute movie, 100% agree, joblackford. And Travis Van Winkle! I had a full-on Leo-DiCaprio-pointing moment when I saw him appear on the third season of Netflix's You. I was gasping, pointing and going: "Hot viking Hallmark lead guy!" (He was excellent as the alpha male boys club influencer leader in You.)

After watching waaaaay too many videos of paper pad flip-throughs and collection hauls, I'm tempted to buy the Miss Claus pad from Craft Smith (from 2019, I think). Alas, no embellishments available but I like the hot pink (can add in a couple of sheets from Paige Evans's Sugarplum Wishes to accentuate the colour in the album), the city life vibes, the dogs, the modern elegant feel. I don't love all the papers but the statement designs are so appealing to me this year. I want to document the first Christmas with just Luna - sans foster dogs (she was swarmed by three fosters last Christmas and didn't fully understand she was in her permanent home yet), I want a right balance between fun colours and neutrals, I want something a bit different. If I buy this, I will struggle to find coordinating embellishments. That's a given. What do my fellow DD-ers think? Take the plunge or wait/skip?

Which non-alcoholic drins did you try in the Netherlands? Did you get to enjoy a nice, cold non-alcoholic kriek beer in Belgium? Thank you! As soon as we close my Saturday mornings will be spent at yard sales, for sure. And my non-alcholic drink... I have no idea what it was. I just can't remember. We went to this lovely jazz club called le Petit Theatre in Groningen. I highly recommend a visit to Groningen. It's a lovely city with such a fun mix of old and new. The jazz club was super tiny. I had walked by it a couple of times and it was so mysterious. So we looked it up and learned it was not a puppet theatre as we had suspected (sadly). But we went and it was so very cool inside. The theming was en pointe. I loved it. And no, I didn't try any beers at all. I don't really care for beer but I don't mind having one occasionally. My husband absolutely tried all of the NL and Belgian beers and then some, I believe. He loves an IPA and tried to try all of the local ones that he could. As for the paper, I would wait. It's a lovely collection but if it's important to you to have matching embellishments, it might be hard to find something that will work. And there's always something new out that I have to have.

I know I said I was not planning on doing any holiday creating or purchasing this month, but when I received the Canada Day sale info from a Canadian LSS, of course I checked it out. And ended up snapping up a few bargains on last year's items at about 40% off. The package came today and I am quite happy with them. I have the dancing gnome and outline tree die sets, but these are precut pieces of those plus some other fun elements. I picked up three sets. Other diecuts I ordered were these Simple Stories Mix & Mingle journaling bits: And then I got this cute Sizzix set: Santa Activities I think they will work really well for making cards with the Doodlebug collection I picked up on sale in January. I just hope that when I open the door to that corner cabinet to put these away that everything stuffed in there won't spring out and take over my craftroom...

blemon I hope the wait isn't much longer. The anticipation and anxiety must be slowly killing you. Bonne merde (literally 'good shit' - a reference to horse shit piling up in the street next to the theatre if a play was being successful and people were staying to watch it until the end instead of walking out) as we say in France to wish someone good luck! And I think you would enjoy a cold kriek. Try looking for a non-alcoholic one next time you're close to/in Belgium. It's made with sour cherries and tastes sweet! Very much unlike regular beer, I promise. grammadee What a beautiful selection! I love how you've gone for blue shades with your products. So fresh and extra wintery! I hope the door holds up. If not, you'll be forced to scrap to use up just enough of your stash to close it again... Have you already begun your Christmas cards for 2023?

Have you already begun your Christmas cards for 2023? Nope! I snuck those little packages into that cupboard and closed the door. Don't usually start card making until October. Then I scrap Christmas until February. I don't think it is too much to ask of those holiday scrappy supplies to stay in their corner for the other 8 months of the year...

I wish you lived closer so I can share. I use it a lot 😊 Eta I don’t have advice about the embellishments. I use all my Christmas stuff as a big hodge podge with random papers and embellishments and nothing coordinates except for that it’s all Christmas!

Are Christmas embellishments important to you in your creating process/album? I tend to use non-Christmas themed papers so I like having some themed embellishments, but if this were the base of my kit, I'd probably just use lots of labels, hearts/stars/sequins, word stickers, and let's be honest, probably some fussy cut florals.

I'm loving the Rosie's Studio All Wrapped-up collection. The entire collection is $57.99 USD (20% off). International shipping is $20 which seems fairly reasonable to me but I don't know any better since I don't typically shop internationally for scrapbooking stuff. Does anyone know the quality of Rosie's Studio? I feel like this could be the perfect collection to do my baby's first Christmas. www.rosiestudio.com/product-category/all-wrapped-up/

I'm back to do a quick check in on my goals for the month. Despite my mojo still doing a damn fine job of hiding I have actually made some progress.
* My 2021 album just needs one 12x12 page to finish Christmas, so my goal is to complete that during July. Photos are printed and I've chosen one of the recent sketchy Saturday sketches for it. I'm just now trying to convince myself to create instead of watching youtube videos for the rest of the afternoon. * 2022 has quite a few more pages to be completed: 10 12x12 pages and 6 pocket pages. My mojo has been a bit lacking lately but I'm hoping this thread will keep me motivated, so I'd like to get 5 pages, either pocket or 12x12, from this album completed. Two pages completed * I also have two last embellishments pulled out that I should be able to use on these pages, so I hope to report back that they've both been used in July. One embellishment used! While I've been flipping through my album I've found a place I think the other embellishment can go so I've dropped it into the page protector, and just need to make sure I use it when I create that page.

It's a lovely city with such a fun mix of old and new. Agree 100% re Groningen! Great city, very walkable and with a friendly vibe, especially on market day! We spent my birthday there a few years ago, driving out to the bleak and rather beautiful coast north of there. Loved every minute. We have a few non-alcoholic drinks in our collection, the most popular being non-alcoholic gin (there's a pretty standard Gordons brand stocked in supermarkets here, amongst other less mass-market brands). We also have one called Seedlip, which is great but is quite pricy and since it needs a fair slug if it's to be at all noticeable in any mix, that adds to the cost. German non-alcoholic weissbier is always in our fridge, usually Erdinger brand, which in great German style, is marketed as an isotonic sports drink ;-) sleepingbooty, I'm late to the party on the Christmas collections because of our travels, but thank you for bringing it all together as you do! I really appreciate having such a handy reference here xx

I can’t comment on quality as I’ve not bought from them (not my style unfortunately!) but I do get a lot shipped from the USA to australia and think $20 for that amount of items is a normalish postage cost (you can get cheaper postage from large companies but this is not a large company if you get what I mean!)

Does anyone know the quality of Rosie's Studio? I feel like this could be the perfect collection to do my baby's first Christmas. No, I don't. But the collection is really cute. Lots of basics with some fun twists. I think that's a good price for the whole collection. And I can't wait to see this album. Congratulations! It's going to be so fun. I'm back to do a quick check in on my goals for the month. Despite my mojo still doing a damn fine job of hiding I have actually made some progress. You got this! We spent my birthday there a few years ago, driving out to the bleak and rather beautiful coast north of there. Loved every minute. If you ever have the time, I highly recommend Schiermonnikoog (sp?!?). It's the island you take a ferry to get to. We rode bikes all around. I really wish I could have spent the night but it was a day trip field trip for the whole group. There are places to rent and a couple of campgrounds. We have a few non-alcoholic drinks in our collection, the most popular being non-alcoholic gin (there's a pretty standard Gordons brand stocked in supermarkets here, amongst other less mass-market brands). I remember what the bottle looked like. I don't think it was gin though. I should have paid more attention but I was freaking out about how wonderful the vibe was.

I had a scrapping weekend away with friends, and had goals of solid progress in my 2022 December album. I got 10 pages in, and then also completed 2, 12x12 layouts for my regular album. I was very pleased with the productivity! So just over halfway in the DD... feels like I might actually complete the album for 22

Anyone here come across the work of German designer Alexandra Renke? www.alexandra-renke.com/collections/thema-weihnachten I stumbled upon her pages recently having bought some (well, quite a lot, actually) cute dies from Piggy Craft on AEx whose origin I didn't recognise. Now looking at her website, she has some really pretty Christmas collections, quite sophisticated designs reminiscent of some of the gentler 49 & Market papers I think. I can't be the only European to feel happy to find another source on this side of the pond!!
