nylene I hope you are feeling better. Falling is no joke for us oldies. I am finally digging my head out of the sand and trying to face a new life. I have had several pointed talks with myself. I am not the only one who has lost a husband so I need to get over myself. I am lucky to have had such a good, kind, loving partner. We built a wonderful family together. The new house is almost done and I've been distracting myself on Amazon. Thank you all so much for the kind messages of support. I truly count you all as friends. We are having a celebration of life next Sunday. My intention is to get gluing paper of paper soon. With all that being said - - Liquid glue or tape runners? Spring or Fall? Tea or coffee? Cats or dogs?

((((Hugs)))) Liquid glue or tape runners? photo squares Spring or Fall? most places? Spring with the new leaves, flowers, and baby animals...Here in Florida, late Fall please when it finally cools off some Tea or coffee? tea Cats or dogs? cats (but I bet you all already knew that)

nylene! OMG I'm so glad that you not hurt worse from that fall! That is so scary. I think I forgot you are a lefty, me too Are you healing up alright? scrappyrabbit how are you doing? I hope the bed rest is helping, take it easy. That is an excited trip for DD Linda. I'll bet it's a blast. (((hugs))) gramma good to see you poking your head in. Short work week for me and man they made us pay for the long weekend lol. Finally scrapped a little while today with my mom and niece. It was so relaxing. More catching up than scrapping going on though lol. Now I'm here hanging with Rudy. He is into Goosebumps and wants to watch one of those movies tonight. The weather is perfect today and I'm listening to the Taylor Swift concert coming from Arrowhead. Sometimes it's fun living so close to it. I think she's the biggest thing to come to KC since I moved here. It was so fun to see the girls out and about yesterday all dressed for the concert. It just made me happy to see them. The whole city is excited lol.

Extra (((((hugs))))), gramma, as you go through the Celebration of Life this weekend. nylene, I hope you are beginning to feel better and your bruises are starting to heal. joyfulnana, you didn't tell us you had Taylor Swift right outside your window. You could have sold tickets LOL! I finished weeding yesterday. Dh watered everything overnight and this morning. The ground was so dry that the rain just soaked right in so the plants needed a drink already. Dug some new potatoes for supper. So good. Makes all the work worth while. Don't have to go pick up a vehicle this weekend. Dd left dgs in child care and drove down herself this morning. She unloaded the SUV and we unpacked the boxes. I had brought her lunch (including a vine ripened tomato and a couple of pods of peas), then came back to the farm afterward while she was figuring out what to do with the last few items before heading home this afternoon. We will do the extra vehicle ferrying next weekend instead.

Big Hugs gramma thinking of you! I’m feeling ok (physically), which makes bedrest all the more frustrating. Today, I tried scrapping while sitting and got overwhelmed and frustrated with my restrictions physically (and creatively). I took a break and came back to it later, which helped.

joyfulnana - I'm so glad that you got to scrap and relax. How fun that you can hear the Taylor Swift concert! grammadee - great job on the weeding! Sounds like your DD's move is coming along well. I'm sure she appreciates your help with it all - so much work to pack and unpack. (((Hugs))) scrappyrabbit - I'm sure it's hard not being allowed to do all you're used to doing but hopefully it keeps baby safe and inside a while longer. (((Hugs))) and prayers gramma - I hope the celebration of life is healing for you.

gramma - so glad to see you. I can't imagine the huge effort every step takes for you. Popping into the boards is a great kindness to us as you know we miss you and worry about you - thank you! Holding you up from afar. nylene - are you OK - are you improving? Hoping the bruises and noggin are healing! scrappyrabbit - Had a friend recently on STRICT bedrest through a pregnancy with placenta previa and ongoing bleeding. She was - a little neurotic - quite unhappy! Even after the baby came, it took her a while to relax and enjoy again. Hope you can muddle through it in a better mood than she did joyfulnana - cool with the concert! I'd love to see her - one of the few people I'd pay to see - but it's SOOOOO much that I back out because concerts have never been my scene. Glad you had a chance to enjoy pushing some papery goodness around and that you are enjoying Rudy this weekend! grammadee - boy your garden matures FAST! We don't even have green tomatoes yet! I love new potatoes, yum. Half my yard needs weeding badly. I did the veggie garden this week even though it was too hot, but have let the rest get bad. It's either too hot, or too rainy! Went for a hike with the family yesterday, and stopped for fresh strawberries on the way home. We were gonna pick, but they had flats for a decent price so I just grabbed that. I was SO excited to find nice rhubarb at an affordable price - bought a bunch and will freeze half. Eevie (the corgi) ran into a skunk last night at 1AM. DS had let her out one last time before he went to bed... the smell woke DH and I up, and I found myself elbows deep in suds in the bathtub with a mournful looking corgi... So we slept in a lot this morning and I'm having a hard time convincing myself to do anything meaningful.

Sorry I haven't checked in. I saw my PCP on Friday who checked me over. He asked me to avoid screens for at least another week. My brain is scrambled and I find it hard to think clearly. I have found many more bumps and bruises. I hit my sternum which makes it hard to breathe and move. I really am ok, just need rest to heal. I see the hand surgeon on Wed. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. I know I could have done a lot more damage.
Thinking of each of you sweet friends.

Please rest, nylene, and let your brain and body heal. Hang in there, scrappyrabbit. I hope all goes well and you get the rest you need. Saw your pages in the LCDS thread, so it looks like you have found a way to scrap without too much standing. But please take your dr advice and stay off your feet! Poor Eevie, and pour YOU kitbop giving her the apres skunk bath! We had a small dog when the kids were young. She lived both in the house and outside with the other dogs. When SHE took on a skunk, I banned her from the house until she smelled better. The kids--who really wanted her IN the house--spent hours and gallons of shampoo (and tomato juice) bathing her. Even when the worst of it was gone, she still smelled like a skunk whenever she got wet. Glad you got to hang out with family and your scrappy supplies, joyfulnana. Hope this work week goes less stressfully than the last. Linda, what are you doing with the house to yourself this week?

So envious of your rhubarb - I haven't even been able to find the frozen this year. grammadee - more photos I think...Almost done labelling and sorting 1995 and hopefully will get through 1990-94 this week. Happy Monday! Wishing you all a good rest fo your day. We had a restful weekend. We went to our fav beach spot yesterday and enjoyed the peaceful scenery. I ordered some pictures and might do a little scrapping this week. I have lots of classes scheduled and the park concert on Wednesday. Of course I have the routine household things I will do but I would rather think about fun stuff. Sending prayers out to all of you having tough times. I gotta catch up here. nylene, thinking about you and wishing you well.

Good Tuesday evening, Pokeys. Thought I would check in now cuz tomorrow I will be gone all day. Car appointment in the morning, then spending the day with justjac. We plan to watch the Fair parade. After that, who knows? A trip to the grounds to check out the trade show/artisan exibits? Maybe dropping in to the LSS? I know I need to print some pic's some time during the day, and we have book club in the evening. I have been scrapping a little bit in the past week, but not alot. Thought I would share a couple of LO's here. I had told you about my dgs borrowing my camera at the arena in June. Here is my LO about that: When you lend a kid a camera by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here is one of the LO's I have done with pic's my ds's family has shared with me from their trip to Orlando. I have been waiting for years to use some of my Harry Potter scrappy supplies. (And as soon as I heard they were actually going to Universal, I ordered a die of a brick wall with a hole in it so got to use that too) wizards welcome by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Just checking in. The news on the finger was disappointing. Because of the amt of arthritis in my joints the chances are negligible of having a bendable finger after they surgically pull it out and pin it in place. It is not bendable now because the segments don't line up. The decision was to bend it slightly and cast it, recheck it next week and bend it a bit more and cast it. With little incremental bends they think I may have enough movement to make it useful. I hope I can type when it heals, but no promises.
I have been off screens but will catch up with all of you next week. The brain feels less fuzzy, which is good.
Waving to all!

kellyr21 - sounds like you had a great weekend - hopefully this weekend will be also. grammadee - love the layouts -especially the radiating photos! nylene - (((Hugs))) I'm sorry there wasn't better news on the finger - I hope the slow process of bending will work to give you as much movement as possible. I'm glad that your brain is feeling less fuzzy - concussions are a big deal and I'm glad you've been sensible about the screens. DD16 finishes up her big canoe adventure today and flies back tomorrow - I'm looking forward to seeing her and hearing all about her trip and am hoping for some fabulous photos. We've been busy planning the fall. One of DD22's best friends is getting married in October and we've all invited. DD22 will take the train down to us and stay for about 10 days. And my sister and BIL are also visiting in October - just for a couple of days -his dad lives south of us and they stop here on the way home from there. And then we're headed to Virginia for Christmas and New Years. And...we're going to be fostering a cat. A friend's MIL is no longer able to care for it and they asked if we wanted to adopt. We're not looking to expand our kitty family right now but DS31 and DD22 have been wishing for a kitty and even the shelters are super expensive where they are. So we're going to take the cat and foster until we visit them in December and then kitty will go to them. Not sure on the timeline for kitty coming here and hoping that she gets along with our existing kitties

Your weekend sounds delightfully relaxing, kellyr21. Hope you can do a little scrapping and that you can share them with us. Hoping their plan for your finger goes smoothly, nylene, and that you feel a little better every day. Sounds like busy times ahead, Linda. How fun to be planning to have family together, and a wedding to attend. I hope that new kitty is accepted by the current feline residents. Today is dd's birthday. Tomorrow we have a few people over here to celebrate with cake. Sunday I go back with her to get another load of "stuff" for the house and to drive back their second vehicle. Then Monday, our oldest ds will be arriving at the farm with his two active boys (aged 11 1/2 and almost 10) who will be staying here for the week while he heads on to a work site. Okay, off to clean house...

Happy Monday! Waving hi to you all and hope you had a nice weekend. We didn't do much on Saturday. Yesterday, we went down to our fav beach spot again. Then, we went to Five Guys and Trader Joe's. This week I have lots of classes and I and looking forward to them. Didn't get any papercrafting done last week but I did order a card kit and pp pad from Joann. LOL! Can't resist free shipping sometimes. linda- How is the cat sitting going? nylene- Waving hi and I wish we all come come over and help you around the house until you heal. So sending you a BIG HUG and smile. Hang in there! Praying for you still. grammadee- Sounds like you will be busy, too with family. Have fun!!!

What a quiet group of Pokeys we are this month. I think we all miss nylene and gramma 's friendly chatter and kind/pithy observations (respectively) Glad we have Linda, grammadee and kellyr21 still pokeying along, because the rest of us are real slackers!!! The summer season really takes peas off the boards and away from our hobby too. I've just finished another work weekend, and now have today/tomorrow to prep for camping which starts Sunday. I'm really mad at my SIL who announced only last week that she wasn't going to make it camping (this is booked 6 months ahead and she and I normally share packing, planning, cooking) so it's all on me now. Today I was held back by a sudden headache - had to lie down for 4 hours midday and fortunately it did lift so I'm going to try to do some scrapping. kellyr21 - 5 guys and trader joes would be such a fun outing. We love 5 guys but there isn't one in our city, plus the prices have gone up terribly. grammadee - busy times! everyone arrive ok? Linda - sounds like a good time this fall around the wedding! Weddings...and funerals unfortunately...are usually a good way to get family together.

Hello all. Sorry to have been so quiet. nylene - praying for continued healing gramma - you remain in my prayers as well joyfulnana -I hope you're getting some down time and feeling a bit less burnt out/overwhelmed grammadee - I hope your DD had a lovely birthday. Is their move almost complete? Have fun with the grandsons next week - they'll keep you busy I'm sure. kellyr21 - sounds like a nice Sunday! Despite living in Florida, I can't actually remember the last time I was at the beach. We're about as far inland as you can get in Florida and the coasts are about 2hrs either direction kitbop -I'm so sorry about the headache - glad it lifted. What a pain about your SIL - especially the short notice. DD16 is home - she had a wonderful time and took some gorgeous photos. We had splurged on a Go-Pro camera for her and it was SO worth it! She leaves again on Saturday. We'll drive over to Jax early for a library book sale and then bring her to the train station. Provided the train is reasonably on time - we'll swing by IKEA before heading back home. No scrapping here - I'm still working on the 1990s - organising and labelling -Just 1990-1992 left. Hoping to get scrappy after that

Good Tuesday morning, Pokeys. Hope your headache goes away, kitbop. When did you last have your eyes checked? Or your glasses serviced? I find that getting my glasses steamed and staightened out, screws tightened helps reduce the number of headaches I get. And I hope that your family vacation goes well even if you feel now you have been stuck with most of the work. Maybe you can get other family members to pitch in. I left love for your pages in the Gallery. Hope you and Tony have just as much fun this time even if this won't have quite the relaxed vibe. A Go-Pro sounds like the perfect gift for your dd, Linda. I had looked at those for my ds when he started taking motorbike trips, and my dsil who does rock climbing, but the price was beyond my range. Your beach Sundays sound awesome, kellyr21. We plan to go to the lake on Friday, but somehow with three pre-teen boys in tow, I don't think that will be a quiet relaxing day LOL. Quiet here for the moment, but that won't last long. Ds dropped the boys off, stayed the night and left before 6:00AM for his work commitment. The boys are still upstairs, but I am starting to hear noises, so they should be down soon. They came with a plan, and as soon as they arrived started pulling out toys and games and sporting equipment they remembered from before. Had a great late afternoon, evening. This morning the almost ten year old wants to make "square waffles" with me. Dd and dgs arrived in town last evening with the last load. He had spent the day at his day home so he could spend time with his friends there while she looked after all the paperwork, did the last packing, and locked up after the cleaners left. She plans to bring dgs out here today to play with his cousins. The plan was for her to bring his bike as they brought theirs, but it rained last night, so don't think they will be outside for awhile. Guess we will see after the waffles are consumed. Sending a wave to the other Pokeys. Heal smoothly, nylene. Thinking of you, gramma--when does the move happen? Hope this week is not too stressful, joyfulnana. Okay. First boy is coming downstairs... See ya, later!

grammadee -hope you enjoyed the square waffles and all the cousin fun! I actually got to scrap tonight - working on Christmas in July for now so haven't had a chance to check out grammadee's challenges but hopefully will get to at some point. Foster kitty arrives on the 29th - still hoping all will go smoothly. Her name is Mini and we already have a kitty named Mini so the kids (who will be her new owners in December) have decided to call her Minnie Mouse for now and graduatlly transition her to Mouse.

grammadee - hope your energy levels are hanging in there! With a group of boys like that I think you should do what my childhood was like: thrown outside by 9am with the door locked until noon "Play outside" was the order! Hope the weather cooperates for the lake tomorrow! We rarely make waffles - too hard to feed a crowd because it takes so long - but they sure are a treat. homeschoolmom - good job on scrapping! I haven't had much mojo. I did spend an hour the other night by simultaneously listening to an audiobook to keep my attention focussed. I started the Harry Potter books back in March, and just finished them. Audio books are so much slower than reading for me, but I love being able to listen when I'm walking the dogs, at the gym, doing chores etc. It's my first foray into them, and now I need more books to listen too!

kitbop - I just ventured into audio books this year also - I was doing a reading challenge and I couldn't find a ebook for a couple of the books at the library, just audio. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and am open to listening to more. They are definitely slower going though.

Hi. Pokeys! This will be short. I am still keeping away from screens as much as possible. My finger is resplinted and they think I will have some joint movement. My brain seems off balance; short term memory-wise. I have never done so much sleeping. I guess my body needs it. I will catch up with everyone later when I am a little clearer. Hugs to each of you.

Spent the afternoon at a local lake. Got some great photos of sand and water play. And of the snails they were finding LOL. I spent most of the day in my camping chair, but I am still wiped. Checking in here this morning. Still super busy at work and having a hard time finding some balance. The stress has really gotten to me more than in years past. And I've had some big emotional reactions to it, which is also not like me. I recently changed primary care DRs, I've known for awhile I needed to. I'm very hypo-thyroid and I'm hoping once my numbers are back in range I'm going to feel better, and that my mental health is going to improve along with my thyroid. I slept 12 hours - from 7:30-7:30, I never do that but I feel so much better with the extra sleep today. Like maybe I might think about scrapping - yay! I've still kept the Tuesday night scrap dates with my niece, but I'm not putting paper to paper, just keeping up on 2023 in the PL app, and that feels like a win. I've also come to the conclusion that I really do not like summer. It's too dang hot and the heat just drains it all out of me. Thinking back over the year and I see I really am a cold weather person, and I seem to thrive from January to March/April, then it's all downhill. Probably doesn't help that the stressful part of work is during the summer to. But I'm really looking forward to fall and the cooler weather. grammadee I hope your energy keeps up! What a busy time! One of our staple Saturday morning breakfasts when Rudy stayed over was chocolate waffles and chocolate milk (I'm a horrible influence here lol). But in my defense I use the high protein waffle mix - can't recall the name right now. But yes, making waffles is time consuming for sure. And Rudy doesn't want those now, preferring donut holes these days lol. Which reminds me of how my mom used to buy canned biscuits, roll them out, cut them, and fry them, and dip them in sugar for homemade "donuts" and man we lapped them up. I need to scrap that. DS2 is doing pretty well and making some progress. He's in a different "system" if you will, so more intense classes focused on behavior and triggers, lots more talk therapy this time which is all helping. And he has a voucher for rent for 6 months so he can focus on these things right now without having to get a job. They are encouraging him to build a strong foundation for his recovery first - and I love that for him. gramma I hope you are taking care of yourself and giving yourself all the grace and space you need to grieve, I'm so glad your kids are helping you. nylene ((((hugs)))) I hope you continue to improve and we see you soon. Linda so cool that DD has a Go Pro, can't wait to hear about the trip and see the layouts you're going to make! Have any of your kids picked up the scrapping bug? None of my sisters really did, and I have two nieces now that do. They both started once they had their first child. I'll also be looking forward to hearing how the fostering is going. kitbop I love audiobooks! I love to put on my big noise cancelling headset and an audiobook and clean house, or listen in the car. Sometimes I can scrap at the same time, but most times I can't split my concentration that way and need something mindless to do while I listen. I love getting novels from the library to listen to. I'm sorry your SIL bailed on you, and it sounds like last minute too? That sucks. kellyr21 I have to say I'm quite envious of your creative mojo right now, since I have very little lol. Waving hi and sending big huge ((((hugs))))) to all the pokeys. I know I haven't been around much, but you ladies are never far from my thoughts and I miss the crops, even though I would just be yakking and not scrapping anyway lol. Sending you all lots of love and good thoughts

Happy Sunday, Pokeys! How are you doing?
Very quiet around here. Drove the boys to their mom at a rodeo (3 1/2 hours from here) yesterday, and came home last night. We are doing daycare for dd Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday this upcoming week, so I am taking today to just breathe. The weather has helped with that. I need to get out to pick peas and raspberries, but woke up to rain so that will have to wait. Supposed to be sunny by noon. So far, all I have done is drink coffee and sort some photos.
