Fox News is having Viktor Shokin on for an interview tomorrow. In case the name isn’t familiar this is the Ukrainian ex prosecutor that was removed for being corrupt. Gee I wonder what they will talk about? I’m so sick of these people. Aaron Rupar… “we wil all be dust and bones and Republicans will still be relitigating the debunked conspiracies that got Trump impeached in 2019” x.com/atrupar/status/1695136815605317671?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Here is an article from 2019 about old letter written in 2016 Republican senators echoed Biden in urging Ukrainian president to reform prosecutor general’s office CNN — A newly unearthed letter from 2016 shows that Republican senators pushed for reforms to Ukraine’s prosecutor general’s office and judiciary, echoing calls then-Vice President Joe Biden made at the time. CNN’s KFile found a February 2016 bipartisan letter signed by several Republican senators that urged then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to “press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General’s office and judiciary.” The letter shows that addressing corruption in Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s office had bipartisan support in the US and further undercuts a baseless attack made by President Donald Trump and his allies that Biden pressured the Ukrainian government to fire then Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin to stop investigations into a Ukrainian natural gas company that his son, Hunter Biden, sat on the board of. There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe or Hunter Biden, nor is it clear whether Hunter was under investigation at all.Trump called the 2016 dismissal of the Ukrainian prosecutor “unfair” in his July 25 call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying, “A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved,” according to the rough transcript of the phone call. The 2016 letter, sent by members of the Senate Ukraine Caucus, was signed by Republican Sens. Rob Portman, Mark Kirk and Ron Johnson, as well as Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin, Jeanne Shaheen, Chris Murphy, Sherrod Brown, and Richard Blumenthal and focused on longstanding issues of corruption in Ukraine and urged reforms of the government.“Succeeding in these reforms will show Russian President Vladimir Putin that an independent, transparent and democratic Ukraine can and will succeed,” the letter reads. “It also offers a stark alternative to the authoritarianism and oligarchic cronyism prevalent in Russia. As such, we respectfully ask that you address the serious concerns raised by Minister Abromavičius. We similarly urge you to press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General’s Office and judiciary. The unanimous adoption by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Basic Principles and Action Plan is a good step.” Kirk is no longer in Congress. But Johnson signed onto a letter with Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley last week to Attorney General Bill Barr asking him to investigate, in part, allegations surrounding Biden and Ukraine. Johnson’s office did not respond to a request for comment. Portman’s office did not comment. Ukraine’s legislature voted to fire Shokin in March 2016, a month after the letter was sent. The letter was posted on the website of Republican Sen. Rob Portman, who in a tweet the same day expressed US support for anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine. “Ukraine’s US friends stand w/#Ukraine in fight against corruption,” Portman wrote. “Impt to continue progress progress made since #EuroMaidan.” In December of 2015, in a speech to Ukraine’s parliament, Biden made similar calls for changes to the judiciary and the General Prosecutor’s office. “It’s not enough to set up a new anti-corruption bureau and establish a special prosecutor fighting corruption,” Biden said. “The Office of the General Prosecutor desperately needs reform. The judiciary should be overhauled.” www.cnn.com/2019/10/03/politics/gop-senators-echoed-biden-on-ukraine-reforms-kfile/index.html

Ramaswamy TFG surrogate. ELECTIONS Trump Creates a Spin-Off Vivek Ramaswamy sits down for a live television interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News following the first Republican candidates' debate of the 2024 presidential campaign in Milwaukee, Wis., August 23, 2023. By RICH LOWRY August 25, 2023 6:30 AM Every vote Ramaswamy gets is denied to some other non-Trump contender who might be a more serious threat to the former president.Just how dominant is Donald Trump in the Republican Party? He’s so far ahead in the polls that he felt comfortable skipping the first GOP presidential debate in Milwaukee, while on the actual debate stage, his epigone, Vivek Ramaswamy, soaked up an outsized portion of the attention. The 38-year-old billionaire biotech entrepreneur shows that the Trump brand is so strong that it can create successful subsidiaries, the Trump story line so compelling that subplots can be spun off into their own programs. Thursday night was a “MAGA” tag team, with Trump trying to detract from the debate from the outside and Ramaswamy shaking it up on the inside. When Trump declared a victor afterward, it was, unsurprisingly, Ramaswamy — for having the courage and perspicacity to declare Donald Trump the greatest president of the 21st century. If Ramaswamy minds these occasional condescending pats on the head, he hasn’t yet showed any sign of it. He is making history as the first presidential candidate to be in the tank for his leading opponent. Ramaswamy’s devotion to Trump raises the natural question why he’s in the race and running the risk of denying everyone the benefits of a Trump second term. Why should the pilot fish try to supplant the shark? Ramaswamy has learned shrewdly from the power of the Trump phenomenon. The first lesson is that if you want to benefit from the energetic support of MAGA, you have to be pro-Trump. Many candidates, media figures, and social-media influencers long ago figured this out. Ramaswamy’s truly audacious innovation is to apply this insight to his own presidential campaign in a race including Trump himself. If Ramaswamy leaps ahead of Governor Ron DeSantis into second place in national polls, the top of the GOP field will consist of Donald Trump and a pro-Trump alternative who is zealous in defense of Trump’s interests and loath to criticize him for anything. Trump Declares Ramaswamy Debate Winner for Calling Him the ‘Best President of the 21st Century’ ‘Not a Fundamental Right’: Maryland Court Strikes Down Parents’ Request to Opt Kids Out of LGBT Curriculum House Judiciary Investigating Whether Fulton County DA Coordinated with DOJ on Trump Charges The Conventional Wisdom on Trump Is Wrong The second lesson is that whatever gets the spotlight directed your way is a good thing. If it means, on the basis of no evidence whatsoever, accusing all your opponents on the debate stage of being “bought and paid for,” go for it. If it means attributing the hawkishness of Nikki Haley on Ukraine to her intention to get lucrative seats on the boards of defense contractors, why not? If a given proposition is indefensible, it means that you will seem even more courageous to your fans when you advance it or defend it. Relatedly, always paint with bold colors. At one point during the debate, DeSantis objected to questions that asked candidates to raise their hands as childishly simplistic. In contrast, Ramaswamy was happy to raise his hand, reaching toward the sky with the overeagerness of an apple-polishing student sitting in the front row. www.nationalreview.com/2023/08/trump-creates-a-spin-off/

About damn time…
From the War Zone..
”Ukrainians To Train On F-16s In The United States
After language proficiency training in Texas next month, several pilots and dozens of maintainers will head to Tucson to work with F-16s.
In a move to help ensure a steady pipeline of capable pilots and maintainers for the dozens of F-16 Vipers that have been promised to Ukraine, the Pentagon on Thursday announced training for those personnel will begin taking place in the United States next month
Language training for pilots will take place at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in September followed by flight and aircraft maintenance training in October at Morris Air National Guard Base in Tucson, Arizona, facilitated by the 162 Wing.
The training will involve “several pilots and dozens of maintainers,” Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon’s top spokesman, told reporters, including from The War Zone, Thursday.
As we have reported before, training for Ukrainians in language and operational skills is already taking place in the U.K, and Denmark, with many other countries pledging to take part as well.“

Nice guy...... NOT!! Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Friday likened some progressives to “grand wizards of the modern KKK,” Huffington Post reports. The biotech millionaire investor, who is Indian American, called out Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and author Ibram X. Kendi in particular in Iowa in response to a question at a campaign event from an attendee over whether the long shot candidate expected liberals to accuse him of being a “white supremacist” or “what adjacent” race traitor. The greatest racism I’ve experienced ― and I have experienced racism ― comes from the modern left at a scale unimaginable,” Ramaswamy said. The report indicates Ramaswamy toned down his remarks in response to questions from reporters, suggesting instead that Pressley, Kendi and the broader progressive movement would make the KKK “proud.” www.rawstory.com/ayanna-pressley-vivek-trump/

CPAC Is crumbling.... CPAC vice chair resigns amid turmoil Charlie Gerow is calling for investigations into the group’s top leader and its financial practices.By NATALIE ALLISON 08/25/2023 04:48 PM EDT Updated: 08/25/2023 06:32 PM EDT The vice chair of the Conservative Political Action Coalition has resigned from his longtime position on the organization’s board and is calling for investigations into the group’s top leader and its financial practices, among other issues. Charlie Gerow, an attorney and communications executive who has served on the board of CPAC and its parent organization, the American Conservative Union, for nearly two decades, submitted his letter of resignation on Friday. “The situation at CPAC has become such that I felt compelled to resign,” Gerow said when reached afterward. Gerow’s resignation follows months of turbulence at the prominent conservative organization, where Chair Matt Schlapp earlier this year was sued by a former Herschel Walker Senate campaign staffer over allegations of sexual assault. Board member and treasurer Bob Beauprez resigned from his position in May, citing concerns over the organization’s financial reports, while Randy Neugebauer and Mike Rose also stepped down from the board earlier this year. Just last week another board member, Timothy Ryan, also resigned, according to a person with knowledge of the organization’s operations. Ryan’s resignation has not previously been reported. The series of departures by longtime board members — as well as high staff turnover within the organization in the last year — have not prompted any meaningful changes at CPAC, Gerow said. Schlapp has denied accusations of misconduct. *** With his departure, Gerow is calling on the board to authorize an independent investigation into sexual battery allegations made against Matt Schlapp, as well as an independent forensic audit of the organization’s finances, he said in a statement to POLITICO. www.politico.com/news/2023/08/25/cpac-vice-chair-resigns-amid-turmoil-00113078

They best better learn not to push Jack Smith too far.. Jack Smith smacks down Trump body man's claim about leaking sealed informationMatthew Chapman August 25, 2023, 9:54 PM ET In a new filing reported by The Messenger's Adam Klasfeld, special counsel Jack Smith demolished a claim by former President Donald Trump's valet and body man Walt Nauta that the prosecution in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case illegally released sealed grand jury information. Specifically, Smith revealed that the material in question was actually authorized for release by a judge in the first place."(P)ermission for such a public disclosure was expressly granted under a prior Government motion and the Court's corresponding order," said the filing, noting that it included information on a conflicts hearing, the "facts and dates of the hearing," and resulting appointment of a public defender. Furthermore, "In the motion, the Government explained its intended use of the materials related to the conflicts hearing." This contrasts with Nauta, who had claimed through his Trump PAC-appointed attorney Stan Woodward that he began receiving "threatening" messages after a supposedly unauthorized disclosure of sealed information by federal prosecutors, who are litigating Trump's hoarding of highly classified national defense information at his country club in South Florida. "In what can only be described as a brazen and overt effort to influence the Court and/or the court of public opinion, the Special Counsel selectively quotes defense counsel’s submission in deliberate contravention of a sealing order issued by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia," wrote Woodward in a filing at the time. Woodward also represents Yuscil Taveras, an IT official for Mar-a-Lago. All of this fighting comes as the presiding judge in the case, Aileen Cannon, has demanded the prosecution explain why information involving a separate grand jury in D.C. was used in the case. Smith shortly explained to Cannon, a Trump appointee who has tried only four cases before and has a history of controversy surrounding her interference in the case on Trump's behalf, that his use of another grand jury's material is standard practice, and also outlined Woodward's potential conflicts of interest in representing Trump associates in the case. www.rawstory.com/jack-smith-smacks-down-nauta/

Jacksonville Florida.. Dollar General store, Kings Rd(?) Shooting multiple fatalities... THREE
Unknown whether all inside or outside or both.
Shooter, white male, early 20s, was barricaded inside which delayed entry. Had AR type weapon and a Glock. He wanted to kill Black people. Manifesto was specific to killing Black people.
Shooter dead.
It appears that he went to a very close HBCU, Edward Waters University one mile away, but he was confronted and apparently left and went to the nearby store. ***
Shooter texted his father about 1:20 and told him to look at his computer. Father found the manifestos and immediately called the Clay Cty police, where they lived. By then the shooting had already started. He worn a tactical vest and a mask carrying the guns.
He had 'Baker Acted' in 2017. The Florida take away guns for a while..
Very angry dangerous young man.

CPAC. More sexual assaults by Matt Schlapp reported.. One day after a top Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) official resigned and encouraged further investigations into Chair Matt Schlapp, who was accused of sexually assaulting a Herschel Walker Senate campaign staffer, new allegations surfaced. Now, the Washington Post has a scoop alleging there are at least two more purported incidents that could be investigated. "In addition to that lawsuit, some board members and staffers have been told about other incidents involving Schlapp, 55, and two younger men, multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation said," The Washington Post reported Saturday. "In one incident, a staffer said Schlapp attempted to kiss him while drinking late after a work function in 2017. The staffer also provided documentation from that night to The Washington Post showing physical contact that the staffer said was unsolicited." The report continues: "In another incident, Schlapp allegedly made unwanted physical advances on someone else’s employee during a CPAC business trip in Palm Beach, Fla., in early 2022, according to multiple people informed of the incident. The alleged victim did not respond to requests for comment." www.rawstory.com/cpac-2664468658/

This was the third or fourth mass shooting I have read about in the last 24 hours. There was one in CA and another in Fl. I think. I was going to “share“ the news like I usually do didn’t have the energy.
I’m beginning to understand why so many check out and basically ignore what’s what’s happening around them. I kind of did that this afternoon by ignoring the news and listening to music. I forgot what a great singer Johnny Mathis was.
But checking out doesn’t change the fact this country really is in trouble.
I have the Drifters on now. They’re singing “Up on the Roof” great song.
Well we’ll either get our act together and fix this or we won’t. My guess is we won’t.
Now the Drifters are singing “Under the Boardwalk”.
ACYN..
”Acosta signing off: We should make this a better country. This has to stop”

Kevin McCarthy, impeachment nearing... Where is the evidence??!??! youtu.be/O9Pmp_oj2Fw?si=ksImCAiz2ek07vaZ"Well, Maria, first, you've got to understand only because Republicans took the majority have we found out what President Biden told us when he was running for office is not true," McCarthy replied. "We now found out as he was a sitting vice president, the family created 20 shell companies. They received 16 of 17 payments from Romania while he was vice president. We now found that the money would flow to nine family members."

If I’m not mistaken the majority of mass shooters either kill themselves or are shot by the police in a gun battle. Knowing that mass shooters keep popping up. So what Pence is suggesting isn’t going to be any kind of deterrent.

You could have simply condemned what the original post was about but you chose not to do that. Clearly what the Sieglers have done (not only to the woman who was the victim but also the damage they have done to the country) does not bother you.
