Wrist update: possible hairline fracture at the growth plate. There is a bump there. We have to go to a fancy peds x-ray person in 7-10 days (read $$$) to see if it has gotten better or worse. Brace until then. No band. She has two parades, two band spectaculars, and a game in the next 7-10 days. She is going to have to march with no clarinet! Poor kid.

As a former band kid (grade 3 thru 12) who did marching and concert band I know how hard that will suck. I was out most of marching season Jr year due to my knee. I hated watching everyone March while I sat in the grandstands. |

I am going to work on my Halloween album this month. It is an orange Citrus Twist album. The Instagram post shows my basic plan. My daughter is 6 and I have the 4x6 photos of her costumes already printed and in the pocket protector. The journaling spot is giving me trouble. What details about the costume would you put? This is my start. Costume Year: 2017 Type: Dinosaur From: Costco I see you got other recommendations, but oh my gosh! You're daughter is so adorable!

Over the weekend, I made my kid socialize with people in public. We parked at the farmer's market, walked to a store that was having a sidewalk sale, and ended at the town pumpkin walk. After, I rewarded him with lunch at a local restaurant. All of the photos I took of him, he looks so annoyed.  It looks like he's saying I hate you. I was exhausted. I may or may not try merchant trick or treating. Only if the weather is good.
In the last two days, I've made three Halloween cards and found one behind my TV from last year. My son loves to throw. I put up some decorations and will post photos later.

Ideas needed please:
Because of the layout of the album, I need to contain the story of the camping trip to a single page or insert so it’s front and back.
So I could make a little book, stitch up a pocket or sleeve, basically something to house multiple photos.
I do not have any fall or camping themed vellum, that I know of.
Any links or photos to share?

I can't seem to find the video (it's older, like the one above). You need a photo turn or something like that to make it stay put when you're not looking at the photos.

Ali did a little booklet in her DD a few years ago and had a YouTube video on it, pretty sure. It was a trip to NY, I think? And it was set up like a travelers notebook and she made a pocket to hold it.
Also, I make waterfall flips a lot because in my world, more is more! I refer back to a YouTube video from Patty’s Crafty Space called Waterfall Flip Tutorial. I’ve made different sizes but just used hers as a reference, which I thought was very clear and helpful.

Ali did a little booklet in her DD a few years ago and had a YouTube video on it, pretty sure. It was a trip to NY, I think? I did this too! I took a trip to Disney with my friend and copied that idea from Ali. I found a glassine envelope that's about 5X7. I put a piece of paper in it and you can see through it really well. So I think I'm going to cut tags that fit inside with my camping/fire paper and then back them with photos. I have some of the layered templates where you can stick photos right in. I can get a lot of photos in that way without putting too much weight in this. I'll use an attacher to put it in because I think this would tear if I punched it. I have an idea to put a little sticker on the back at the bottom. I have so many camping embellishments that I love to use. We haven't done a big trip camping since 2022 and that was not our usual 3 weeks. We missed 2021 and 2020 because of COVID and other trips. 2019 was our last big one. In other hilarious news. I'm working on my day whatever and it is about this pathetic meal I made for myself when everyone else was gone. I call it home alone charcuterie. I'm stamping charcuterie and I mess up and spell charcutie. Luckily I had another piece of that paper! Started it over. Geesh. Made me laugh though. |

We watched Renfield (Nicolas Cage) on Amazon Prime the other night. Very OTT bloody gore but hilarious and fun. I loved all the background details in Renfield’s apartment. I crocheted through all the people getting stabbed with other people’s ripped off limbs. Also Awkwafina is in it.

Love seeing what you all are making and documenting this October. I've been taking pictures and notes for October Daily and printed the IACB/FYC October Moments cards and elements.
I thought I had a 4x6 album in my stash to start putting this together. But I just have lots of page protectors.
It looks like Simple Stories discontinued this size binder. Do any other mfg make a ring binder this size?

If you have any memories of whether the costume was a nuisance or inappropriate for the weather or if it was a popular costume that year or why you/she chose it would add some more details and feelings to the journaling. If you don't you could just add a star (or ghost) rating. I love the ghost rating idea. I found a filled and hollow icon to use. On DSD I bought Paislee Press Fall Magic 2 stamps. Mostly for the costume check boxes. Trying to work on it this week.  |

I'm starting to make some progress on my album and to finally feel excited about it.
I think I was overwhelmed at first. I like making foundation pages, playing with paper, painting, stitching.
I really don't like having to print out my damn photos.
Friday I got my COVID booster (I was schooled by the pharmacist and was told it's now a yearly shot and not a booster). I was on the couch all day Saturday. I do not react at all to the flu shot.
So for days 7, 8, and 9 I used one pocket page for one day's events: my going to an art walk thing, my daughter going skating, then her trip to urgent care. I just do stories with no dates. I had seen Serena Bee do something similar and it was like a revelation for me.
Then day 10 I used that skull page where you pull down his jaw for the story. I used the photo I took of my new Finkelstein mug. Day 11 will be a picture of my cat sitting behind the thin curtains in the kitchen window so all you see is his silhouette.
So I think I might be able to catch up a bit this week. I love making these layouts and this really is the only time I take for myself so it's really important to me.
Gotta keep it simple.

I'm taking pictures and making mental notes. I want to make some pages but I'm stuck on the overall mood of the album. Some activities blend well with cutesy Pumpkin Spice Doodlebug, but I don't want a whole Doodlebug album and I'm not sure how to blend it with the softer, more "mature" feel of my other supplies. So I've decided to wait to see what the month's pictures look like as a whole and make my album in November.
This is my first OD and I'm finding it a (good) challenge to combine "fall" and "Halloween." Much harder for me than DD.

Well we are a bit sad. Our favorite pumpkin patch and real farm is on quarantine from the fruit fly that is in southern Ca. So no pumpkin patch this year. No finding the great pumpkin. I told DD we will just use my big plastic light up pumpkin from Costco. I do have 2 pumpkins from the store by the fire place but I like to keep those through Thaksgiving. ETA there are several farms in my area that have been in the families for generations. And this is having a big impact on them financially. I am surrounded by citrus groves so this will hurt the co-ops with corporations too. And this affects our lettuce farms, citrus, avocados, pumpkins, etc etc etc |

I guess my contribution to October Daily is just doing something Halloween related and seeing if it gets close to 31 days. 😄 I made a page for my family album and the Halloween album. The Superman page accidentally got adhered too soon, so it's a little crooked. Also, a question. What do you use to adhere sequins? I had issues!   |
