Gah....I am liking most of the shop items. But does one really need so many wooden stars? Stiched tag pockets? Plastic tags?

Ugh I really like Liz's kit although it feels very thin. There is no way that won't sell out. So now I'm stuck with the shipping fee..... and for once I'd buy the stamp For the first time, I think I will be ok just getting a digital of this kit. It's all so flat and thin. And the calendar wont work well in a smaller album.

it’s my godson’s first Christmas. I can’t figure out what to do right now. My other option is to use whatever I’m creating for the Crop & Create Holiday album class. It’s some SS Boho Christmas line. I’m not a boho person when it comes to scrapping though. I know Boho Christmas was poorly received on the board but I kind of like it. I think the soft colours are beautiful for a young child, too. The Santa in this collection looks very kind as well. There are a bunch of banners included in the embellishments. And that lovely set of retro numbers that I'll definitely buy. I feel like all those rainbow inclusions give it a childhood vibe so maybe one to consider for your December memories after all? At first I was just going to get it because it’s perfect for a set of Christmas photos I want to scrap from the early 80s, both color and style. But while going back and forth deciding what to order it’s really grown on me and I’m looking forward to using it.

I will probably get her stamp, though, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about the stamps selling out. I still like the green floral album, and I'm afraid it will disappear within the first few minutes. It's so easy to get overwhelmed...I like everything except those sinister nutcrackers. I'd love the main kit, but there is no way I could use all of those elements. I know I can make a lot of embellishments on my own. I think I'll get the die cuts and the specialty paper. I'm going to try to stay under $100. I like the idea of printing out the PDF and crossing out the things I don't want/need. I'll go through my stash before committing to anything new.

Will someone please remind me that all my 6x8 albums are the two ring system so, as much as I love that green floral album of Ali’s, I don’t need it because none of my refills will fit it? Please remind me of that! I only want that album and the enamel pin. I don’t want to hole punch all my album refills and shipping would be stupid for just the pin. Sigh…
I took another look at the SS Christmas Boho line. It’s not as bad as I remember. (That sounds horrible…I didn’t meant it to!) I like the colors and will enjoy having the hard word done ahead of time. The class is using a SS flip book. I asked Jess Forster if it’d be easy to modify for a 6x8 ring album and she said yes. Now I just need to find a ring album I like that matches. The Scrapbook com forest green looks like it might go. I may just stick with the smaller rings for now. Because I don’t need Ali’s gorgeous six ring album…right? 👀

I’m new to ordering products from Ali Edwards. If I only want, say, one stamp set, how would shipping work?

I like bits and pieces of it.. but with what works out to be AU$45 for the shipping I can’t just justify a few bits and pieces. I still have heaps of nice stuff in my stash, so I think stash it is. Unless some things I like are still available after the boxing period when shipping goes back to normal rate.

For those debating about Liz's kit digital or physical. I have bought several of her past DD kits in digital and they are so versatile. You don't get the gold foiling, which is gorgeous, but her stuff prints nicely. Another really high value item in digital is the die cut page inserts - especially if you have a Silhouette or similar machine. I have cut out all kinds of gorgeous papers into the die cut shapes and love the versatility. blemon I absolutely have an insane amount of stuff!!! AND, this is always my very favorite product purchase every year so I will review my stash for anything highly duplicative, but I will also give myself permission to buy. I also think I am going to do a couple of RAKs of stuff that I need to just clear out but someone else can use. I wish shipping was not so expensive or I would RAK even more stuff. One thing I already did was evaluate what percent of last years purchases I used. For example, I used close to all of the specialty paper pack (and I had bought 2!). But I only used a couple of stitched hearts. So I went through each item to see what I really used vs just liked to help me make my list this year. Hopefully that prevents my buying stuff that I typically don't use. My working list so far: Green Album Main Kit Plastic tag set Variety die cut bundle - I actually had a fair amount left over last year, but the bundle is HUGE. Stitched tags Felt stars Plastic red numbers Specialty paper pack Maybe: Journal Card set Paper Pack Gold Foil Puffy Letter stickers Floral Art Journal Tag Chipboard sheet And not sure about stamps. I tend to like how Ali's Stamps look but not actually use them

If you love it that much it might be worth it to put on a Christmas movie and get to punching. Not that I’m trying to enable you…

Not that I’m trying to enable you… lilacgal I agree! The album comes with some page protectors. And it's really not that hard to punch more holes since the simple stories line up. I just clip with with tiny clips and do a couple at a time. I have a cropodile but it's not necessary with just plastic.

Hopefully that prevents my buying stuff that I typically don't use. That's a good idea. I used 3 of the hearts but there were six. That's a lot. I probably will not use them this year. I'll wait a couple of years until they feel fresh again. I just went through everything and packed up a gallon sized bag of stuff to donate. It's not full or anything but I really need to cull this down. I really love Christmas and love little santas and elves and holly and stuff but I don't necessarily use all that. I need to do a purge immediately after the album is done when I'll be better at discerning what I don't use.

I really like most of Liz's kit and feel it would fit well with my style. I'd end up breaking it down and using it as the base for a couple of smaller kits, one that was soft pinks with the red, and the other soft aqua or minty green with the dark green. The navy pieces would get used in my 12x12 album, so there's very little that I think I'd struggle to use.
Assuming it and the star album don't sell out before I get online I will likely end up ordering it.
I'm on the fence about her stamp set, I can't tell if I like it because it's pretty, or if it's something I'd get a lot of use from. If I miss out on the album or kit then it will be an easy pass on the stamp set, but if I get both I may end up adding this to my box as well.
I can't believe I'm actually ordering from Ali this year. While I always enjoy looking at the (gazillions of) offerings, I don't usually find anything I'm excited to own.

I really like the tapestry 🙈
Everything else is "that's nice but not me" kind of lovely. Even though Ali's gone towards more hands on artsy/crafty the kit feels very.. adult and rigid maybe? Despite the sheer amount of product it doesn't feel very playful to me.
I'm not a gold girl at all but the green/gold/cream looking album is pretty and I like seeing wonky hidden mickeys within the berries.
I like the font on that big number stamp too. The silk screening takes me back to like 2014 Studio Calico and it can stay there lol

You can find a photo of it on Ali's blog post today: DD 2023 Overview and PricingYou can see it in the Shop Collection video: Shop Collection on YouTube

Okay, I’m not sure how this happened but I really like most of what is being offered this year compared to previous years. I went through all the products that I like and the total cost is very pricey. $241.00 and this figure factors in the cost of shipping and sales tax in my state (10%). I am definitely getting the green floral album and the mini kit but I need to pare down on the other stuff I guess I have until Tuesday to figure this out.😳

I’m looking through Ali’s Instagram Stories tonight to see some of the shop items and someone please explain the wording of this tag to me: “December me loves this so much” What does this mean and why is the wording so terrible?!? My guess is it’s a mistake and rather than eat the cost, they are including them, hoping people won’t complain too much because this is terrible. It is late and it’s been an extremely long week so maybe I’m missing something?

College drop off was much easier this go around, but damn I’m gonna miss my kid. She’s simple the best.
Looking at ALL the items, and it feels like SO much this year, I may end up with Liz’s kit. I don’t love it, but it’s more my style with smaller patterns. A little dark, not enough pink. Just not sure I have it in me to buy separate pieces from different places and hope they all coordinate. I kind of suck at that.
Looking forward to see what ends up on everyone’s wish list this year.

Peas, apart from that “December me” quote I really need to understand, why they have changed the packaging for the advent calendar? I get the envelope replacing the box but why the hell would you have plastic sleeves over vertical 4x6 cards… at the very least wouldn’t horizontal 4x6 cards make more sense? Isn’t the whole swap from the plastic storage to save the environment ruined by this??? **whispers** and I don’t like the advent calendar this year and for the last two years I only placed an order as I wanted it so badly…

I liked the envelopes better. The plastic on every days thing is really unfortunate and gross.

I also found the mini kit to be light. Dang, I tried to talk myself into buying it but ultimately took it off my list.
I'm also passing on the advent calendar. I don't love enough in it to justify $45.
Otherwise, I'm still spending over $300. Last year I talked myself out of a bunch of items & when I finally came back to my senses, they were sold out. I'm not playing that game this year.
I have a question, if anyone knows the answer. When you're signed in and the time hits when this goes live, do you need to keep refreshing or it will just pop up for you to start shopping?
