I also found the mini kit to be light. Dang, I tried to talk myself into buying it but ultimately took it off my list. I'm also passing on the advent calendar. I don't love enough in it to justify $45. Otherwise, I'm still spending over $300. Last year I talked myself out of a bunch of items & when I finally came back to my senses, they were sold out. I'm not playing that game this year. I have a question, if anyone knows the answer. When you're signed in and the time hits when this goes live, do you need to keep refreshing or it will just pop up for you to start shopping? you have to refresh until the Dec Daily tab shows on the main screen so you can get to the products

Peas, apart from that “December me” quote I really need to understand, why they have changed the packaging for the advent calendar? I get the envelope replacing the box but why the hell would you have plastic sleeves over vertical 6x8 cards… at the very least wouldn’t horizontal 4x6 cards make more sense? Isn’t the whole swap from the plastic storage to save the environment ruined by this??? There’s no way those are 6x8! I assumed they’re like 4x5. Did she say they are 6x8? I liked the envelopes better. The plastic on every days thing is really unfortunate and gross. Sorry I meant the cards are 4x6 😁… I’d be able to use horizontal ones easily, vertical are not as useful!

Would the boho stuff look ok in that album? 🤔 I think the colors of the Boho christmas look very similar to the colors of the AE stuff this year so I think it would be great. I personally mix all kinds of collections and don't worry about it. But the insides of the albums have different patterns that are more subtle so anything will work. wonky hidden mickeys within the berries. I need to take a closer look! I didn't realize someone had Disney on the brain more than me. I’m looking through Ali’s Instagram Stories tonight to see some of the shop items and someone please explain the wording of this tag to me: I cover up most sentiments with pattern paper or something else usually. I read it how she intended right away but now that everyone is asking about it, I can't see it any other way than some sort of cookie monster/elmo speak.

What do the peas think of the stubby tag set? I'm having a hard time other than 2 by 2 pockets of using them

I like a lot of the shop items. I’m going to spend time this weekend being thoughtful with what I have and what I will really use and then try my best to stick to the plan and not let FOMO win. The problem is I’ll do good for a couple days and then hear somethings running low and toss it in my box. They make it too easy- “I already paid shipping - it’s basically free” 😂😂

Either way you could place in a photo or use as a title or just as an embellishment. I’m getting the the plastic ones. I already have a similar stamp set (that I’ve never used).

My first thought was to scraplift a Steffi Ried LO for these mixed with paper tags: I think they'd also be cute with a photo or journaling sewn onto the bottom, or peeking out of a pocket.

I'm having a proper sit down with the videos and photos this morning with my coffee and I'm in trouble.
Yesterday, I liked just a few things. I thought this would be a light year.
This morning? ALL THE THINGS!

I like to think it'll be easier to use them in my albums, because you can pop them into a 3x4 pocket or 4x6 easy peasy. They're basically the only item I'm loving from the release.

Did Ali say if the green album was designed by Liz or not?

Question: is there any advantage of silkscreen over stencils?
I watched Ali’s demos and they look so annoying to deal with. I guess it’s nice they stick down, but the washing and waiting to dry, and loss of stickiness after only a few uses all seem like big disadvantages. And are they only for paint? Would inks (which I’d guess more crafters have inks rather than paints) work just as well?
I’m trying to figure out why’d they bring back this old school tool.

Do the digital supplies come out the same time physical supplies are released? Are the prices usually comparable to last year’s digital prices I see in the shop?

honeypea It seems like they brought it back because Ali has gotten into mixed media again with her daily pages and art journal. Personally I think stencils are easier to use & clean and have more shelf life. Also after spending (wasting) gobs of money on Dylusions paint tubs I will never buy my paint in jars again. My experience was paint is messy and gets on the threads of the jar. Even if you are diligent about cleaning them and put vaseline on them they don’t seal 100% and the paint dries out usually before you can use it up or you can transfer the paint to a squeeze bottle which is a pain in the ass. ETA: For me stencils are also more versatile. You can use paint, ink, spray ink, texture paste, etc. For those who struggle with paint and stencils you are using too much paint. You need the most minimal amount. The makeup sponges work well and dab off the paint first on scratch paper or a glass mat. It takes a little practice.

Since Ali brought Cookie Monster to the DD game... 🎵🍪 December Daily me want it but me wait! 🍪🎶 (An inspirational song for those who want just one or two small things from this release and have to hope for the best after the boxing period - and flat rate cost - ends.)

I just watched the AE videos and I don't think I'll be ordering any physical products but will grab some of the digitals. I was surprised by how much I liked some of the stamps. Liz's stamp is adorable.
All in all, it left me missing Felicity Jane which was just way more my style. I think I may end up going with Elle Studio, my stash, and digital products this year.
Anyone else annoyed the albums had silver rings when they had gold on the albums? For some reason that really bugged me.

So I have made a spreadsheet for what I HAVE to have and what would be cool if its there later. Some things I know I am going to get, knowing I will sell off some of them (like the stars and plastic tags. No one needs that many). On the fence about getting an album or finding something else to use (either from my stash or Citrus Twist). For stamps, I like some of them but not ready to commit Probably will end up doing digital on them.

But I know me, I'll end up adding the white tabs, a slick writer pen and the red numbers. Grhhh. One of these days Ali will have a release where I want nothing!

Much easier to use, too. But they need to be washed right away and pressed down perfectly if you want to reuse them.

I keep going back to the blog post and looking. I haven't liked (or bought) a main DD kit from Ali in over 5 years? Maybe longer. I generally don't care for the colors and handwriting, or the large graphics (hello Joy???) she uses. But I always like some of the add-ons, and my stash is now ginormous. I don't trust KP to come through this year. I love alot of the AE add-ons (as usual, but I don't need 30 of each thing. And I am really really over all the gratuitous plastic that she uses, both for packaging, but also for embellishments, all why talking about reducing waste.... Anyway I need to get off my soapbox...
Anyone know how many pages (in page protectors) the 10X8's will hold? Like, stuffed full, but not looking like a slice of pie from above? LOL

I love silkscreens and had been asking for awhile that they make more so I was happy to see some this year. I am still debating on what to get I like many things but I am mostly struggling with an album choice. I want 6x8 but I do not like the green and I wish the white album had red or green stars or both. I don't like that it is so similar to 2019 album. I do have a green travel album that I am debating on using instead.

My must haves are wood stars, plastic tags, canvas circles, and Gold tabs. I think those things are in most danger of going first (from other things I like) so I’ll quickly order those and then consider If I need more. Next up for me include the die cut paper inserts, advent calendar, 3x8 transparencies and a stamp. Not getting all of that (ok let’s me real, I probably am) 😂😂😂
