You can use a laminator for some foiling until you decide, just not the foil plates. Or use a “cold” foiling method with Deco Foil and Transfer Gel Duo. I think you can also use a glue pen to outline parts of die cuts, then use the Deco Foil to create foiled effects 👍 I never tried the glue pen. I will have to try that! I do have a laminator, but the printer I had tried didn't foil well with it. I am hoping if I try another one it will work better.

More Hallmark news for those of us who love a cheesy romance to craft along to. The channel has already announced the sequel to their very successful 2022 Lacey Chabert movie, Haul Out the Holly. Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up will premiere during this year's C2C and feature most of the original cast including Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown.
In the sequel, Emily (Chabert) and Jared (Brown) are looking forward to celebrating the holidays together again, this time as a couple. Emily has now embraced Evergreen Lane’s festive spirit and is ready to work with Jared, Ned (Tobolowsky), Mary Louise (Travolta), and Pamela (Peterman) to make this year’s Christmas celebrations the best yet (though being the HOA president’s girlfriend doesn’t stop decorating citations). A house on the block goes up for sale, causing a stir with residents. The welcoming committee prepares for the soon-to-be neighbors, who end up being holiday royalty — meaning the competition is about to heat up.

Oh love that. I love the pinkfresh uses similar colors so it so easy to pull from past years to use up older supplies.

According to this there were already 18 finished before the strike. That's a lot less than 43 or whatever from last year but still a decent number to supplement the old rotation. I guess we'll see, depending on when the strike finally ends.

So, there's technically more hours of C2C to watch than 18 average-length Hallmark movies so far. Fingers crossed more are confirmed.

If they're able to get about half of the usual number out I hope it means we'll get replay of some older classics instead of the same 10 over and over again.
But also, WHAT?? A CHRISTMAS SERIES?!?!?! And with Ezra from PLL! His movie last year was one of the better ones and my millennial heart is here for this. Of the last 2 series Hallmark has come out with one was great (The Way Home) and the other was.. absolutely not (Ride) so I'm hoping this goes the way of the former.

I found the kit of Christmas Pasts of little value at first, but it's similar to the new Paislee Press kit.
I think the problem comes from the wooden stamp which must be "expensive" (and that I find almost useless).
If you factor it the physical kit, the digital kit, the bonus digitals and the class, I found the price ok. Not great, but ok.

I finally started working on my DD 2022 this weekend!
I had trouble getting started on this project because all my photos are dark and blurry and I wasn't excited to scrap any of them. For some reason, I forgot to get good portrait photos of me and my husband. Not one photo together, or of our family together. No good photos of the dogs. I spent 3 days with my mom and don't have one clear shot of her. Blah.
But, I got the new version of Photoshop Elements this summer and it's really helping bring the photos I do have to life. The "Perfect Landscape" guided editing is amazing - all the haze is easily removed from my outdoor photos. It's been a learning curve, but I'm having a lot of fun playing!

Also try brightening them and then desaturating to black and white! That’s what I do for my bad quality photos 😅 Or I print them out to look like Poloroids — which already have diminished photo quality.

Hey DD experts, I am wondering what the most used configurations pocket protectors for 6x8 are? I want to try hybrid since I have so many digital kits already. I can't decided what page protectors to order from scrapbook.com. The panoramic ones look cool for photo heavy days but do I really need 10 of them.

You're an inspiration. I need to get cracking on my DD 2022. I always end up with the photos I need and the first 3-4 pages done and then I get distracted by shinypretty something and I forget to finish.

I did buy a pack of the panoramic last year but think I only used 2 in my album. The hardest for me to use are the 2x2.

I know Simple Stories has them. I would go that route. Also most albums come with some page protectors. I have a ton of options but I have been using them less and less as I really like to do interactive elements, full-page photos, and just build on pattern paper. I go through my stash and pull out 1 of each kind that I have and try to use them all up before I use a duplicate style (I don't know why, that's just how I am). I don't think you'll need many. I will have to check out this panoramic style. In my head it's very cool but I've never heard of it before. - EDIT -- checked them out. I don't think I would use those. If I want to do something like that I add a 3X8 card backed with a photo and flip it over (using washi tape) or I'll cut up half of a page protector that has 2 3X4s on it and adhere it with washi. If you don't like the look of washi, then these might be for you. But I do think it would take me 5 years to use them. I would only use them in December Daily though. 2X2s are my favorite but can get repetitive so I will never use more than 2 of them in one project. I also like mixing in other sizes like the various 3X8s and the traveller's notebook sizes from Citrus Twist.

A couple different styles/layouts. I used one in DD last year and have used a couple in Disney albums. I’m happy with them mostly. But some of the openings are weird. Like, where you’d expect it to top-load the photo it actually side-loads. I’d have to check again, but I think it’s the top photo/s of the main 6x8 do not have top openings. This wasn’t a problem with my DD page, but I remember having a struggle with a Disney page.

The first coupe were very heavy in the 2 4x6 and 4 3x4 configurations. The last two years I used maybe 2 page protectors total. I prefer page protector sized enlargements and building on paper. I never use the 6x8 size, and the 2x2 maybe twice.

I never use the 6x8 size, I use these in two different ways: 1. I store stuff in them that I really want to use in the album this year, like a die cut or a sticker or something else that I don't want to use in my stash. I keep them in the album so I'm constantly reminded of them. Sometimes I sketch out the idea I want to use them for and store it in there as well. Then they go back to the stash when I'm done. 2. Sometimes I have bigger things that I just want to put in the album but not necessarily highlight. I just use them as a pocket. Like one year I made a product play TN of sorts from the files they gave us. I printed it out on 8.5X11 paper, folded it in half, and stapled it like a booklet. Then I stuck it in the pocket at the end of the album as a record. I kept all my sketches and ideas for that year in it so it's like a crafty account of the album. I need to make one again as I'm starting to get ideas and I'm putting them on all sorts of random bits of paper that are just going to get lost. But I would much rather have various sizes in my album so if I have a random true 6X8 piece of paper (like from Paper Person), I wouldn't put it in the sleeve, I just punch holes in it and stick it in there like that. That said, I wouldn't buy them separately. But did anyone see the new configuration at SB.com? It's a 3X8 column with two 3X4s on the right. Love it. This thread made me realize I'm running low on some styles so I'm going to place an order sometime before December so I'll have them. All of my unique October Afternoon styles have been used up.

When I use pp for 6x8, I tend to use them all except the 2x2 one...I hate that one. I've actually taken all of them and used them for my ink swatches. My favorite tonuse is the 4x6 with (2) 3x4 slots on the top.
This year the plan is 1 photo per day and I'm planning on no page protectors at all. Just pockets and maybe some interactive elements.

Ah, you reminded me that I do actually use the 6x8. As I go through December I start to build my album using the 6x8. Ideas, sketches, product to use, memorabilia, etc. I have a very beat up set of 25-30 6x8s for this purpose. They are never a part of my completed album, and I’ve never purchased this size. I just reside from all the albums I’ve used over the years. If I need a pocket or storage in the album for something I make my own vs using the page protector. I really just don’t like them, lol.

I bought some of the panoramic ones and they are handy for the photo heavy days, when I have more to say and a bunch of photos, or when I have pretty filler cards I really want to use but also have a bunch of photos. They are kind of fun to use as a shaker pockets on top of photos or journaling. I used more of them than I thought I would. I do 6x8 albums for DD and OLW projects, so I don't mind having a variety. If you only do one project a year, maybe sticking to the traditional ones would be better use of your $$$. I use full 6x8 the most, then the one with 1 6x4 and 2 3x4s next. I find I almost never reach for the 2 6x4 or the 2x2 ones. Occasionally I do the one with 4 3x4s.

burnbright Panoramic PPs are awesome for photo or paper ephemera-heavy days when I don't want to add even more weight to the page by creating a cardstock fold-out. I received a few Christmas cards from Peas one year (unexpectedly) and cut them up to fit the panoramic PP along with journaling about this happy surprise. I also used one as an illustrated recipe holder and plan on using another this way for DD 2023: recipe + photos of baking/cooking in progress + final result. A pack lasts you years though. 😂

I'm wondering how much prep you all do in advance for your December Daily projects? Any tips about how to balance being well organized and prepped, but still flexible to accommodate the various photos you might have for any given day?
I have a friend who views anything outside of the month of December as "cheating" but with all the discussion of prep day classes, etc. I'm sure I'm not the only person contemplating doing some pre-work. I know that my December is crazy, so I think I will be most successful if I can go into it with a solid plan and some pre-work to make it as easy as possible.

I'm probably the wrong person for this question, but I will say that the year I did do foundation pages was the only year I actually finished my album right away (IIRC it was early January). All other years, I've finished the following year (or not finished at all, but that's another story!). My experience was that I was able to move some prepped things around to accommodate the photos and stories I wanted to scrap that day, AND, I ignored the "rule" that if it happened on December 8th then I had to scrap it on December 8th. As Ali says in her most recent years, it's the 8th STORY, not the 8th DAY of December/ the Holiday Season / Whatever you want your book to be.
