I keep seeing people mention that their albums are on shelves…Is that what everyone does? Do you clear out a bookshelf and bring them out in December? Or are they permanently on a shelf in a family room? Just curious how that works for everyone, especially if you have a few years’ worth. I"m such a slacker. I've been married 25 years and have one Christmas album that's ongoing. I do that instead of December Daily. My brain was very frustrated with having 2 incomplete albums - the PL was missing most of the December stories and, to a lesser extent, the DD was missing all the everyday life stuff. I ended up duplicating a lot or being confused when I went back to look at what happened in Dec that year. I never found a great balance when I was doing both. Maybe it I had left a note/summary page in the PL reminding myself to look in DD for these stories? but that still felt incomplete to me. My PL/family album is more of a glorified photo album with some scrappy embellishments thrown in with journal cards. A brief overview. The Christmas albums are for having fun with all the things! Making actual pages. I’d love the link please 😊 You've got PeaMail! 📮 You have me curious, pea mail please.
Also, I gave up at page 25 This thread is moving too fast for me.

Did anyone watch the lessons for the Stories of Christmas Past class last year? I’m intrigued every time Ali flips through her album, but I don’t know if I have much use for the products since I’m not planning on doing a Christmas past album. I’m wondering if the class content could be applicable to other retrospective projects. Personal opinion. Don’t bother. Do the stories of travel and see how she did her Dave Matthew’s band stuff. Way better class (more contributors/content.) Same concept. I think cheaper. And without a stupid junk kit that was stupid expensive.

Do the holes on the six ring page protectors line up with the standard two ring protectors? Just wondering if I bought a refill and didn’t use all of them if it’d be easy to stick them in my usual albums. Yes, they do. If you have standard/universal 6x8 PPs at home, you can also just punch extra holes to turn them into AE 6-hole PPs. By standard/universal, I mean they align with 6x8 from brands like Becky Higgins, Simple Stories, Echo Park/Carta Bella, SB.com, etc. Meaning they align with 2 out of the 3 holes in a standard 3-hole 12x12 or 9x13 album, too. 😉

ould one do with it? Like if someone made you one cause you don't have an embossing machine (or whatever they're called). First of all, you need to find yourself a second-hand Big Shot. Girl, seriously. Between cutting delicate bows and embossing your heart out, you'd have so much fun with one. Don't tell me you're out of space: I live in a small (very small by US standards) apartment with another person and have a Big Shot. Secondly, I'm sorry but my brain immediately thought of chain lingerie and nipple clamps when I clicked on that embossing folder link. However, trying to overlook the obvious theme, I'd definitely use this to emboss at the top of a 4x8 insert journaling the prettiest Christmas lights in the city for DD. This would make a beautiful backdrop to a die-cut title. Oooh, on watercolour cardstock and then you add glitter paint drops on top.

First of all, you need to find yourself a second-hand Big Shot. I know I know! For that bow die alone I need one of those. I just think this image is so pretty but I can't visualize how you could use it. So thank you for the vivid imagery!

I think you can also use a glue pen to outline parts of die cuts, then use the Deco Foil to create foiled effects 👍 I just had to try this with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and it works! I definitely need to play around with it to nail down how much glue to use/how long it needs to dry. But a bit of practice and this'll be a nice little accent!
I am amongst those who never placed an order with AE. I've got my Elle's Studio order coming so there are goodies on the way already. I might check out the digitals later.

First time for everything. Wow. Stunning. The designer knocked it out of the park. Like I'm a little teary. I've never heard of her before, Erin McManness

I was hoping for a Geralyn style PF collection. So this one is fine, but not my style. I would prob get the scalloped paper as a complement to the Ali E stuff but that's it. I hope Geralyn has a digital collection on her site.

That Pinkfresh kit is very pretty (even though it's not my style of Cmas kit). I like some of the papers, b-sides mostly but also that diagonal stripe.

My Sugarplum Wishes stuff from ACOT came in today and I'm in love! Did I spend $9 on a pack of charms when I really only wanted one of them? ..yes. Do I care? NO. So happy the 4x4 striped album matches well enough thanks to Paige essentially using the same color scheme in everything lmao
I am disappointed in the puffy stickers though. They're so much smaller than I'm used to and they're practically the thickness of 2 pieces of cardstock together.. nothing puffy about them, especially next to puffies from KP and even Studio Calico which I've already thought were pretty flat. I'd say they're even thinner than PF chipboard stickers if you have those.
The acetate sheet was a last minute addition and I'm so glad I grabbed it, the red foil is beautiful! I didn't realize not all the 12x12s were in the 6x8 pad though.. I didn't grab one of every 12x12 but I noticed the stocking/patchwork paper isn't in the pad so I'll have to go see what else isn't included.

I don't love the Pinkfresh line. I was a little nervous they'd release a line I loved this year, but so far I'm happy I ordered AE.

I think I may be using all stash this year. No collection sticks out on my head as a must buy this year, which is both good and sad, really. The Pinkfresh line is pretty, but same thing, I can live without it.

Holiday Dreams has drawn me in, completely. It isn't anything revolutionary but it gives me ALL the December feels and that is a great starting point. And the colour scheme fits the Paper Person DD goodies dawnnikol kindly sent me this summer. ♥️ I feel like it's my lucky year! 🍀 Did anyone else notice the sentiment with the light reference in gold foil on blue background? Looks like PF did this to also cater to Hanukkah through this line. 🕯️I love such little details. The chipboard frames are beautiful and have classic Christmas references that are not often seen in scrapbooking. Very exciting! I'm hoping for a swift release on this side of the pond so I can prep. I am itching to make some interactive pieces! My gamble to wait has paid off. 🙌

It's lovely, I love that font, which is also on the green "Joy" and red "Cup of Cheer". Very useable. I also love the frames in this collection. The sentiment "goodwill" feels right this year. I noticed a few more AE items have sold out or are close - final few of Liz's kit and the green floral album, and the plastic tags sold out. I actually ordered a physical stamp, something I haven't done in a long time.

Ok peeps... looks like this is the first non AE DD year for me.... I've resisted all temptation so far (it helped the NZD is ridiculous against the US$ right now and shipping alone would be around the $60 mark!!)
So, I'm trawling through the back pages y'all have put into this thread, looking for the occasional new treat to put amongst all december items I already have (that work in a summertime december).
I can't believe how freeing it is not to be worrying about finding room in my stash, whether I'll get what I want, and jubreaking the AE addiction!

Do you have a silhouette? I watched some tutorials online and figured out how to turn any old font into a cut file. Last year I made a title just by cutting out individual letters (then I stuck them down). Then you can make any number you want. But otherwise I am obsessed with numbers. I love to use rubber stamps to make numbers. I'll cut out tag shapes and stamp numbers on them or use those metal-rimmed tags. I've also just been adding adhesive to my thickers so they stay down. So far so good. Elles Studio has some good ones in stock right now. She has a white set that you can color or stamp on. Can you share this code? The one I had expired. The one I used was Welcomeback. It was 20% off. If that doesn’t work for some reason, I found it by googling Ali Edwards coupon code, so you might find one eventually that worked for you. The welcomeback code works... I got the product play and prep day classes all for $20 ... so effectively, the prep day for free.

With the Deco Foil Duo or a glue pen that dries tacky, you don’t need to heat set the Deco foil, just use pressure (your hands, a brayer, or a die cutting machine (with a sandwich for light embossing). With the Deco Duo gel you can use it with or without heat. I have not heat set a glue pen/foil with a laminator, but you could try it…
