I loved today's product play lesson.
I didn't buy the canvas circles because I knew I could make those. I'm pretty sure I have some of that printable fabric in my house somewhere.
I'm so glad she included the tree cut file. That will make my life so much simpler.
I have some ideas to add to it. That will be a fun one to play with.

Now that we're over the Halloween hump (sorry to American* Thanksgiving who definitely gets the short end of the stick) it's the beginning of the end! I hope those who are doing Product Play get use out of it and show us your creations!! The past few nights I've been playing with things for holiday cards and the exchange our Blemon puts together and lemme tell you, I've brought out the Stickles I don't think I've even looked at in 15 years and these bad boys are neither dried out nor clogged it's a miracle

When they were popular, Walmart sold a Studio G version. Those do not last. I threw out a bottle this week.

I enjoyed her Product Play lesson, too.I could figure it out on my own but I'm not good with this and It'd take me forever to get it right so I appreciate that she gives cut files, too.

mom SB usually has great cups and this year is no exception. I made the swap to DB though... the colors leave a lot to be desired though. :X

dawnnikol, is DB short for Dutch Brewhouse? I saw one in Phoenix when I was there visiting my mom in the spring, and I was tempted but the line was soooooo long. We don't have them out here where I live, so I should have been more patient. mom , I saw the same ad and thought the same thing! Magenta seems to be a hot color, and Liz Tamanaha was a couple of years ahead of her time. My kit arrives today. I'm going to have to take a picture of a Starbucks cup so I can justify my supplies!

I haven't done a starbucks spread in a few years. I do like them though. We also try to hit up Dunkin once a season because they have fun donuts. Tim Horton's also has some cool stuff. I got a great ornament there one year. It's a snowglobe.
OMG I can't wait to be in the new (currently very old) house so I can have space for all my decorations.

I wasn't going to get the Product Play class because I tend to keep my projects fairly simple and I don't have all that much going on in December, but the sneaks on Instagram are getting to me. Can you (or anyone) tell me where there are some sneak peeks? I am so conflicted on signing up for this. The hybrid class was a bit of a bummer for me and I really don't want to waste money on another class I won't use.

We don't have them out here where I live, so I should have been more patient. It's short for "Dutch Bros", but Brewhouse is awesome. They just came to KC area around this time last year and now we have 6+ in a year. What really hooked me was the sticker drops. The first Wednesday of every month is a new sticker with purchase. I'm a sucker for it. The app also gets the sticker and other fun stickers only in the app. I figure if I'm going to get my Chai, I may as well get rewarded with points and stickers. Not to mention, the people? I have yet to meet one who was not extremely nice. Their lines do tend to get long, but they are patient and kind. I appreciate that. They're mostly on the West coast, but they've been creeping across the country. Last December, they had a new sticker every week, so I'm excited to document that even if the cups aren't my jam.

Can you (or anyone) tell me where there are some sneak peeks? PM me your cell and I'll text you some screenshots. I really liked today's lesson. So simple. I want to run home and make it. I loved the idea of making ornaments. What a great way to use up supplies and give handmade gifts to friends and family. I would use double-sided papers, not Ali's (although I love she keeps the reverse blank so you don't have to choose). It is my treat to myself. Every day at lunch I'm going to watch a lesson. Some days I'll watch two (unless I watch on the weekend).

Oh, and someone mentioned in the chat of the lesson that it would be a great idea to use the starbucks cups for the wreath idea. And I think it would be fun to punch out the starbucks logo from the cup for the center.

blemon Today’s PP lesson really would work using the SB holiday cups. I saw it mentioned in the comments and thought it was a great idea. I always enjoy PP and look forward to a new video/idea each day.

Ugh, when they first opened here the drive thru lines (double lines, never seen here before!) were backing cars up into the highway they were on every day. They had people in high viz vests trying to manage the lines too. It was mid-pandemic so I don't know if the lobby was even open, but it was mayhem. I had/have no idea what the draw was besides novelty. Starbucks has gotten me well and truly hooked with their emails and gamification and delicious creamy sugar -- I mean coffee. I'm glad they don't have stickers as well!!

I like the Starbucks cups and now that they FINALLY brought back Gingerbread Latte I may document. I did just bring my kiddo through the drive through and her drink total was SEVEN dollars. I’m sorry, that is asinine for mediocre coffee. My local favorite coffee shops either don’t do pretty cups or have ones that are not great.

For those of you who got Ali’s white star album, did you have issues with dried glue streaks on the front cover? Not super noticable until you take the plastic off. I did message customer service, and they quickly sent out a new album (I will give them kudos for that), but the new one has the same issue along with a torn corner. I’m pretty disappointed in the quality of the albums this year.

The hybrid class was a bit of a bummer for me and I really don't want to waste money on another class I won't use. Are you following the December Daily group on Instagram? I've also been following the designers listed in the class. I kind of feel like I could adapt what I see on Instagram without signing up for the class, though. I also realized yesterday that I purchased the 2021 Product Play class and never watched any of the videos! I'm going to watch one a day this month so I don't feel deprived. I would encourage you and anyone else who is unhappy with the hybrid class to contact customer service. They probably won't do anything, but it at least provides a way of giving them some feedback. AE's social media accounts seem to only accept positive comments. I am sure the person running those accounts thinks she's helping Ali...but I think the opposite is true. I kind of feel like digital/physical is a false dichotomy. I'm able to translate a good physical project into digital and vice-versa. A lot of us purchase digital products mainly to save money, and not so much because we prefer digital over physical. Maybe a separate hybrid class is unnecessary??

But it's true they will never know what people want or like if no one lets them know!

Are you referring to the plan, prep & play class? I’m not doing DD, but am loosely following along this thread to live vicariously through y’all and for ideas for scraping Christmas layouts. But I’m also looking for a way to store other projects. For example, I am working on 10-12 pages for one vacation event. I’ll be using a large collection kit from 49 & Market along with some items I’ve gathered from my stash and various dies, etc. I want a way to keep it organized & easy to access on my desk. I like the way ScrapbookingQuebec does her monthly kits, but am looking for other ideas and to refine it. Do you think the video you’re watching would be a good fit for this? My papers are up to 12 x 12, but otherwise I have to store the same types of goodies & photos as for DD. No, not the class. She had a series on Ali's blog post. I will link the first post, but there are 3-4 posts all thru out the month. aliedwards.com/2023/09/december-daily-2023-plans-play-with-lindaI finally finished watching her videos and reading her blog posts, and it was helpful. Especially since I was just planning on keeping my ephemera in one section of a bin but as she was putting things away I realized it would need to be divided more for me or I’d go crazy looking through them. 49 & Market’s embellishment packs are huge!

My favorite. I didn't realize it was gone. There aren't too many of the drinks that you can make non-dairy because of the syrup. I'm really really sensitive to the condensed milk that is in the PSL. I need to take a lactaid just for that (even with non-dairy milk). Maybe a separate hybrid class is unnecessary?? That's what I think. It was more like a photoshop/canva tutorial and they already have classes for that. Only Jenny did something unique with the digitals, IMO. I have two more videos to watch but I've just been so bummed about it that I haven't yet. Maybe this weekend. I'm curious about the TN.

Completely random but the last five books I’ve read are all set in December so will be a story in this years dd - the new Tessa Bailey (wreck the halls), 3 Matthew Reilly books (think Indiana Jones style adventure with ancient sites etc which I love), and homecoming by Kate Morton which is an awesome slow burn mystery story (I LOVE this author!)…. The last two are Aussie authors, and although what happens in the books is not really “christmassy” I really enjoyed reading them!

I'm also a little turned off by Ali's content so far. I'm glad she's having fun, but it's just not my thing.

I saw a subway train covered in a huge Starbucks holiday advertisement. If I see it again I'll take a picture. I didn't realize the cups came out today so it makes sense.
I liked Ali's lesson yesterday and I LOOOOOVED today. I'm 100% using the idea I just don't know if the papers will be the ones I use.

I’m sorry, that is asinine for mediocre coffee. My local favorite coffee shops either don’t do pretty cups or have ones that are not great. I thought they only had the gingerbread as a chai latte this year. I was going to try it but would prefer a coffee rather than a chai. The prices are crazy, especially if you want more than 12oz and need/want a non dairy milk. I just checked and I guess the gingerbread coffee is an olive oil infused one. stories.starbucks.com/press/2023/starbucks-holiday-drinks-food-and-red-cups-are-back-on-nov-2/

Reading "gingerbread chai latte" and wondering if that's on the UK Starbucks menu...hmm! Might have to go and look. Yesterday I was in a small independent coffee shop and spotted "Dirty Chai" on their board - chai latte with a double shot espresso! Surprisingly delicious (not to mention half the price of an equivalent Starbucks drink)

There are 2 windows to order from - one on the drive thru side and the other is a walk-up window. At the walk-up window side, they have 2 picnic tables to sit at, that's it. Wait and see if you go on a rainy day with a little bit of a line... they are taking orders on their tablets inside waterproof pods.
