Can someone point me to the best (and easiest) tutorial to use the cameo to foil? II think someone said Ali did it somewhere? And what is the best supplies to use (foil?). This is the video that I used to learn how to foil with my Cameo 4, she was very clear: youtu.be/ilZMPv47k70?si=sz5lzZJgwUSutM_j

he’s 73 and definitely felt like he was on the younger side. Exactly! When we were in the Netherlands this Summer, we did a canal tour and on the boat with us was a group of Germans on an excursion from their river cruise. My husband and I are 49/51 and we were BY FAR the youngest people on that boat except for our daughter. They were having a blast. We've been on 2 Viking river cruises during warm weather we were ages ranging from 14 to 75, about 20 of us. I'd love to hear more about these. It seems like there are several companies who do the christmas market tours. I plan to read reviews. It might be fun to do something like that with my mom and my daughter. My husband would hate it.

"Best.Christmas.Ever" on Netflix was terrible. Do not recommend. Spoilers below. Heather Graham's character was terrible. I cringed more than anything else. She's jealous of this "friend from college", but seems to have no idea, beyond they dated) information about her husband's prior relationship with said 'friend'. The jealousy just added more cringe. Her husband flounders between not really understanding his wife and gaslighting her. Her husband was never on her side during this stay and somehow it's okay he's been lying to her for years and having his family and friends lie to her...
Brandy's singing was the best part, because she has the voice of an angel. I would never watch this movie again though.

It might be fun to do something like that with my mom and my daughter. My husband would hate it. If you want more info, just let me know, but here are a few details: Viking Cruises was great, their service is first class. The cruise went down the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland, over the course of a week. Cruising on a river is so different from cruising on the ocean. It was calmer, for one thing. You could usually see the land, sometimes quite close to the boat, which made it interesting - seeing towns and cities and beaches, etc, as we cruised past. The stops we made were awesome - Kinderdijk (a ton of windmills just outside Amsterdam), Cologne, Strasbourg, to name a few. We mainly walked around on our own, but you could book tours. We swam in the Rhine at one stop, the kids loved it. Viking had us at 3 tables for dinner, which worked out well. The food was excellent. There was a library/games room on board so we played a lot of trivial pursuit and other games with the family at night. During the day we sat on the upper deck where there was a huge chessboard that we all played with, plus just watching the towns pass by - it would be so gorgeous with Christmas lights, I can't even imagine. . So, there was plenty to do on the boat, plus there were many stops, too. At one of the stops I bought some hand-blown glass Christmas ornaments, they are absolutely gorgeous - so if that's a taste of what a Christmas market is like, I'm all in. This is definitely going on my wish list. Edited to add: I also bought a hand-carved wooden nutcracker and a little Santa (very rustic Santa, with a bag of sticks on his back) in a small town in Germany. I'd go back just to visit that shop again.

Who's got two thumbs and went to a Christmas market for small business Saturday put together by a local Coven where she spent like $200 on artwork and the only photos she took (poorly and in an incredibly dimly lit building) were of a life size coffin bookcase and a mounted dissected frog that she texted to her mom asking if she should buy? this girl Also my mom only replied "STOP" when I asked her opinion on the frog 😭🤣 I saw a really neat Krampus though! Didn't stop for photos because the photo set up was in a terrible area and it was wall to wall people so that's a bummer. I was in "I'm here for art" mode and not "I should stop and take some cute photos for December Daily" mode the entire time lmao

You don't need to have cute photos every time. The memory is totally her reaction! If you want more info, just let me know, but here are a few details: This sounds amazing. Perhaps I am 80 in a 50 year old's body. ha ha. I will definitely look into this in a few years. Movie review of the day: Watched Hallmark's Christmas by Design and it was lovely. I definitely recommend. It's not something you're going to watch more than once (unless you watch it again in a couple of years and only remember halfway through that you've already seen it). But it is just what you want in a christmas movie. I started Flipping for Christmas and it's a doozy. I'll get through it but I don't know.

I started watching the Holiday Hotline movie halfway through and need to write to whoever writes dialogue for Americans speaking to British characters. If someone asks "shall we -? the answer is "yes, lets" or "that sounds wonderful" or "I'd love that!" It's never "we shall" unless you want the British person to think you're making fun of them. Sure is also a perfectly normal response. I got my tree up and my old Christmas albums out yesterday Getting Christmas cards finished and mailed this week.

Ok, finished Flipping for Christmas and I don't know. I don't recommend it. Watch it if there is nothing else. It wasn't horrible but there is just something off about the two leads.

I’m getting into December Daily mode.
I purchased a 9x12 velvet album and page protectors from sb.com.
Next to choose a paper line — i think A MIX & A MINGLE from last year. I have the digitals as well.
My Selphy is ready with lots of refills for backup.
As we are empty nesters with limited outings I need to make actual plans for each week.

I can't believe December is FRIDAY!
The only Precember thing we've done so far is make our lists for Santa. I feel so behind already and the month hasn't even started yet! LOL

OMG. Product Play just keeps getting worse and worse.
Put stuff in an envelope? Really? I hadn't thought of that.
Just like I never would have considered putting a 4x6 card in a 4x6 pocket of a page protector.
This forum needs a face palm emoji.
You know I do NOT like to talk smack but holy hell with some of these lessons.
My apologies to anyone who bought this class after I recommended it after the first couple of days.
I would love to know if anyone at the company actually looked over some of these.

I'm sorry it's been a bummer blemon + others! It feels like this has happened the last few years where there's a few really great ideas worth scraplifting and then the rest are very It sucks when it feels like the price isn't "worth" the couple good ideas.

Some of these ideas are not worth anything at all...I am so disappointed. It's like no one 'vetted' the ideas before and then the contributors ran out of time so they just said 'fuck it' and submitted anything.

I am adding to my thoughts about the DD class:
Part of what makes it a bust is that every lesson has been shared --- for free --- by AE and the DD instagram. And let's face it, almost all of them didnt need instructions to know how to recreate it. So literally everyone gets the class for free if they don't need someone to hold their hand and walk them thru putting cards into a pocket. And since Ali didn't give the main kit free or really, any digitals, you can't even say you got that when you paid full price for the class.

This is my first time doing the Product Play class. There were a handful of lessons I enjoyed and will recreate, and quite a few that I was just confused by - why are they in there? Like people said, very basic and obvious things. I'm still glad I took it, though, because like I said, I haven't before so it was still fun to have something to look forward to every day in November in anticipation of December.
Was I imagining it or was one of the recent videos not edited, and the instructor did the intro and horked (what's the word, there was a lot of mucus?) and then started all over again, but forgot to edit out the first part up to the loogie? That tells me there is no oversight for these videos.

I think the old Product Play courses had less in quantity, but more robust ideas and supporting files and instructions ( mom this is what I think of with your comments. Those older classes with themes like circles and trees had so much instruction and support files to go with them). The concept of a daily idea for November is a great one, but the execution is very inconsistent in terms of innovation, instruction, video content, etc. I think if there was more guidance on what is required/expected, we would get more consistent results. That said, I have gotten some really great ideas and some days, like today, have multiple ideas and detailed instructions (like the matchbook idea). I am also going back to Pam's brilliant ideas from September and the level of detail she has, to me, is what I would want ideally for product play. I am kind of ready for a new format next year, but I have totally gotten great ideas from prod play, prep day, Ali's foundation pages and this year from Pam's paper play ideas, so, really, I am getting a TON of ideas. ETA: Was just reading blemon comments above and I agree with your sentiments for sure that overall, there are way more meh days than good ones this year.

I think they'd rather have Ali come to their house and do it for them exactly how she did her own.

If you haven't seen this yet: www.hallmarkchannel.com/christmas/movie-guide-countdown-to-christmas-2023I got one in my HGTV magazine and I've been putting a puffy star or heart next to the ones I've watched. The bigger the heart/star, the more I liked it. I don't know what I'm going to do with the ones I really didn't like. I also made a watchlist page that I'll include in the spread with this list. I'm typing in the movies we've watched that aren't Hallmark. It is the size of a VHS tape image file that I got from FYC a few years ago. I think I'll stitch the two together and make a pocket for the Hallmark one. ..judging by some of the people asking questions in the DD Facebook group.. And um have you seen the raves on the Dec Daily group? OMG. They are just gushing over the class. I'm like, did you really need a tutorial on how to put something in a pocket or an envelope? And yes, I agree. I think product play should be closer to what Pam and Jill did for the blog. Maybe they did a little more than was needed but at least there was some creativity. I loved what Linda did. Was last year the 3 ways one? Like a beginner, a moderate, up to an idea that would take either a lot of time or more skill to do? That was 3 ideas per day. So even if you didn't like them all, there was something. A couple of the videos had extra ideas but I will not watch a video of someone putting something in an envelope so even if there are extra ideas in there, it's not worth my time to try to find them.

I will never understand the fan girling over Ali. It's kind of gross. And I think many are wanting to be a DD member and they believe kissing up will earn them points.
I try to follow regular crafters who do DD because rhey have unique ideas. Too many more well known creators (LOL keeping this because Samsung changed what I typed to this and its funny will know crackers) do exactly what Ali does. Like same layout, same order, etc.
It's supposed to be creative. Like do your own thing.

The raves are always eyeroll inducing lol. Like I know I'm a judgy person and it's mean spirited and I accept that flaw. But sometimes I wonder how they got this far in life because it really is a lot of "I didn't know you could cut a single 6x8 into two 4x6's AND they'd fit into the pockets!" I will never understand the fan girling over Ali. It's kind of gross. And I think many are wanting to be a DD member and they believe kissing up will earn them points. That's exactly what it is. The more attention they bring on themselves for praising basic ideas, the more attention they bring by answering every single question in the FB group *cough* *cough* we know the ones.. the more they think Ali will remember them and call'em out by name.

BUT...even though I think my pages are gorgeous, not having to think about the design leaves my creative side wanting more. So I decided to use my Sugarplum Wishes album for 2018 (the year before I started DD), and I am creating my 2022 album like I always do...some original designs and some using ideas influenced by other creators.

I was thinking there were more digitals but they came from the instructors that did projects where you needed their downloads to complete their projects. Last year, when they had a big sale on their DD classes and digitals, I purchased several of the Prep Day classes but only one Product Play. There were so many digitals included with each Prep Day, one for every hour. I didn't open up the one Product Play class I bought until this year, but I really don't understand the price difference. The $5 class is a much better value. The free content on the blog, especially this year, has been incredible. I think 30 lessons from 30 creators in the month of November was overly ambitious. Perhaps they needed to combine digital and hybrid, or else have some well-vetted presenters do more than one lesson. I also think Lisa Varshine, or whoever is in charge of the Facebook account, needs to at least share the negative comments with Ali and/or the larger team. Contacting customer service may be the only way for us to provide any kind of authentic feedback.

I get that they are trying to be helpful for her to not see the negative but at some point you have to realize they are hurting AEs business by just deleting the things they dont want to see.
