Ugh. I just finished Where are you Christmas. The whole time I was thinking how bad these movies are then I'm going through tissues at the end. Why? What magic spell are they using? The first scene was such a bad CGI or green screen it was ridiculous. Like they couldn't find a different location or fake something. It couldn't have been more than 1/2 day of shooting. I'm looking most forward to Never Been Chris'd. I have watched Never Been Chris'd. Hope you enjoy it! I’ll be interested to hear your review. They’re putting a bit more real life conflict/drama into their movies these days while still also retaining some premises that have me scratching my head. I haven’t caught Where Are You Christmas yet. Somehow even with 40 new movies every year I’ve already seen Danica McKellar being governess for the king’s daughter for the millionth time. I guess that one is a fan favorite. I sort of like it, but it annoys me when she fails to correctly pluralize her own family name. One Evans family, many Evanses!

Watched Exmas on Amazon Prime/Freevee and it was great. Leighton Meister (?) from Gossip girl is the lead and she is fantastic. I didn't know she was so funny. She's got really good timing and the cast had very good chemistry.
We are watching Heidelburg Holiday right now because my mom got Covid and cancelled Thanksgiving.
So far, so good. Full report later. My daughter picked this one from the list.

Watched Exmas on Amazon Prime/Freevee and it was great. At the top of our list to watch! Maybe tonight. Should we start a Hallmark thread?

Anyone scrapping today? Dh is in charge of dinner this year, so I'm happily playing! I tried a new technique today - printing on velum and while the ink is still wet, I applied embossing powder and heat setting. I read about it on Traci Reed's IG - one of her designers, Celia Morse, showed how she's embossing digital papers from Traci's new Christmas kit which she printed on vellum (she's @paperbeatsrockdesigns on IG). I got some mixed results, but the thing that turned out best was a text document printed on vellum and heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum powder. I am thrilled with this technique - so easy and pretty! Celia Morse

Heidelburg Holiday is good. Nothing unexpected but it really did seem as if they were filming on location. Maybe not Germany but it didn't look like a green screen earlier.
I don't want to spoil this for anyone but we need to chat about her little art project at the end.
Hard pass on that.
Cute story.
So far I wouldn't watch any of these again.
From last year I would watch the Rockettes one again. And I totally forget what the other one was. I think there was a ghost involved or possibly reincarnation. Also the ones about the firefighter and the vet. Both of those I would watch again. Those are from years ago but I watched them both last year because of this group. I do not know how y'all remember the names of these things.
I do remember the best quote from last year: I will tell him I love him the only way I know how, through gingerbread.
Much laughter on that one.

I do not know how y'all remember the names of these things. I spend time googling people I remember in them or think are in them and run down their IMDB 😂 The ghost one might be Ghost of Christmas Always, I vaguely remember that one being good from last year. I'm so behind on movies and am picking and choosing which ones I turn on and have had some real flops. Not sure if I talked about it already but I really liked Joyeux Noel! The story was dumb (why would they pay for a copy editor to travel?!) but I really liked the female lead. The main dude though.. he's the same in everything he's in and falls so flat. Dude's lucky he's pretty lmao Mystic Christmas was... ok. The animals were my favorite parts lol. Christmas Island I watched just for Andrew Walker and feel like he's been choosing some duds the last few years. I'm pretty sure I watched Flipping for Christmas while doing other things but I have zero recollection so that tells me it wasn't great

I did some stamping on vellum the other day but might need to attempt to print + emboss and see what kind of results I can get.

What a great idea! I'll have to try it out. I bought a lot of heat embossing materials for last year's December Daily, but I only pulled them out a couple of times. Whenever I print on vellum, my page stays wet for a long time, so it seems like it could work. I'll check out Traci's new collection as well.

They usually film a couple of movies on location in some exotic place and it usually is the actual place if they name it. The made up monarchies are never real but the travel ones seem to be done as a deal with the town for tourism promotion. It’s a nice gig for the actors! jenna I was disappointed by Christmas Island because there is a real Christmas Island but it’s tropical, in the Indian Ocean. not near Nova Scotia. I would’ve preferred Andrew Walker under palm trees with this vibe:

Well I caved LOL I really do enjoy playing with all the fun items I find and receive to make unique layouts and pocket pages so I am joining in with DD 2023. Here is a shaker I made for the title page. Pink Fresh papers, gold paper from Michael's, self sealing bag and sequins from the 13 Santa's swap. http://instagram.com/p/C0CZiPDp5Nb

Beautiful page pantsonfire . What size album are you using? 6x8 again. I use 9x12 for yearly albums for ds and dd. I backed this on a 6x8 piece of paper to go into the album. Still deciding which one I want to get. Last year I got a green one and altered the inside

Maybe you did see this but she is a Heidelberg because her grandma was from there. And it's good you missed the end. The rest was quite good. I knew you would! The page looks great. Can someone point me to the best (and easiest) tutorial to use the cameo to foil? II think someone said Ali did it somewhere? I thought Ali said she watched Amy Gretchen's videos. Might have missed it. Review of the Day: OMG. I suffered through Lifetime's Planes, Trains, and Christmas Trees. It was the worst piece of rubbish I have ever seen. Throw in all the tropes! Ew we don't like each other because we're so different but we need to share a car. Boo hoo. There were NO airplanes. There were NO trains. They took a car about an hour and then were somehow stranded from a storm but they were driving around town. WTF, rent a car and drive to where you need to be. You're in Ohio, not the middle of nowhere. She's an event planner whose skills are much needed to help with the christmas festival. Then spoiler alert with more abbreviated cursing if that bothers you: She stays with the dude instead of going home to work the event she has planned and may have gotten an award for?!?!?
Are you effing kidding me? Kiss the dude, get on the damn plane, do your freaking job, then have the relationship. Do not eff up your career for a dude.
And it lasted forever, at least 2 hours, maybe more. They had zero chemistry. There was no conflict. It was just drivel. Anyway, there are two lifetime movies that look good (kiss the chef and the one about the 80s ladies) and I'll watch those but otherwise, I'm sticking with Hallmark.

I'm 7 minutes into Everything Christmas because I liked the font but I have stopped it.
If anyone else watches it and thinks it's watchable, let me know.
These two are annoying.

Visiting the German Christmas Markets has been on my bucket list for quite a while. UGH!! SORRY, I keep trying to edit this post to show that the first paragraph is joblackford 's comment, but apparently I don't know what I'm doing.

I seem to remember Jennie Rey doing this in the DD Hybrid class. If you don't have that class, I would just search YouTube for tutorials.

Amy Gretchen has a Foil Quill Playlist if that's what you're looking for mom and nicolep. Great pages, pantsonfire ! I love your snowy town. We tried to watch Best Christmas Ever on Netflix last night, but we thought it was pretty terrible. DH asked me to change to something else 20 minutes in, he couldn't take it anymore. LOL And he's been good about watching Hallmark movies with me in the past! Still working away on my DD2022. Today's task is embroidering Color Cast Designs acrylic word sentiments onto a few pages. Oh, and if anyone was wondering, Ali's 2023 8x10 transparency pages do have removeable plastic on the back. I haven't figured out if the 6x8 or 3x8s do yet, though. They look like they do, but I haven't been able to grab them. Let me know if you have a tip!

Hey guys - today’s product play lesson lets you know you can put something IN the AE plastic envelopes and put in your album. :/ what the heck. “There’s just so many possibilities with this product” - SHOW US even one besides the most obvious everyone knows - to put something in it and not alter in any way.
Someone remind me next year not to buy this class. The decent lessons have been less than the useless ones for me.

margie there are european river cruises that visit the christmas markets. I don't think I'm old enough for those yet as I'm only 49. The people in their ads are way older. I will definitely go on one of those one day. After turning off Everything Christmas 7 minutes in, I settled into Checkin' It Twice. It was fine. Just fine. Maybe if you're a hockey fan you will think it's great but I didn't think it had anything special.

I do agree that the majority of passengers (I'd guess 95%) are on the other side of "the hill," but I wouldn't let that stop you. It's wonderful to wake up in a new beautiful European town every morning without having to pack and unpack. So much to see and do! I've been looking longingly at their Christmas Market cruises in the brochures...maybe some day. I have a hard time leaving family during the holidays.

My extended family went on a Viking River Cruise a few years ago - we were ages ranging from 14 to 75, about 20 of us. It was fantastic, and I found there was a wide range of adults on it - most passengers were 55+, I'd say, but not necessarily elderly. We did the Rhine cruise. I would definitely recommend them. I've been on all types of cruises and its the only one that I would do again, I'm not a fan of ocean cruises anymore. I would love to do a Christmas Market cruise, it sounds awesome.
