I just finished Joyeaux Noel.
It was better than I expected and I really enjoyed it. A bit of a twist for a Hallmark movie. Lovely.
I recommend this.
And I absolutely love the lead. She plays on Grey's Anatomy and was in another Hallmark movie last year.

Grabbed my freebies! Thanks, lanena and mom ! Lots of unexpected stories these first two days of December. Guess I'm having an unexpected December. Decided to roll with it and not try to plan too much this year. Opening myself up to whatever happens and just going with it.

December 2: ARCHETYPE
On the second day of December, my 2PR DD prompts gave to me... holiday archetypes! Think of all the different December kind of people you have around you and create a portrait gallery of your family and/or friends. Do you have a Wise (wo)Man? A Grinch? Who's your Enthusiast? Your Naughty Elf? Maybe you have a mother-in-law who can't stop baking and makes for the perfect Mrs. Claus? Let your creativity run wild and refer to characters from folklore, stories and movies that best match your merry crew.
Story prompt | Have fun looking at your loved ones through this lens and writing up the perfect archetypical portraits to go with their pictures. Use photo props or filters to make the photo match the archetype.
Creative prompt | Turn your spread into a proper little gallery wall by using those those cute and fancy frames that have been gathering in your stash and your prettiest pattern paper as the wallpaper of your very personalised mural.
Song of the day:

These have to be downloaded? Does anyone have any tips for how to organize or hold the downloads? I have a Mac. It’s old and annoying, but usable. Does using a thumb drive make sense? I loathe dealing with technology, unless it’s as easy as my iPhone. 🙃

I loathe dealing with technology, unless it’s as easy as my iPhone. 🙃 Paige's freebies are in Dropbox. Once you open the free files, you should see a down arrow on the top right for downloading. I have gotten pretty good about immediately placing my files in a scrapbooking folder which syncs to OneDrive. Other folks use Dropbox, iCloud Drive, and other cloud services, but OneDrive comes with my Microsoft 365 subscription, and I find it easy to use. That's also where my photos go when I use my phone camera. I also back my files to an external hard drive a few times a year. It looks like the freebies for Days 1, 2, and 3 are still up, but you have to hunt for them...which is something I dislike about Facebook. Kerri Bradford tends to make her freebies available for only 24 hours, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Paige Evans. Let me know if this makes sense. If not, I'll try to post an example.

Just watched a Biltmore Christmas while working on some DD things and omg I AM IN LOVE. It gave me the happy squeals you hope for at the end when the inevitable happily ever after comes. It's my favorite thus far and gave me alllll the Christmas feels.

Does anyone have any tips for how to organize or hold the downloads? I have a folder on my desktop (backed up to the cloud) called DD 2023. It's got all the random screeshots and downloads I've been grabbing. In that folder I created a new folder called Paige Evans. I've been downloading the zip files to the desktop, opening them up, then dragging the folder into the Paige Evans folder. It takes less than a minute. I also have a mac. At the end of the month I'll throw out whatever I don't need from the DD 2023 folder and drag it to my Downloads folder (and off the cloud). At some point I'll back up that downloads folder to my external drive but mostly if it disappears in a crash, I won't be too bummed. The only stuff in there that I really care about (my crate paper Hey Pumpkin digitals, some AE layered templates, and some IACB files that I use a lot) I should be able to download from where I bought them if something happens. Or I'll just be out like $30.

Can I win the worst December ever award? Husband choked last night and had to have emergency surgery to remove the blockage. Fine now, but we’re all a bit traumatised still. Yes it’s going in my dd 2023, and yes he missed our dds graduation as a result. Here’s a shout out to all the other peas who are having a @:$*%# December so far 🤗

Are there any albums out there with spines larger than Ali's? Finishing up DD 2022 and yet again the album is overstuffed and I have a few more days to add. Frustrating because I tried really hard to be thoughtful and create a slim album this time. sleepingbooty , thank you so much for the inspiring prompts! I'm really enjoying thinking about these this year! lg - so sorry to hear about your December so far - hope things turn around for you.

carolynhasacat I am going to measure the rings in my red AE 6x8 album and my 6x8 SC.com album. While the AE album spine is about .2" wider than a SB.com album, the SB seems to hold more.

I spent exactly zero time prepping for DD this year, I didn’t order a single thing for the project from Ali or anyone else, and I wasn’t sure if I even had an album, but I decided today at 1pm to start a December Daily Album!
I found an older red Ali Edwards album to use (still in the plastic!). It’s a nice red with gold shimmer script across the spine and cover. After I started the project I also found a Vicki B. Winter Wishes album, also new, but I am going to stick with the AE album.
I created a simple title page and a sub-title page on the back. I also finished pages 1-3!
While I don’t have a plan for this album (at all!), I have so many supplies and past kits to work with and I know I can create an album without buying anything new. I have a lot of Vicki B’s Warm Wishes and Paige Evans’ Sugarplum Wishes collection, plus several past Ali Edwards kits to work with.
Is anyone making the last minute decision to create a DD album?

Me! I decided last week to do one. And while this is year 3, I never prep. I have also never bought an AE kit or anyone else's. Last year I did buy a few 2021 AE items that were on clearance.

pantsonfire I’m glad I’m not the only one making last minute decisions around here. 😂 I don’t have an excess of 3x4 cards for pockets. I may end up making a lot of 6x8 pages instead of all pocket pages, but that’s ok!

December 3: LOUNGEForget running around to buy gifts and dressing up for the office Christmas party, today we embrace the more relaxed December life and look at how we lounge about home during this special season. Special PJs and plush-lined slippers to pick up the newspaper or let the dog out in the morning are the stars of today's story! Story prompt | List and photograph all the ways you lounge at home during the cold season. Extra cosy comfy clothes, special everyday December traditions when you're staying in for the whole day like watching comforting Christmas movies or a chill holiday playlist, maybe even special snacks or frozen meals you stock up on for these lazy staying-in days? Creative prompt | Add fabric touches to your page for texture, softness and extra cosiness. Think of velvet ribbon, thread, plush stars, yarn string, fabric bows, embroidery, etc. Song of the day:

I'm trying to play catch-up in this thread but have only made it to November 27 so far. Bear with me as I read up on all the Product Play drama (ha, AE drama for DD is a trope at this point ), your Christmas movie reviews and reassurance that I'm not the only one stepping into December with barely any prep! I am slowly coming out of the autumn madness and have managed to take 2 full days off later this week. I'll be delving into DD then. I'm doing an adapted album with only the major stories but still keeping small notes for the "off" days. I hope my plan turns out ok! The DD stories I'm counting on for the next ten days are: 1. Helping to buy + set up the family Christmas tree; 2. Finally getting to do some Christmas shopping (I've literally only bought 1 thing so far - I feel so incredibly out of sync and behind with everything this year, it's horrible); 3. Putting together + mailing out my mother and stepdad's wedding/elopement announcements (they finally updated their partnership to a real mariage!); 4. Getting my Covid-19 booster; 5. Starting my Hallmark Countdown to Christmas + Miracles of Christmas spread. The only thing I'm almost completely up to date with? Hallmark movies. I kid you not. Courtesy of my SO who's been super supportive and has had food on the stove and a Hallmark movie ready to watch after some long days at work. I'm very lucky. I haven't bought a single scrappy thing since late summer. I haven't even figured out what gifts to get for Christmas or done any decorating but I'm currently 28 new Hallmark movies into the season. My personal favourites and most recommended of the 2023 batch so far are (in no particular order): My Christmas Guide (chill, easy, classic Hallmark love story - subtle and quiet but feel-good - and they employed a visually impaired actor for the lead role) Catch Me If You Claus (very funny, fast-paced, with twists and bends and geared at all generations and super well acted - as long as you're ok with your kids seeing a fake-ish make-out sesh in a car) The Santa Summit (this is your millennial movie - young-ish adults, no kids, single and ready to mingle - and Hallmark has just out-Netflixed and out-Hulu'd their competition with this one. It's different from anything else on the roster, fun, engaging and quirky.) Holiday Road (Hallmark finally triumphes at making an unexpected roadtrip story stick for a Christmas movie. This one has all generations currently alive sharing the screen along with a lot of heart and good pace.) My Norwegian Holiday (the Scandinavian traditions, a different kind of meet-cute and reason to holiday together, a little bit on the nose with the side story but I had a really good time watching this and thought of Ingunn when the runner passed the main character on the forest path - by the way, who has the deets on why her IG account has gone private recently?) A Biltmore Christmas (it was Hallmark's big movie of the year - big budget and push from BJL to have it made - and it shows... This is an instant classic and I'm almost sorry it's on Hallmark instead of a big international streaming platform because so many people will never even hear about it. Romantic, witty, screwbally and everything more. Don't get me started It's elite tier and easily the most recommended movie of not only the year but the Hallmark channel all around.) Also, I know we have parents of children with autism here so I want to give a shout-out to A World Record Christmas for being a beautiful and rewarding watch. Inclusivity and diversity are on the rise and I so appreciated seeing this story play out. lg Geesh, what way to kick off the month! I'm so glad your husband's ok now but I can imagine this has left its mark on your family. Congratulations to your daughter, by the way. I'm sorry her dad couldn't be there for her graduation but I'm sure she's relieved he's going to be fine. What a scare! No peppermints for him this year... (Too soon?)

sleepingbooty I didn’t know Ingunn turned her account private because I’ve followed her for ages but she hasn’t been posting much since she moved. It’s mostly cold plunges, some fixing up their new home, and the girls going to local events. I’m assuming she’s not on the AE team any more, at least during this transition, so no real need to have a public account. ETA congrats to your mom and stepdad! And thanks for the movie reviews. I’m behind but generally agree with your assessments of the good stuff. I was very disappointed, I wasn’t looking at the TV during the fake makeout in the car scene in Catch. I caught the stunned look at the end of the kiss and cursed my distractions. We finally have a DVR so I will try to record the good movies and then try to find time to watch without distractions.

sleepingbooty thanks for the reviews! Some of these aren't on my list so I'm going to have to add them. I didn't watch anything last night as it was just too long of a day and I decided to watch Ali's Day 2 process video instead. At the beginning of the month she seems to be doing a lot of teaching -- here are some other things you can do with this paper, this is why I chose this but anything else can work, here's where I screwed up, oh well. I am currently done with Day 3. I had a couple of stories ready to go that happened before December but were holiday adjacent so I went with those for days 1 and 2. Yesterday my nephew was in Elf Jr. and he was so good as Walter Hobbs. So that will be one of the next stories I'll work on. My daughter also attempted to watch the new hunger games movie with friends but it was sold out (crazy!?!). So they played mini golf and took photos at the courthouse where they have a lot of decorated christmas trees. So fun. They took some selfies so I can't wait to use one for a story. I made a table of contents similar to Ali's with the gold circles. I'm putting a bit of ephemera or a sticker or two on each circle indicative of the day's events. So fun. I only have 2 done and I'm loving it so much. It has been cloudy and gloomy as heck so no photos here yet. I hope to take pics of my pages very soon. I also realized that I really didn't make very many foundation pages. I just made filler pages because that is so much more fun. So that's where I'm at. I like the challenge of deciding if I'm going to make a 1-page layout on the back of the day before or go all out. And then you have to plan your next story too. So that's where the filler pages come in handy. My ephemera page is ready to. Just gotta start sticking stuff in. I'm just using the grid page with gold lines. I actually think it's from the October kit. On the back I made the lines from the cherry tape and gold foil. It's not perfect but I love it. Now I don't have to cut my ephemera perfect either. Hope everyone is feeling festive! I'm not quite there yet but I will be.

I'm happy to hear he's doing okay given the circumstances, hopefully he has a speedy recovery. And although it would make for an interesting DD hopefully no more awfulness happens to you guys - you're at your crappy December limit! Are there any albums out there with spines larger than Ali's? Paige has a 6x8 album this year with a 3 inch spine -- I think Ali's are 2.5? Downside is it matches her collection, though you could probably paint or cover it with paper/fabric. On Saturday I had a lil peppermint liqueur coffee beverage where my lush of a cat was getting handsy and wanted some. While I wasn't looking she stuck her paw in and we had a whole conversation about legal drinking ages and it was a cute bit. ..only for me to find last night while crafting and partaking in another drink (mulled wine, delish) that boozy hand of hers walked all over a couple of my pages And not even in a cute way where you can tell they're paw prints!

Days 6 is about the nutcracker.
I’m ahead on story ideas. Lol. But I have only scrapped to day 4.

Is anyone making the last minute decision to create a DD album? Sort of. I always make notes, journal, list stories I want to remember. But I did find a 4x6 Simple Stories snap album in my stash from an SCT class, and may try to use this. I have so much physical and digital xmas supplies, I will be just fine. lg Omg! So sorry. Glad he is ok. The only thing I'm almost completely up to date with? Hallmark movies. I kid you not. Omg sleepingbooty me too. I have watched more this year than ever. And honestly, have enjoyed them! Remembering to dvr has helped. I really liked The Santa Summit! I put it on as background noise thinking it would be dumb, but like how it spoke to friendship. I also have enjoyed all the on location ones, mostly to see the scenery, but the stories haven't been too bad. I like when they put a little history lesson in there too. I have to go back and finish the Scottish one and Biltmore. I liked Heidelberg Holiday and Norwegian Holiday (I celebrate St. Lucia day, so liked the reference.) I still have to go back to watch the Notting Hill one and Joyeaux Noel. I've been checking off my Hallmark checklist, I think I've watched 9 so far and I should have more time towards Christmas to catch up. Glad to see you back, prompting & memeing again!
