I’m loving Ali’s daily DD videos so far. She’s really getting crafty and seems excited about what she’s making.

I’ll swap you some sun blemon, it’s going to be 108F here on Saturday 🥵 Oh yuck. That doesn't sound any better. I honestly don't mind the cold too much but it's just been rainy/snowy/cloudy for days and days now. But this morning it was bright enough that I took some photos! I'll upload to Insta in a bit. I’m loving Ali’s daily DD videos so far. She’s really getting crafty and seems excited about what she’s making. Me too! I've been watching process videos at lunch and really enjoying it. What a mess that fuse tool seems to be. I keep thinking about it then deciding I don't need it. This is another check in the con column.

Ok, first post: http://instagram.com/p/C0hIJr-OLe5 There is so much going on! Color, pattern, texture. It’s so fun. Now I’m ready. I was faking it while making it but seeing it like this has given me a recharge!

Love it, blemon ! So far I have 5 days of Bah Humbug so I'm thinking I need to do a different sort of album this year. A Looking Back album maybe. I'm feeling nostalgic, so this is probably what I'll do this year. I noticed that ojyma is doing a 4x6 album and keeping it simple. Struck me as a very good idea!

blemon I love all the stitching on the shaker page! I am hoping to sit down thos afernoon and tonight to play. Dd is getting her infusion currently so we are camped out in the living room. Had to make a change to one of the lines with the regulator (she uses a pressure spring pump) to slow her down as she was running under an hour. Subcutaneous infusions like hers need to run over an hour. Anyways, we are now at about 1.5 hours. With that said I took this sweet photo of dd's hand petting Hope (who we adopted end of June). Hope has really learned her role as dd's therapy dog. ETA: this will be day 7.

That little green tree is soooo very Who-vile, love it. Was it from a diecut pack or something you cut yourself? Thank you! That tree is from some weird stickers I bought a long time ago. It's actually foam. There were elves on the sheet and some other things. It's so old the adhesive was gone so I had to use the roller. I'm afraid it will disintegrate! They weren't scrapbooking stickers. With that said I took this sweet photo of dd's hand petting Hope (who we adopted end of June). Hope has really learned her role as dd's therapy dog. So sweet! I love how the tree is very bokeh in the back. Great shot.

blemon love the table of contents idea! Definitely stole that from Ali. She has them all in her front cover but that doesn't work for 6X8 so I did this instead. I set the acetate down on my cutting mat and used the lines to center each circle inside a 2x2" square. These are 1.25" so easy to replicate if you have a punch. For some I'm going to punch circles of ephemera (like wrapping paper). They won't all be stickers/tiny images.
And Thank you!!

So I have this idea. Last night while mindlessly scrolling I saw a photo of one of the old Sears Christmas Catalogs. Aging myself here, but my brother and I waited very impatiently for that thing to arrive. I'd page through it slowly until I got to the toys. We would dog ear and circle to our hearts delight. Than I discovered a shop on Etsy has photo scans of the entire 1984 catalog. I kind of want to purchase it and add a photo of it for my looking back page in DD. My kids are totally mystified that we had to fill out a paper order form and mail it in.

I've been so excited about jumping back in the DD discussion after a non-crafty autumn that I've forgotten to post the daily prompts in recent days! I'll be double-posting daily until we are caught up. December 4: WORK'Tis the season to be... busy! December's not all twinkle lights and cosy nights. Between all the chores related to the holidays, actual work and getting your home, car and family ready for the change in season, this month is not for the faint of heart. Let's document the hard work that goes into the holiday season. Story prompts | "Many hands make light work." Photograph focusing on the hands and journal about everything that everyone does to make it through this special season. From putting down stamps on mail to switching the car's tyres and doing the Christmas dinner groceries, it's a beautiful way to keep a record of how every member of the family contributes in their own way to making the holiday process a little smoother. Alternatively, document everything festive about and around your workplace (whether it's your actual employment, your craft space or a part of your home you're currently working on e.g. Renovations): the miniature tree, seasonal mug, special stash of holiday sweets but also the view from your workplace window overlooking colourful garlands, the decorations in the neighbourhood of your office building, etc. Creative prompt | To emphasise all the individual efforts, get inspired by slide shows to showcase your photos for this spread. Literally sliding journaling from behind photos? Using cardmaking dies to create interactive elements? Maybe grab a photo template to fit as many pics as possible? Make your page as busy as December life can get. Song of the day:

wordyphotogbabe Beautiful pages! They're not showing as square images on my laptop but definitely as horizontal 8.5x11. I love how you subtly extract colours from the photos to choose how you create your pages. Very elegant! I especially adore the yearly portrait showing the progress from being together to being engaged and, finally, this year, married (congrats!). Such a beautiful transition in life captured within this giant ornament setting (and isn't finding love the most beautiful way to "decorate" one's life after all?). I'm not sure since the two earlier photos are black and white but it seems like you've been planning this LO for a few years by wearing the same coat to get this pic taken in 2021 and 2022. In which case, I tip my hat to you! That's a beautiful example of scrappy forethought. PS: Love all the inclusion of pink, both warm and cool, on your pages. It's soft and feminine without being overpowering. lg Hope your husband is back to his old self. And also, did you say 'Christmas cocktail'?... Are we invited? I hear you've also got a lot of sun to spare. Forget Miami, the Peas are going down under for some shrimp on the barbie this December! blemon Ooooh no! Not the page with everything you'd planned. Did you by chance snap a photo of it? I've learned the hard way that I ought to take the occasional photo when planning out something with pen and paper. It's rough losing a carefully thought-out plan. But how cute is your first DD 2023 post... The peachy pink with tiny dots (it looks so cosy and festive - the perfect backdrop to your pages), the small stars, the variety of trees, the red and green! Aaah, it's making me feel so Christmassy. (And I haven't felt very Christmassy at all so far so kudos.) pantsonfire As I was reading your plan for the cute hats (and treats, lots of treats!) for your dogs, I was wondering how your pups were doing. I know things were difficult with the overly dominant "baby" of the family that had to be rehomed (as someone who's helped with fostering for a couple of years now, I can tell you it just happens sometimes and it's nothing you can just magically solve, unfortunately). Is everything back to normal now? How's Hope doing since joining? janamke Oof, that sounds like a busy and tiring month for both you and your daughter between the inept crew she was handed and your fundraiser from hell. Can't wait to see how those 350 cookies look, however! That'll be an amazing feat to photograph and document. And I think your childhood catalogue as a contrast between now and then is such a great idea. Your kids will absolutely love seeing how things used to be (not just the paper form order but also the actual products from the 1980s!).

sleepingbooty things are going quite well with the dogs. Toby wasn't nervous or fearful and Hope just blended right in. Starting last month she got more cuddly and the dogs began to sleep next to each other on the non crate bed or on the couch or blankets. Her personality is really starting to show and she is starting to give kisses. We allow that as it calms dd and ds when their sensory system or Autism is out of whack. She has learned sit, stay, wait, come, down, up, paw, and to sit and wait for eat command for breakfast and lunch. We will soon be doing doggy DNA to see her breeds. Oh and Toby and Hope love to play together. Not sure how much time we have with Toby. His slow growing cancer is growing. Average is 2-4 years post diagnosis and he is 2 years in. Liver and kidney numbers are up too. But he is 9 and we've had him since he was 1. Oh and Hope was $20. We paid $300 for spay (it was covered, that was our cost for labs, IV fluids, pain meds and cone). She is very healthy and happy.

We are waiting on level 1 training due to doggy mystery illness. Hopefully this spring we can start. Need to do levels 1-3 then AKC good citizenship test then medical alert. We are hopeful to get Hope to be fully credentialed to do medical appointments with dd.

I was unable to locate a basic Advent calendar at two out of the three grocery stores in my neighbourhood. I never skip this tradition but I've just been overwhelmed this year. I got a lucky drop-off tonight: Luna's come to keep us company and my mother drove around until she found some of the last Advent calendars available in store. It's a cheap tiny chocolate one from Lidl that will probably not be very satisfying from a purely gastronomical POV but I felt so loved when she handed me the surprise. She went to three stores until she found something just because I told her on the phone I was genuinely sad I'd been so busy that I missed out on getting us an Advent calendar this year. It's really not much but it *means* a lot. And for that reason, it's a perfect DD story. Meanwhile, enjoy Luna giving us adoring eyes from one of the two beds (each with a special fuzzy blanket, of course) she has here as we get to dogsit her tonight. It's her first Christmas as an "only" dog (no fosters) and I want to document how she's blossomed and shown other sides of her super fun personality as she's embraced being the pup in the house. It's been a beautiful silver lining to not being able to foster right now.

pantsonfire Wonderful news! Not just for you, the humans, but also for Toby who deserves to live out his golden days in peace and for little Hope. It sounds like everything's falling into place and you can move on to training for the certification without worry. Your family has found its balance again and that's all that matters. I'm very glad Hope has been such a wonderful companion to both your daughter (and son) and as long as your kiddos enjoy the puppy kisses, I see no reason to reign it in. It's their way of bonding with us. I can't wait to see your holiday costume dog portraits!

Is anyone making the last minute decision to create a DD album? I finally ordered an album on November 29 and it arrived on December 4! LOL It's the Joy Album from Ali. I liked that it only came with 2 2x2 page protectors. Honestly, I'm still working on 2022 and enjoying it so I'm ok not scrapping any 2023 yet. Chinagirl828 thank you for the link to Paige's dropbox. I'm not on FB so I usually miss out on the freebies and extra content. sleepingbooty now I have that Walker Hays song stuck in my head. carolynhasacat I'm using the CitrusTwist 6x8 for 2022 and it feels so roomy. I am storing all the extra page protectors in there along with my almost finished pages. I just counted and there are 68 page protectors on the rings and there's room for a few more. The cover isn't bulging.

Love it! We did the same thing. And when my daughter was younger she would circle up the Target toy catalog that came in the mail. I documented her with a marker for one DD. I felt so loved when she handed me the surprise. She went to three stores until she found something just because I told her on the phone I was genuinely sad I'd been so busy that I missed out on getting us an Advent calendar this year. This is the most wonderful thing.

Hey, help me out with A Merry Scottish Christmas. Lacey is at the pub or somewhere and she says to a guy she's introduced to, "have we met?" like she knows him.
It was clearly someone she must know from a previous show/movie.
Anyone know? It was cute.

Is the ring configuration the same as Ali's? It looks like 6 rings, but wondering about the spacing? Thanks for the suggestion!

Okay, could use some DD pea help.
I am going to make an end of a package for my wrapping gifts memory page.
What do you think I could use to secure ut down?
I was thinking ribbon that you tie and untie as needed but worry it will eventually fray.
Then I was thinking a button glued to one end but not sure if it would be heavy enough.
Anyone got ideas?

Ugh. Why do I have to work in December? I just want to play in my album. Actually I have tomorrow off so I will be able to for some of the day. I completed my title page and 3 if the days are partially completed. I am excited for Christmas as dh got me a sewing machine so I can finally stitch in my dd! I’m waiting to open until Christmas. My stories so far: 1. Dog tree. On 12/1 right before work in the AM I felt like having some Christmas cheer in my office and grabbed a small already decorated tree I had been storing. It’s dog themed so it’s perfect as my 2 dogs sit with me all day in my office. Journaling is about that and about work as someone asked for a pic and then everyone was sharing pics of Christmas decor. 2. The nutcracker! Because of the nutcracker transparency I had I bought dh and I tickets so I could use the transparency (ok not JUST for that reason). It ended up being a really fun night with going out afterwards as well. 3. A story I entitled “shop local” - it’s about driving by and discovering a brand new sherwin williams that opened in our town right when we need a bunch of paint for working on our new house. Pics of us in store - twice that day- and paints samples on walls etc The other sherwin williams were a ways a way so this was a nice surprise! We were basically the only customers all day and made best friends with the employee. lol 4. Story about all our advent calendars this year. 5. 5 Christmas memories - journal heavy page with lots of throwback Christmas memories- 5 3x8 pages sandwiched in the spread with memories related to each person in our immediate family. 6. This + this + this - I used the AE paper from SBTM with that title to talk about stuff that happened today.

If you burn/melt the end of the ribbon it won’t fray. I’ve seen people secure things with Velcro dots and mini magnets as well (I’m trying to picture what you’re doing so if any of these options are ridiculous please ignore them!)
