Okay, could use some DD pea help. I am going to make an end of a package for my wrapping gifts memory page. What do you think I could use to secure ut down? I was thinking ribbon that you tie and untie as needed but worry it will eventually fray. Then I was thinking a button glued to one end but not sure if it would be heavy enough. Anyone got ideas? If you burn/melt the end of the ribbon it won’t fray. I’ve seen people secure things with Velcro dots and mini magnets as well (I’m trying to picture what you’re doing so if any of these options are ridiculous please ignore them!) Oh velcro! Will look at Joanns today.

Anyone got ideas? I used to use a product called Fray Check. I don't know if they make it anymore but it's clear and it works great to prevent fraying on ribbon and fabric.

December 5: CHOICE
It's the day to tell a story about this special season that is all about choice. While we tend to focus on what's been done and how everything appears, we rarely take the time to keep a record of one (or more) of the many decision-making processes the holidays have in store.
Story prompt | Use the perspective of choice to narrate something from your December: how you decided on a colour theme for your tree, the investigation you led to buy the perfect gift for Secret Santa, how the little ones picked what they were going to ask Santa for Christmas, how you picked your family's stocking fillers this year, etc. This is a great way to record your kids' current likes, your own evolving tastes, new trends you're drawn to and maybe even how decision fatigue has led you to scale back this year.
Creative prompt | Choose your products to play off each other: complementary colours, contrasting patterns, warm and cool tones, matte and shiny finishes, etc. Today's crafty fun is about making a page through decisions based on your aesthetics and preferences. Let it be a feast for your eyes!
Song of the day:

pantsonfire How adorable! Toby seems to be looking for a quick escape while cuteness personified lives up to her name with those hopeful eyes (I'm sure she thought there was a treat in this for her). As for your ribbon issue, like has been said in this thread, a quick swish of hot flame will keep polyester ribbon from unraveling. Don't even worry about velvet ribbon, just cut and it'll stay in place. edme Did you receive my message? I mailed you twice regarding A Biltmore Christmas.

Hey, help me out with A Merry Scottish Christmas. Lacey is at the pub or somewhere and she says to a guy she's introduced to, "have we met?" like she knows him. It was clearly someone she must know from a previous show/movie. Anyone know? It was cute. It's Will Kemp, her co-star in Dancing Detective and Christmas Waltz. When he teaches her the dance, she also says something like "I only know how to waltz and tango." which are the dances they've done together in the previous movies.

It was clearly someone she must know from a previous show/movie. Anyone know? It was cute. I couldn’t remember but I found the trivia on IMDB - it was apparently Will Kemp and they have been in 3 previous Hallmark movies together www.imdb.com/title/tt28237077/trivia/Will Kemp and Lacey did two dance-centric Hallmark together and their fans love them together. "I only know how to waltz and tango." is a callback to these movies ( Christmas Waltz and The Dancing Detective: Deadly Tango). ETA: caspad beat me to it! As an aside, Will Kemp is a professionally trained dancer as in ballet dancer graduated from the Royal Ballet School (London) who was cast as one of lead Swans in the very popular West End - and then Broadway - Swan Lake version by Matthew Bourne from the late 1990s in which the Prince falls in love with a male Swan. Him being at Hallmark now is a delight for all of us ballet fans!

Okay I really need to sit down and play tonight. Didn't get to yesterday. All I have done is title, back, and day 1. It bothers my anxiety when I am behind.

Help. Has anyone watched Letters to Santa?
It looks stupid and I think I want to skip it.
If there's any value in it, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll delete.

I just watched Holiday Road and it was, by far, one of the best movies I have seen this year in any genre/on any service: hallmark, netflix, hulu, dvd, amazon prime, whatever. (I haven't actually been to the theatre in a long time, like 2019).
So good.
I'll be telling everyone about this and hope I can figure out how to watch it every year as a holiday movie.

Finally sat down after dinner and after printing 4 photos my Canon Selphy ran out of ink. And this time I have 10 pieces of photo paper left. Grrr!! New pack comes Saturday. Cheapest to order on Amazon over buying local.

We watched "This is Christmas" on Prime last night. Pleasantly surprised and the cameos by HP and Ted Lasso alum made us smile.
Basically they all commute on the train together (UK) and one dude decides they should know more about each other and invites them all to a Christmas party.

On IG, softdaystudios has a very cute page idea. She cut a cardboard frame but included a tree shape at the bottom. She wrapped yarn around it and it turned out beautiful. You get texture and depth, without much added bulk. I’m excited to try it.
I have been traveling all week for work, so haven’t started DD. Ive been taking pictures of holiday decorations and sights along the way to include. Very happy to be flying home to get the holiday season officially started.

I haven't watched it yet, but there's a magic pen. So that could be good. Leave it on the DVR and you can watch it during the week between Christmas and New Years as background noise. LOL dawnnikol I loved This is Christmas too. And how about that papercut party invitation?

December 6: BLUE
In a month of a red and green, there are also little - or bigger - bits of blue. For most of us, anyway. Today, we're tackling an often hidden side to the holidays. December is not exempt of gloomier days or melancholy. We're getting real for this one.
Story prompt | Create a record of a not-so-cheery moment or state of mind. Are you missing a loved one? Is seasonal affective disorder getting to someone in your family? Is anxiety on the menu this Yuletide? Was there a medical hiccup this month? Maybe even the return of the dreaded surprise guests AKA Covid-19 ? Don't ignore it or lock it away.
Creative prompt | And since we're feeling blue, we might as well express it through our colour palette! Comb your stash for all those blue papers, embellishments, mixed media and alpha sets. Make it a page worthy of Elsa from Frozen.

We need to talk Paris and the ballet. Next year! We aren't going until 2025 so there's time. Yes, let's! I'll need to check if medici.tv is available to you in the US because it's a great streaming platform to follow the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris. Help. Has anyone watched Letters to Santa? Hard skip. I thought the puppy would keep me going but alas... It disappeared until the final scene! Biltmore Christmas was awesome, even DH loved it! Thank you so much sleepingbooty ! I also love today's prompt, because I'm all about the decision fatigue this year. Great idea! Yay! And a double thank-you right back atcha. pantsonfire Oh no! That's the most ill-timed end to the paper + ink combo. Hoping everything goes well with the delivery so you can pick up creating again tomorrow.

PSA: If you *need* to see A Biltmore Christmas, send me private message in the next 24h or so. Don't tag me in here. My brain's too fried and I don't trust myself to not accidentally overlook someone. Just message me directly. Trust me peas you want to see this one it was beautiful - I love the old world feel, there are two Star Trek actors which absolutely made my day as I’m a Trekkie from way back, and the story was beautiful. Jonathan Frakes is why I tuned in. Then I saw Bob Picardo’s picture on the wall and did a double take. Loved both of their Trek characters. 🖖🏻 to a fellow Trekkie!

If you attempted Jennie Rey's ornament pocket from the prep day, did your class download include a file with the harlequin edge? All I'm seeing is a cropped ornament and a cropped pocket with a zig zag edge.

Got our tickets for the local mansion's Christmas Lights drive thru! They started in 2020. At the end you see Mr. And Mrs. Claus and then get a commemorative ornament.
Dd wants to go to the Krampus event next weekend.
Ds did great at his choir performance.
And I started my gift wrapping page. Will show some photos. Have another question.
