So very interesting Former Southern Baptist Pastor says his marital infidelity and sexual misconduct is nobody's business.. Oh? Then why do they NOT support what others do in private, instead of fighting them??!??!

The religious hypocrisy of a former Southern Baptist Convention leader is center stage in an ongoing lawsuit, arguing that one man’s private sins shouldn’t be fodder for public allegations.

It all stems back to revelations from 2022 about the SBC, in which we learned that, over the previous decade, more than 250 SBC staffers or volunteers had been “charged with sex crimes” against more than 700 victims. We also learned in the SBC’s own investigation that a private list of alleged predators (that wasn’t shared with member churches) included “703 abusers, with 409 believed to be SBC-affiliated.” The situation was so bad that the Department of Justice announced it was investigating “multiple SBC entities,” though not specific individuals, about their mishandling of sexual abuse cases. That investigation is ongoing.

But the relevant part of that document for today’s story was the allegation about former SBC president Johnny Hunt.

According to page 149, another pastor and his wife reported that Hunt, who ran the SBC from 2008-2010, “had sexually assaulted the wife on July 25, 2010.”

If it was purchased, it's possible he was able to do so through a gun show loophole that wouldn't require him to pass a background check.

"The 'gun show loophole' refers to the fact that federal law does not require unlicensed private sellers to perform background checks on gun purchasers, so those sales are unregulated unless state law steps in to fill the gap," explains United Against Gun Violence.

But Reuters reporter Brad Heath explained that his buying it would be against federal law. "18 U.S.C. § 922(d)(1) makes it a federal crime to sell a firearm to a person who is under felony indictment. And 18 U.S.C. § 922(n) makes it a federal crime for a person under indictment to ship or transport a firearm."

WOW, he keeps coming up with all these 'new' facts. More like alternative facts ... oh, another powerful Florida governor Jeb Bush..🤣🤣🤣

By "everything," he means letting HIM off the hook. He seems to think that the criminal justice system will shut down if the gov't does, but he's wrong.

So, I guess all current laws will go away, or just be pre-empted by his whims of any given moment? The list is scary, yes; but the indication it gives of how little he understands about how things work is stunning. Just one example: Any government worker can tell you that it's pretty hard to fire one of them without cause (and sometimes with cause). Any historian or legal scholar can tell you that firing somebody for political reasons has been illegal since the Pendleton Act of 1883. Seems that he needs to see the full line of "Schoolhouse Rock" cartoons. 

He does seem particularly raving bonkers today. Desperation creeping up on him, maybe? 

Even if he can’t do these this is his thinking. These statements were made over time. The last few days he had threatened top military personnel with execution and any media that doesn’t sing his praises which sure sounds like something straight out if Russia or China. The violence is stunning but not new as he was calling for the hanging of Pence I don’t think he was actually saying it but encouraging those that were and later said that maybe he deserved it.

I really hope so. It would cause chaos. We also know what a great job he does with hiring people 😂 he later turns on them when they don’t go along with everything he says and does. He hired all these people that have later gone on to testify or speak out against him. The fact that they were all lifetime republicans says a lot. We know these 40k+ would all be loyal to him. The fact that he would want the entire armed forces to swear allegiance to him is freaky. Yes they serve the president but they are to protect the constitution and our citizens. I would think the fact that he was very clear that he would set aside the constitution would be a red flag to anyone. You can’t just set it aside for a while then pick it up again. You can’t ignore the parts that are trying to protect the country from someone that only cares about their power. I like that this was so clear cut with dates and actual clips. Great compilation but scary as I had forgotten most of the craziness and what I remembered was bad enough.

Is Esper trying to protect Milley? Either way it is common for the contacting with counterparts..

SCOTUS has again voted down the Alabama redistricting Congressional map.. Roberts and Kavanaugh voted with Sotomayor, Kagan and Brown-Jackson.

The order is the second time this year that the generally conservative-favoring court has blocked congressional lines found to discriminate against Black voters in the state, who for years have only been given a single majority district out of seven, despite making up a quarter of Alabama's population.

The consequence of the ruling was that Alabama was required to draw a new map that contained two majority-Black districts. However, the legislature openly defied this order, drawing a new map that, just like the old one, only had a single majority-Black district.

A three-judge panel overseeing the redistricting, including two judges appointed by former President Donald Trump, rejected this remedial map as not compliant, paving the way for a court-appointed special master to select a map instead. Alabama responded by appealing, unsuccessfully, to the Supreme Court to reinstate the map they had drawn.

The redistricting decision has potential consequences for several other Southern states, which are also facing legal challenges to the way they have divided up Black voters in congressional districts. This could have far-reaching impacts on Republican odds of retaining their narrow House majority in 2024, as the general effect of these racial gerrymanders has been to give Republicans extra seats.
