If you could only see how I struggle during harvest.
I pack my entire days food at 6 am. I have been known to have it all gone by 10 am.
I cut my sandwiches into quarters, thinking I will eat just one quarter, starting at 11 am. Usually I can hold out and not destroy the entire thing right away, but if I am waiting in line to dump my grain.... it's a struggle and it's usually all gone by the time I hit the empty scale. LOL
My husband, on the other hand will often come home at night and finish his lunchbox then. I usually put a small fun size candy bar in his lunch and it might be in there the entire week. Unless it is Peanut M&M's. He loves those. LOL

I think a whole batch of chocolate chip cookies (several dozen) is one serving.

Not a chance. I pack a few m&m’s for my lunch and try to make them last all day. By noon they are almost gone and I force myself to save the last one until 3;00. Sometimes I can make it that long and sometimes I don’t.
Every once in a while someone will bring in donuts. Someone will cut one in half. Then someone will cut that in half and just take 1/4 of a donut. Who does that?

First of all I didn't know CFA had cookies. Second, I don't know that I could be friends with someone who could make a cookie or candy bar last like that.

If it’s a standard sized cookie, no. I’ll eat the whole thing. If it’s a big cookie I will eat a half at a time.

I am a terrible sugar addict. Terrible, terrible.
I would much rather not have any of the sweet, than to torture myself with half, or a bite.
I'm not even trying to sound dramatic, or silly. I really think sugar addiction is a very under-discussed problem in first world countries.

I have never tried a CFA cookie. Depending on how sweet it is, I could see myself eating only half of it at a time. I don’t eat Snickers, but I rarely eat an entire Milky Way bar at once. The bite sized pieces are just right for me.

No way. Sugar is a major "if I eat one, I will eat 20" thing for me. My brother in law can just snap a piece of chocolate off of a chocolate bar and be satisfied. Like, what's that about? How can that be normal? It drives my sister insane. I usually eat one row at a time. The chocolate bar can last several days. I guess I am not normal. 😆

My rule is hell no, don't bring that into the house. I will eat sweet stuff and not stop until it is gone. I can easily polish off an entire cheesecake in one day. I do it every Christmas.

What I think is odd is that she kept it for a few days! (Am I the only one who would toss whatever wasn’t eaten???)

I should revise my answer a little bit since I didn't pay attention to the "Chik-fil-a" part of the OP. I've never eaten in a Chik-fil-a in my life so I had no idea that their cookies were big. For a big cookie I might eat only half...like maybe if I'd just finished a big lunch too. But knowing me I'd probably eat the other half later in the day.

DH (who is not a half a cookie person) and I (who IS a half a cookie person) came to the 2 day rule early in our marriage. if it's been out for 2 days it's fair game. If I've got a treat I'll deliberately hide half of it not so I won't eat it, but so it will be there 3 days later when I remember I have half a treat left and go looking for it.

I think a whole batch of chocolate chip cookies (several dozen) is one serving. I mix up a batch of cookies, bake a dozen and then freeze the other two dozen on parchment paper to just unroll and bake when the first is gone. I keep trying but it turns out, frozen cookie dough is even better than baked cookies. A bag of chips can sit for weeks; a package of cookies is gone in about 24 hours, lol.

Oh, hell no. In my book, a box of thin mints has two servings. I like the way you think, LOL. The only time I’ll eat half a candy bar is if it’s one of those king sized ones that have double the normal amount. And that’s only sometimes. If it’s a Milky Way, I’m pushing through and eating the whole thing. A cookie would have to be pretty big for me to stop halfway. I’m no quitter!

. . That would be no. I'm better off eating no cookie than trying to eat just half of one. haha I’m semi good at not buying any now that I live alone. But when I’m expecting my kids I buy them & I have to be very conscious as to how I’m eating them

We have an annual meeting for the rehabilitation district for our lake place every summer and one of the high points is that someone always brings donuts. For some weird reason, this one lady always feel compelled to cut every donut in half. WTH? Half of the people don’t even take half a donut and the other half of the people end up eating a whole one and there is always at least a full box of donuts leftover at the end of the meeting. All cut in half. It’s just stupid. Leave the donuts whole and if someone only wants half they can cut ONE donut in half. That way the rest of the donuts don’t get all dried out and nasty on the cut side.

My guess is that she wants to make sure there is enough for everyone, or she thinks more people will take one if they are already cut. It is sort of like a cake or pie. Some people are shy about cutting into one, so someone will cut up the whole thing beforehand. But, I agree, it dries out the pieces.

I'm a half a package o' cookies kinda gal. LOL. OK, maybe not that much, but no, I could not eat half of a cookie or Twix. What would be the point? I've had neither a cookie nor a candy bar in many years and as a lover of both cookies and chocolate that is saying something.

But the thing is, we’ve been going to these meetings annually for over TEN YEARS and it’s always the same 50 people who attend (unless someone dies). And it’s always the same thing where there’s always at least a full box of donuts (roughly 18 full donuts) left at the end. Sometimes more! So it makes no sense to me that they: keep getting the same quantity of donuts, they are always cut in half and they always have so many left at the end. It’s just weird!

Yeah, that's me. I keep a caramello bar in the refrigerator and eat one square at a time, and I would eat half a cookie. Sugar makes me feel kind of gross, and I don't have a big sweet tooth.
Now give me some cheese and I'll eat a pile of it. My thing just isn't sweets.

In the past..... no. I am now. For two reasons. Portion control, because of needing to watch my sugar intake, because of borderline sugar levels. Portion control, because of menopause weight gain and weight fluctuation. Limits and moderation is required. A small bite or taste of something, is better than none at all. Same here. I'm getting the semaglutide shot and I have a horrible sugar/fat/food addiction. Before the shot I could devour a pack of PF Chesapeake cookies in an afternoon easily. I always wondered how others could be so fulfilled eating ONE cookie or serving, etc. The cravings are pretty much subdued. This shot makes me feel normal. I'm so thankful for this tool.

One cookie, yes. Half? No way!
Three sittings? She's punking you!
(assuming the cookie is 2.5 inches like basketlady said)

Literally just finished eating 3 cookies when I saw this thread title. To be fair, I’ve barely eaten anything today, but still, I’m on Ozempic. I do limit myself a lot now, but it’s not my willpower, it’s my inability to eat much at one time.

My son's girlfriend eats 1/2 a bag of the 1 oz. Chips. She puts a chip clip on it and eats the other one days later. It stays in there because no one in our family wants half a tiny bag of chips. I'll never understand her restraint.

I don't even understand people like this LOL. I'm presently off sugar/sweets and doing great. Why? because I literally have no self control when it comes to sweets. I'm an all or nothing kind of gal. If I can wean myself off of sweets, I do great. If I'm eating treats, I eat everything.
