For me it would be easier because using the small bottles of glue you have to squeeze and hold your fingers & thumb pretty closely together and when my thumb hurts that’s not ideal. With something like this there is a larger area to wrap your hand around and it looks like I could get away without using my thumb much at all. But I don’t use liquid glue much, and my arthritis in my thumb(s) isn’t far advanced and doesn’t always hurt. Happy to wait and see another company’s version of this. It does remind me of a caulk gun!

It looks too bulky for me and it seems that it would be difficult to place the glue right where you want it to go. I use glossy accents but I would like a fine tip bottle of glue. Just not this one. Maybe she’ll try and patent the fine tip as well.

The “patent pending” is utterly ridiculous. Isn’t this just a mini version of a caulk gun? I’ve watch a couple videos where Jennifer McGuire used it. She made it look totally awkward to use. Can’t the stinky flower go away now. I just saw it in JMs Spellbinders Advent Kit video and didn’t know who made it. But my first thought was that it did look like it was awkward to use for her and the lines of glue were not particularly thin. JM says she doesn’t review things unless she loves them, so I guess she does, but I am not sure it fulfills a need for me. It is not on my want or need list.

Looks intriguing. Jennifer McGuire has a video - starts about 8 minutes in. It's a lot of money for the convenience of squeezing with a handle, avoiding the need to cap and not worrying about clogged glue tips. But, it's nice to have options. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbuClkHUyDg&t=2sIt is nice to have options and not everyone hates MSP like we do Thanks for sharing the video. I thought it was a pretty good review. Simon Hurley said he’s going to review it soon too. The tiny fine tip bottles that JMcG recommends were murder on my hands, especially with matte medium in them. I think the trigger action would be hard on my hands and switching to a medium sized bottle of Bearly Art glue solved the squeezing problems I was having for much less investment. If I want to store my glue upside down I think I’ll support Make it by Marko. I have never once seen Simon say anything bad about anything he reviews. No matter what he still finds something positive to say. I think the worst I’ve heard him say is that another way of doing something works just as well but this is nice for those that like it. Considering how poorly some of the internet has treated him I am always surprised by that, not sure why I’m surprised since he’s always been positive. But I take his reviews with a grain of salt also.

I just watched JMs video. It is an option for those that need/want it, but not for me. First, would like it much better if it made to with some sort of universal adapter. I use all sorts of liquid glues and I wouldn't want to have to put them all in a Tonic container and then try to remember which is which or spent time labeling when the labeling is already done on the original bottle.
Also, the handle would be an issue for me. I do not glue holding my paper in the air, especially small sentiments, gems, sequins, and small die cut pieces. Because of the handle length, gluing pieces laying on the table looks very awkward. Also, it seems to start a line with a big blob and when you need tiny dots for small pieces, which in card making is what I use liquid glue for, it doesn't appear to do what I would want. And finally I think the size of the tool itself would simply get in the way of fussy gluing tiny pieces.
I am not able to determine from photos if there is a hidden bible verse somewhere on this tool, which is one of several reasons I have sought alternatives to the MISTI. I am not sure about the patent pending; it seems to be like so many other crafting tools that were adapted from other markets. It is a unique tool to papercrafting, but is it really unique to the maker/tool world at large?

I wouldn't buy one just out of principle since MSP was so ugly to the crafting community. But it's also not something that I need. I use Bearly Arts glue for my wet option and don't have issues which clogging. When my glue gets low, I refill so I don't have issues getting it to the tip. I do need to start storing it down on a wet something while using it. Then I don't have to contend with the pin in/out thing. I never lose my pin because when it comes out it always goes in a dish in my drawer so it doesn't get lost on my tabletop.

As for the product in the OP I prefer art glitter glue with the teeny tiny metal adapter on it. I can’t see how a trigger would be any less painful to squeeze than a bottle especially since my biggest issue is squeezing triggers. I’m a no thank you

I know this is an older thread, but . . .
I’m disappointed to see several of the crafting influencers using this tool. I do not understand their support of MSP.

I really don’t know if there’s pressure applied or if they all genuinely love her and the products. I often suspect that it’s not without some coercion or pressure… if not from her directly perhaps from the affiliated companies that do business with her. But I didn’t know. I finally refilled my glue bottle today and was shocked by how little I need to squeeze when my bottle is actually full. I definitely don’t need a glue press using Bearly Art glue!

I hadn't even heard of this until you posted about it, joblackford . With the exception of a small set of paper crafters who have very specific needs in terms of health, I just don't get this product. It really isn't that hard squeezing a glue bottle. I doubt MSP will be suing anyone over patents on this one...

I do not understand their support of MSP. if they aren't absolute fans of the product, i think they do it as a courtesy and as part of a marketing collaboration. most influencers do this for each other. brings attention to both of them. plus, the influencer probably got it for free as part of a public relations package. if they do it for make up, why not craft or other products?

Between this and so many of them feeling like infomercials, I no longer ‘trust’ them to be as honest as I feel they used to be. I have definitely narrowed my list of favorites or people I watch and tend to watch more older content then newer.

i have the same general distrust from pitchmen and "influencers". they are all incentivized one way or another. i am more likely to trust the opinion of a fellow pea or a regular someone who bought the item on their own.

Yes! I used to have two card makers that I enjoyed watching. Now every video is new product and making sure they say the company name over and over. Now I watch the one’s older videos and the other I only watch for techniques. But that has helped me find a few others I enjoy, Dawn with Wplus 9, Mindy Eggen and Mint Twist Cards.

Thanks for starting this thread, joblackford . I had seen this just this morning, and was wondering if anyone had tried it. I don't have trouble squeezing the glue bottle, but I do have trouble remembering to stick the pin back into the tip so the glue doesn't seal itself off. Karen Burniston (die designer and demonstrator) puts a wet shammy in a cup when she is going to start crafting, removes the lid from the glue bottle and upends it onto the shammy. Keeps the glue from clogging and quite a bit cheaper than the glue press. Karen Burniston’s tip works well for me, too, and I also recommend using her preferred glue and glue bottles (both available on her site). They are easy to use, and they don’t take up much space. They make it easy to get enough glue on my project without the glue gushing out too much. You can put your preferred glue in her glue bottle, but I also really like the Lineco glue she recommends. I see no reason to buy anything associated with MSP, but even if I did, I really wouldn’t want a bulky (IMO) glue applicator taking up precious space on my craft table.

Ugh, I hope to never support My Sweet Petunia! Plus as one pea mentioned, this is basically a caulk gun but she’s going to get a patent?? Just like the patent for the misty even though letter presses have been around forever 🙄

You did know how to embed it! 👏 👏 That made me laugh even though I’ve never even heard of the show I try not to use her company or product names to much in case we Beetlejuice her into our happy place

I just spotted the product in 2 more YTer's videos. sigh... They both looked pretty awkward using it. I only trust one to give an honest opinion, not sure about the other. Did she send it to everyone? So far I haven't heard anyone say whether they bought it or got it for free and that annoys me. Whether they're willing to give a review yet or not, I think they should say if they were gifted it.

I feel like since most of them are using it but not doing a lot of promotion, they got them for free. Just a feeling, nothing else. But they aren’t pushing it verbally like they do other things.
