Thanks joyfulnanakitbop - it's good Southern home-style cooking and they serve breakfast all day (they also have lunch/dinner items). Our waitress today was covering two sections and she was obviously super busy but still very friendly and made sure we had refills and anything we needed. We took the girls to Culvers for an afternoon treat - frozen custard. Today's flavour was peach crisp - yum! DD23 did end up taking a nap afterwards and headed to bed jusdt after 8pm...I don't think she slept much on the overnight train. Tomorrow DD17 has a morning hike with Girl Scouts and DD23 will join us for a shorter hike at a different state park. Then we'll take her shopping for an outfit to wear to her friend's wedding next weekend as what she had planned to wear didn't fit.

That sounds like a wonderful time Linda. gramma just tag me when you are ready to open a crop. I'm doing a few things this morning before the early games start, and there might be an appearance by a 9 year old. Possibly, depending on time we crop lol. He did not want to go with practice with dad and swore he would "keep himself entertained during my scrapbook meeting". LOL I hope you are all having a great Sunday, I'm off to get a few chores done and then figure out what to work on today.

that's a fun costume joyfulnanaWe had a busy day but fun! Dropped DD17 off for a hike with her Girl Scout troop at 9 at one state park and headed to another nearby one with DD23 - we hiked and went down 123 steps into a sinkhole to an observation platform and then back up again, did some geocaching, DD23 hunted some Pokemon. Then we collected DD17 and headed to the mall -DD23 found some clothes without too much drama - yay! We had lunch and went to two bookstores before heading back home. DDs are watching a horror movie this evening -I do NOT watch horror.

I laughed so hard when I saw it 😂. How did you do with the stupid tomatoes? Lol. It was so good to see you guys today justjac. gramma kitbop, it didn’t occur to me to actually show you what I got at Joann today. Until I walked past the bag later . I’m so used to bringing things home, showing them to myself a time or two and putting them away 😂 Linda your excitement is coming through in your posts. It makes me happy reading them 🙂. I had to chuckle at getting clothes with no drama. I remember some of that lol. gramma I will 🙂

Good Monday morning, Pokeys. How is your week shaping up? Tuesday evening is book club with justjac, but I plan to drive mid morning, do some errands, print some photos, and then spend the afternoon in the LSS scrapping some of those pic's. After book club I will drive to dd's where I will spend the night and get dgs off to school in the morning (dd has a meeting which will mean leaving early and getting back late). Wednesday morning, while he is in school, I plan to scrap at her house. Hoping to set up a Pea crop about 9:30am Mountain time. Not sure what Thursday will bring, but Friday dh and I have scheduled FLU and COVID booster shots. Saturday, there is a craft fair a few miles from here. I plan to pick up my niece to go there, and have invited justjac to meet us there, then come back here to make some Christmas cards. Today I am having a "ketchup day", doing little things around the house, making soup with the navy beans that have been soaking since yesterday and pork hocks. I am also doing a bit of diecutting and stamping to finish off the kits I packed yesterday.

Hello, Pokeys! All the festivities are over and everyone has gone home. It was nice to meet and visit with relatives we had never met. DH's sister and husband were able to spend a lot of time with us, reminiscing about past days. It was worth all the deep cleaning, rearranging and giving up the scrapbook room. It will take a while to get things back to working space. joyfulnana , that is the cutest Halloween costume! Does he get to wear it for a school parade? He will be the hit at every home if he goes trick-or-treating. Rudy is a cutie! Why do they grow up so fast? Congrats on the new job situation. I'm glad they are willing to do what it takes to keep you. You are obviously very valuable where you are. Linda , I am so happy that you have had time with DD and that you will be able to be with all your children during the holidays. BTW, I'm with you on horror movies. I just don't want those images in my head! There are enough scary things in day to day living. LOL. Your eating out, doing some hiking and visiting a bookstore sounds like a wonderful day together. Your DS's bathrobe sounds wonderful! gramma , I'm sorry I have missed out on some online crops. I hope to be able to join soon. How is the hand doing? I have a nerve in my injured finger that makes it feel like it's on fire if the tip of my finger touches anything just right. Otherwise I'm doing well. Hope your hand is behaving. Now...Covid? Could you have any more lousy events in your life? Has it been a hard case, and how are you feeling now? We need to wrap you in bubble wrap and keep you indoors away from people! Hugs! kellyr21 , it's so great to see you crafting. I left you love in the gallery. I love the way you separated the tags and used them on your scrapbook page. The decorations and embellishments on each are so fun. I love the lift up sentiment. How are your cooking classes going? I was happy to read that you and Ron have found a new quiet beach. What fun! I hope to see more of your art posted. When I am under stress I need scrappy time to calm me out. Before the festivities I cut out 13 Halloween cards and between events I would put a couple together on the kitchen table. It was the smartest thing I have done. I got them all in the mail to grands and great-grands this morning. I'll post a photo here. Hoping to get back into Cardtober, but I make no promises. I'm still searching for things I tucked away. I just lost half of my post when I went back to add a question mark! Aargh! I'll try to remember what I wrote. knutschen , so nice to see your happy face popping up. I love that photo of you. What a great service you have done with your bike riding. You must be in great physical condition. I hope you are, and are feeling well. How is work going? Are you seeing many bad Covid cases. We have a few around us, but they are usually in vaccinated people and are light cases. I hope things are good at your hospital. Did you get your portfolio finished? Does it lead to an advancement at work? justjac , how is Dean feeling? I'm sorry you had to leave him behind for Thanksgiving. I wish I could be a little mouse in the room as you and grammadee get together to scrap. You must have such fun together. Any other plays on the horizon? grammadee , you have had a very busy harvest. I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. I don't know how you manage to travel so much and still have your "engergizer bunny" energy. I hope your grands do well in their Hockey season. You are a very busy family. Your ham hock and beans sounds delicious! I think I will make some next week. We love soups in the winter and it's been a long time since I did that. If you have an online crop on Wed. I might be able to hop on. I have a dental appt at 9:30, but should be home by 10:30. kitbop , I am impressed that you could even walk after your bike adventure. How are things going with your mom's home? Did you accept the offer? Have you started any house hunting? A house that was comfy with little children seems mighty small when those little ones are large adults, right? Having a lot of adults around made me wish for a larger home, but I wouldn't want to have cleaned anything larger than this one! I can't believe you made another album for a colleague who is leaving. You are unbelievable. It must have taken hours because you don't do anything half-hearted!

nylene !! There you are! I've been missing you. The hand is better. The brace they wanted me to wear just did not work for me. It didn't fit right and made my hand hurt worse. So I got compression gloves. What a difference! I have most of the flexibility back and regaining strength every day. The sale of the old house closed last Friday. So that is done. Sort of sad and sort of glad. The contractor finished the front porch last week and the painters were here Saturday. I am really liking it. This coming weekend my son and grandsons are supposed to put up the cover and hand rails on the steps and that will be done. Next up is the garage which is still waiting for permits. For pete's sake - it's a square building! What's so hard about that? Now Covid! I'm on day 10 and I am very tired of this!! I am feeling much better, just a sniffly nose and a little chest congestion. But DUDE - can I have a negative please!

gramma , your house must be getting so comfy! I'm sure there was a bit of sadness as you closed on your old house. Good for hand recovery, not so good on Covid! I hope you soon get a negative. It's your turn to be healthy again! Here are examples of the cards I made for the grands and great-grands. They kept my sanity in the past 2 weeks. Lots of fun to make. Halloween Window Cards

Good afternoon Pokeys! grammadee - sounds like a good week ahead. Not sure I can hop on the crop but maybe if it's a down time here. Welcome back nylene. I'm glad that you had a good time with the relatives. Those cards are amazing! gramma - glad the hand is doing better and that you're starting to feel better with the covid - fingers crossed for a negative soon. Quiet day here -DH had to work and DD17 is off school so the girls have mostly been spending time together. DD23 and I did make chocolate chip cookie bars together and the three of us went for a walk catching pokemon...I still don't think I understand it but all 3 kids seem happy I'm trying the app, lol. I'm still plugging away at labelling photos...I'm back to 1975 (started at 2019) so making progress

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are having a good day. I am working on another Paige Evan's inspired layout today. I want to do another Heidi Swapp pocket card this week, too. I had a crocheting and drawing/painting class earlier and this later afternoon, I have a cooking class and two others. I did sign up for the 12 Days of Christmas Cards, too. joyfulnana - Oh your layouts in the gallery are marvelous! I love seeing Abby resting on you. Also, you selfie was cute about your sweater. Looks like you got some mojo going. nylene - It is so frustrating when you loss a post after all that typing! LOL! I get it! Glad to see you made it through all your activities. Your Halloween cards are adorable. I left you some love in the gallery. grammadee - Any special cooking this week? linda - How are your fur babies these days? kitbop - How is little Poppy? Since I don't have a pet, I have to live through you, joyfulnana and linda ! LOL! justjac - How is school? How many students do you have this year? Your cards in the gallery are so cute. Your coloring of the images is so good.

nylene - effusive love in the gallery - those are spooktacular! Quiet day here -DH had to work and DD17 is off school so the girls have mostly been spending time together. DD23 and I did make chocolate chip cookie bars together and the three of us went for a walk catching pokemon...I still don't think I understand it but all 3 kids seem happy I'm trying the app, lol. tell your DD I'm level 45 almost to 46... I've been pokemoning since the game came out. When DS25 and I go for our walks, we are pokemoning. It's a rather silly "game". But because it's social and you can play anywhere (waiting in dance competitions, waiting in doctors offices etc) it's a good time-filler. kellyr21 - thanks for asking! Poppy is the sweetest ball of friendliness ever. She wants nothing more than to love on strangers when we're out walking. She is only 11 lbs. We expected her to be bigger but she's probably barely going to be 12 lbs. She got fixed last week and had to be in the cone for several days, and that was one sad puppy! She's very stubborn, and possibly stupid too so her obedience training is ongoing... Well guys... we just (I think) sold my Mom's house. We got much (10%) less than expected. The market has really turned down this year (we notice this even in our hotspot of a city) and we kinda missed the good months at the beginning of last year, so it is what it is. If this goes thru, it would be nice to wind everything up. That means I have to take another trip out to BC to load up a shipping crate. Ugh.

sounds like you have loads of crafty fun ahead kellyr21kitties are doing great - the weather is a bit cooler and they've gotten more active and are playing more so there are toy mice all over the house. And Dusty has been crawling under the covers at night and snuggling in. kitbop - I'll play it with the kids because it's always nice to have something in common but I don't know how into it I'll get. Sorry about the lower price on your mum's house - we had a similar situation with my mum's - we had an offer and Covid hit and the buyer backed out and we ended up selling it for less down the road.

Today I am making room in my fridge by cutting up a big cabbage to make lazy cabbage rolls to have for supper and to freeze for later. Next week I need to cook up one last batch of tomatoes. Not sure I can hop on the crop but maybe if it's a down time here. Don't know if you tried to sign on for the crop that wasn't. So sorry to nylene and others who tried. I had trouble with Google from the start: usually my iPad is just automatically logged into it, but maybe it didn't like that I was using a different location? Then I had trouble copying and pasting the crop address. Must have made a tiny error (or at least one I couldn't see when I was proofing it, or when I was double checking later when Google kept reminding me that I was "the only one in this meeting". Rude, Google. Rude. Anyway I managed to put together five double pagers between Tuesday at the LSS and Wednesday at dd's in the Crop-that-Wasn't. Hoping to photograph and share them later.
Welcome back to our corner of cyberspace, nylene . Glad you had a great family time. Hope it doesn't take too long to get your scrap space back to a form you can play with paper in. It was good to chat with you on-line last weekend, gramma and joyfulnana. So glad you are both feeling well enough to play. Saw your super fun pages in the Gallery, kitbop. I need to get over there and give them some love. Bet you are happy scrapping your own stories again.
justjac and I plan to make Christmas cards on Saturday. I need to shove my fall supplies to the side and open that infamous Christmas Corner Cupboard... Feel like there should be a suitably solemn Duh duh DUM of a piano, or a drum roll here... Once that cupboard is opened it will explode like Fibber McGee's closet, and I won't be able to close it until sometime in February... Wish me luck. If you don't hear from me I will be buried in tinsel and glitter and fake snow...

Happy Friday! Hope you all are doing well today. I will continue working on my Heidi Swapp pocket card. This will be my 3rd one I've made. I did watch several of the 12 Days of Christmas Cards this week. Very pretty designs! Not sure if I am up to making Christmas cards this year but it is fun getting new ideas and inspiration. grammadee and kitbop - I left some praise in the gallery for you. grammadee- Your cabbage rolls sound nice and hardy. Yum! What are you gonna do with the tomatoes? kitbop- Glad little Miss Poppy is a ball of sunshine! Hope she is better from her procedure. nylene- Hope you are back to normal after your gathers. Waving hi! linda- Dusty sounds like he has the best sleeping spot in the house. LOL! So cute!

Hey my pokey friends! I hope everyone is well and having a great day. It’s beautiful here today, but it’s a home game day so no “getting out” lol. I want to watch the game anyway lol. Welcome back nylene! I don’t know if he can wear it in school since his face is covered. I know when mine were in school, they couldn’t wear anything that hid their face. But I didn’t have the heart to say Anything to him, he is looking forward to wearing it to school. I hope he can! Your cards are adorable! What a great idea to cut them all so you would be able to get that downtime you needed! I should maybe try crafting to de-stress instead of shopping for supplies LOL! kitbop and Linda Level 37 here! Lol. I got talked into it by Rudy. He quit after some months and I played die hard for a year or so. Now I only play when Rudy wants to, every few months. It is fun having that in common with him. grammadee wow you sure get a lot done between the farm and scrapping! I love it that DGS wants to craft with you. And the cards are fabulous! You and justjac are so lucky to be able to hangout together.I too would love to be a mouse in the corner lol. kellyr21 you give me so much FOMO about all the classes you are taking and all the new things you are trying. I’m finally ready to admit I am not a card maker. I love love love handmade cards, but I’m not a maker there. Linda Dusty sounds like such a sweetie. Sometimes I wish Abby was an under the covers sleeper, but I would probably end up getting bit lol. I run into her enough in my sleep when she is above the covers lol. kitbop, I’m sorry you had missed the hot housing market and had to take less for your mum’s house. I hope it can all be wrapped up quickly, but more importantly SMOOTHLY for you! Man, this week went by in such a blur. I don’t know if I told you all about my flat tire about 10 days ago. It had a huge construction type nail in it. They were able to repair the tire, but recommended my brakes be replaced. I knew they needed it, so I got a brake job instead. Yesterday I hopped in the car to run errands, only to find that I had Another nail in a different tire! While all of that is bad enough, my first instinct is to ask Cody for a ride, but I’m the ride LOL! So Ubers so I could leave the car. Luckily this tire could be repaired as well, and it cost me nothing since I had added road hazard coverage. Which means, the tire 10 days ago would have cost me nothing, but I opted to go shopping for brakes lol. I start my new day time normal person hours in the morning and I am so excited. It’s been like waiting for Christmas lol.

joyfulnana, I hope things go smoothly at work tomorrow and that you find it more to your liking. I am sorry about your tires and brakes. I got a nail in the sidewall of my tire and had to replace all 4 tires. I'll know not to buy All=Wheel drive again! The kids here can just take their "heads" off their costumes and wear them to school. Does Rudy's head come off or unzip or anything to show is face? I hope he can figure something out. kellyr21, I look forward to seeing more of your scrapping. What kind of cooking classes are you taking? Linda, we will be caring for the neighbor's cats again this weekend. 3 of the 4 hide and we never see them. One is very playful and we have to work at getting out the door without him following. When the owners return from a trip she has all 3 of the downstairs cats in her bed and she can hardly roll over. I'm sure it's nice to know that your kitties love you. How was DD's Scout event? kitbop, congrats on getting the home sold. I'm sorry you had to take less than anticipated. It will be nice when all the paperwork is done, I'm sure. When will you make the trip back to get the rest of her belongings? grammadee, I love the photos of your DGS and his cards. He's very talented. We are on Fall break so Alex joined our Church card making class on Thurs. My friend who was teaching it is not comfortable with her Silhouette yet, so asked me to cut out all the pieces for 16 twist pop cards. Alex was as efficient as any of the women there. It's fun to see boys enjoy paper crafts! It took me all evening to get the paper cut for the class. We usually have 3 -4 people but had 14 this time. After the class I went home and designed my Christmas cards. I always make multiples of the same design each year. In the time between Thurs and today I have made 60 cards and have 40 more cut, just waiting to be assembled. It will be nice to have that much of the job done. I won't address or send them until Dec. I am hoping I can catch up a bit here on 2Peas this week before the end of the month. Between having my scraproom deconstructed and making Halloween and class cards, I have been pretty absent and I have really missed you all.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys. Wishing you all a great week. Enjoy your new schedule, joyfulnana. Too bad that the peaks and valleys of BC home prices did not work out in your favour, kitbop, but it must be a relief to have the sale go through, even if it means one more trip out there to wrap everything up. How are you feeling this week, gramma? Did your house sale go without a hitch? It must have been sad to see it go. I know COVID can kick a person's butt, but some of your fatigue may be due to your losses this year which that home sale represents. I hope you got a price that you felt was fair, and I am glad that you are settling in so well in your new home. So cool that Alex got to attend your class, nylene. Glad the class worked so well, but it's too bad that you didn't get any help with the pre cutting. Cutting with the Silhouette is not my idea of fun crafting time. Glad you are able to have so many special adventures with your dd's, Linda. And that you have photos to scrap when the older one heads home--it will definitely extend the fun. I have never done Pokemon at all--the only familiarity I have with any of it is the trading cards the dgk's were hoarding and exchanging, and I seem to remember some sort of floor/table game, named something like "Pogs" where discs were flipped and I thought I remembered Pokemon characters on those? You and kitbop and joyfulnana may be able to set me straight on that. I have three days at home before heading off Thursday morning for Calgary. One last batch of tomatoes to cook up and do something with before I leave. It will be an early start Thursday b/c dgd has a game at 2:00pM and I want to catch at least part of it. So no crafting for me this week, but I plan to photograph and share my cards from this past weekend.

Good luck with those tomatoes grammadee - I need to deal with some after everyone leaves - for now they are in my freezer. Today we went to Paynes Prairie - a state nature preserve - climbed up the observation tower and hiked along one of the trails. Very pretty there. On our way we stopped at a rest area on I-75 with a snake shaped elevated trail with an observation deck at the snake's head looking over the prairie and then at a small town to poke through a couple of art galleries with local artwork and crafts. grammadee - yes - Pogs sounds right - decorated cardboard discs I think. Not sure if they were Pokemon or not

The house sale was an adventure. The buyers and their agent had no sense of urgency and drug their feet over the last week or two. I was about ready to tell them to go pound sand. The 20 close turned into 30. But it's done - $ in the bank - and new house paid off. I hope your mom's house sale goes smoothly kitbop Last weekend we were supposed to put up the porch cover. It was supposed to rain but not until about 5 PM. Well - - - at about 1 PM it poured like someone had turned on the shower full blast. We'll try again this coming weekend. Then I ordered some flower boxes from Amazon. They sit on legs that put them about 18" off the ground. Perfect for this old woman to not have to crawl around on hands and knees to garden. There is a lot of little stuff to do still inside and outside, but I'm getting settled. Anyone up for a crop & chat Friday afternoon/evening? I can't do Saturday afternoon and I know several of you can't do Sunday. nylene - you were really diligent about producing those cards! All that e-cutting is so time consuming. I enjoy the design part, and enjoy the assembly part, but the actual cutting part is just tedious. I can't wait to see what you've produced! That is so awesome that Alex knew what he was doing better than the craft group! grammadee - I missed pogs, I was too old by the time they were a thing, but I do remember disney and pokemon on pogs. Have a good trip and make some great memories this weekend! I hope the weather is agreeable - didn't I hear rumours about snow in Alberta? We have a *lovely* few days upon us here in Southern Ontario: 20+ degrees I've still got a few big beefsteak tomatoes hanging on the (dead) vine, hoping they will ripen more for me. joyfulnana - hope the new hours are panning out to improve your work-life balance! Linda - you sound like you are making full of the family time and getting in some very varied activities! gramma - yay for $ in the bank/ $ not owing! We will be officially done on Thursday and hopefully it goes down smoothly. We fly out to BC next Thursday and stay until Monday to pack a moving crate to ship across the country. It will be *so* good to have that over. We're online house hunting - currently, none of the houses in our city (of 150,000 people) have all the right criteria for me to want to look at them. We have the luxury of being picky and having the time to get it right, so I'm grateful. I am in for a Friday crop! Tag me.
