Remember bottle caps? For awhile they were everywhere and then *poof* they disappeared. I never understood them in the first place, though. It was weird how popular they were.
How about fancy edged scissors? People did very bad things with their photos with those. I admit to keeping the scalloped one for the bottom of tags but I took the others to school for my students a long time ago.
Eyelets! Couldn't go to a crop without the sound of someone hammering.
Chevron paper. So much chevron paper.
What do you remember as being a "must have" scrapping product that has totally disappeared now?

Remember when zippers were all the rage? Also, all the shaped brads? I had Christmas trees, tennis shoes, even Band-Aid shaped ones.

Bottles of Prima flowers. I had to have them all. Rarely used them. All those bottles took up so much counter space. Eventually donated them.

I remember dusting my display of Prima glass bottles and thinking “why on earth did I buy these?!”. I think I eventually threw them away. Do you remember the Making Memories metal embellishments? I had to have them all! I used some but mostly donated my stash years ago.

So guilty of over-using those edged scissors. (atrb_partsz) But I kept a few pairs - still love the deckle ones. And I still have a container of eyelets and brads. I use the brads but seldom the eyelets. I never got into the zippers or bottle caps; they both seemed so bulky. Another thing that I bought (had to have ALL the colors) were those plastic slide frames. I must've had 50 or so of those and I think I used a total of, let's see, 2! Fun question artbabe.

Border punches (I still have and use mine) but especially the Drippy Goo border punch, finding one was a big deal. I do not own that one.

There was a phase where fibers were popular. Sticker sneeze and cutting pictures into shapes were trends too. Grateful I missed those but looking back, my earlier albums were mostly Cardstock, not a lot of patterned paper and the photos were matted, sometimes with a corner rounder.

Ribbon, yarns (aka fibers) and lace. I still occasionally use those.
Acrylic paints with sponge applicators. Never got into this as it was way too messy for me.
Emory boards to create a distressed look around edges.
Mini clothespins, paper clips, and colored staples. . These were popular during what I used to call the office supply trend.

I loved flair. Now, I find it too thick. I've even removed some from old layouts. I never had a problem with it rusting.
I have a whole box of cute flair I can't seem to part with.

The first thing that came to mind was fibers. Oh my, I bought so many different ones and barely used any.

I think I bought all of the things listed above - LOL! I also had a bunch of twine and twisted paper/fabric rope. II still have some MM metal embellishments and Prima Flowers, although I have found alternative uses for both. The Prima small daises I used to make mini Hoco mums for scrapbook mini books for my daughters drill team! They were so cute and perfect and it was one of those moments where you are so glad you kept something for ages. I also would add (things I still have that are 15-25 years old) after dumping a ton of old stuff): Heidi Swapp Giant flowers, MM alpha rub ons, American Craft Alpha rub ons (6x12 folder like books - I still have 8 or 9 of these and use them randomly and they STILL work!), tons of brads, old Doodlebug buttons and flowers from the 2000s.
The big bulky stuff I definitely tossed and often regretted using because it often ended up ruining the page across from it despite the paper protector.

Even had a co-worker pick them up for me once. Haha, this reminds me that when these first came out I called the only store in Canada that could get them in - they were several provinces away from me - and the lady on the phone told me that to order in a complete alphabet (Upper, Lower, and Numbers) would be $600 so maybe I wanted to rethink placing a special order for them. Once I got my breath back and I politely agreed. I had no idea how expensive they were with the exchange and everything.

Marveling at how much makes its way back! Just look at Ali Edwards' work over the last year or two -- fiber, brads, eyelets. And I'm seeing rub-ons everywhere, too, which I haven't used since the early 2000s. I do still use one pair of deco scissors on the regular: the one that looks like a torn edge. I use it to make strips of patterned paper look like washi.

I would still love to have those prima flower bottles. I loved the originals and am sad that I have used most of mine! I also still love border punches (though for only occasional use I guess) and would use my eyelets on tags, etc., but my cropadile has rusted, never to be restored. It was crushing them before this, anyway, no matter the setting. So now I am stuck with them and only my old eyelet hammer. LOL
I even am still planning on using bottlecaps--because we got butter beer when we were in Salem at a Harry Potter store, and we saved those and I plan on trying to flatten them! LOL

I can tell you it is ALL at out our craft second hand store. It is like going down memory lane going through the bins at that store. vexedangel I used to flatten bottle caps in the old red Sizzix. They are really easy to flatten through.

Acrylic paints with sponge applicators. Never got into this as it was way too messy for me. This was my thought. I found several sets of foam stamps as I was organizing. I kept them all because I still like them, but I had to toss the Making Memories paint sets a long time ago.

So.many.flowers. But I still have them and love them.
Ribbon and lots of it.
Rub ons. I regret using them because some of the old ones have peeled.
I am finally pulling out my scrapbook supplies after 14 years of being sick of organizing and not using them. I have a feeling a lot of my layouts will have these old supplies that I couldn’t bear using because I didn’t want to waste them…it’s time!!

Cork, corrugated paper/cardboard, crimped heavy papers, paper dolls, and tear bears are some of the ones that came to my mind.

I still have quite a bit of the Making Memories metal embellishments and frames. I want to try to find a way to incorporate them into some layouts (maybe) LOL...
I also still have lots of buttons, fibers, ribbon, eyelets, brads and alpha rub-ons.
I did just donate some foam stamps as I never really used them with paint. I had alphas and shapes.
I also just donated a ton of decorative paper straws - what were we doing with these? I don't think I ever used them but I had several packages from Queen & Company.

Such good scrappy memories!
Anyone remember the company Magic Scraps and their magic mesh? It was basically dry wall mesh in lots of colors. Twizzles is another product that comes to mind. They were tightly rolled paper thread that you used as is or loosened up to reveal the paper threads and use the pieces as texture. Magic Scraps was one of my favorite embellishment companies back in the day.
Buttons were another big item. Autumn Leaves and Basic Grey had the most beautiful button collections back in the day. Some people bought shaped buttons (can't remember the company) and cut off the shanks to use. There were shaped buttons for any theme it seemed.

So many things!
I still use eyelets, mostly for reinforcing holes on tags, etc. I have some shaped ones in the bowels of my stash - not sure I'll ever use those, though.
Paperkins! I had a huge stack of them, then I let my DD use them... I think I got rid of the rest...?
What were those clear plastic embellishments called that all ended up turning yellow? I came across some of those in my stash just the other day. Terrible! We used to put them over words, or use small ones as water droplets.

Couldn't go to a crop without the sound of someone hammering. I had a ready set tool for making holes and setting eyelets. My yorkie disliked it so much he would start barking as soon as he heard me barely touching any of the tips to get them out of the case. I purchased the Cropodile as soon as it came out so I could go back to using eyelets again.

Anyone remember the company Magic Scraps and their magic mesh? It was basically dry wall mesh in lots of colors. Ahhhh... Magic Mesh... That is one product that is actually GONE from my scraproom. I hoarded it, but loved it so much I ended up using every little scrap. Many of the other products listed I either never got on that train (bottle caps and flair) or still have and occasionally use (brads, eyelets, ribbon, fibres, corrugated cs, naked cb, butcher twine, border punches) I also have some WRMK gadgets that I absolutely NEEDED, and then have barely used. At least a couple are still in their original packaging. I am also noticing that wood veneer pieces are becoming an endangered species. Don't worry, little guys: my shelf is a safe refuge...
