The new pricing is still not equitable, especially for digital content that has no shipping or customs to work into the numbers. It’s being offered at $50 CAD/$45 USD. The current exchange rate for Americans to Canadian dollars on their $50 is $36.89. Let’s say $37 to make it easy. I understand there are probably some conversion fees on SCT’s end, but I have a hard time believing it’s $8 USD per transaction. When I’ve used my credit card on Vicki’s site in the past, the conversion exchange fee charge I paid using my CC was minimal.

I signed up too. I've been making so many cards I've neglected my scrapbooking. Hoping this will get me back into it.

Oh, for Pete's sake, sometimes we come here to vent our frustrations a little bit. pennyscraps did reach out (most graciously, I might add), and heard crickets for 2 days. We don't need to be hand-slapped by companies who can't take some criticism and questioning of policies. If you want to explain, then explain, but please stop the hand-slapping and excuses. I actually never got a response. I guess the assumption was made that my email was addressed here.

The nice thing about this reduction - thanks for telling me, as I stopped checking - is that with an alumni discount it takes it down to what the USD rate should be.

The nice thing about this reduction - thanks for telling me, as I stopped checking - is that with an alumni discount it takes it down to what the USD rate should be. except it sucks knowing the alumni discount should be AFTER a fair conversion. The alumni discount should make it even cheaper (20%?) as it’s a perk. I’m not taking any more of their digital classes right now because of this. I’ve unfortunately signed up for quite a few paying the inflated prices before they were changed, out of my own ignorance. It makes me angry. I don’t feel like this is fair and feels like price gouging. I’m actually surprised how many are ok with it. It’s not equitable. Are other currencies getting charged the CAD or the USD pricing? More issues…

Her January sketch has been posted. One sketch, some notes on how to use and adapt sketches, a few examples, and about a hundred ways to adapt this first sketch (not quite that many, but it's a lot). Also a link to the private fb group where there will be additional inspiration.

Just saw the first post. Do you ever have meetups with other scrappers? I think it might be fun to meet and try some of the sketches (there were so many) with others. I work mornings, but am around afternoons if this ever works for you.

I've been painting and purging, so I am ready to get back in and start scrapping.

Anyone take on the January sketch, yet? Would love to see what you come up with! I started with her one page sketch and stretched it over two pages. Used ribbons and diecuts for my lines. And I liked how her title anchored her photos, so I extended a layered strip across both pages. Laughting all the Way! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

It's been a while since anyone posted on this one. How are ya'll doing? I'm just getting in under the wire, but I'm impressed I actually did it! I'm not known for finishing things that I start!

Wow--you are FAST with the February page, justjac. Love all the plaid banners--perfect for your photos! And great job fitting that January sketch into your journal page. Love the retro look. That is a wonderful take on the January sketch, lindamh. Those hanging ornaments are perfect for the larger elements, and I love how that ornament pp perfectly reflects the flow.

How are you all doing with the class so far? I've done my January and February layouts and I love the sketch for March. I'll have to give some thought about what pictures I want to use. I'd like to do a two page layout with it. Chime in with your progress whether you post your layouts here or not.

I'm glad I signed up for this class. I posted the January sketch above. I almost didn't do the February sketch because it was way too busy for me, but when I signed up for this I promised myself I was going to see this thing through and not give up on it. (I'm really good at starting and not finishing things!) So I did the February one too. It was easier to do than I thought it would be - I just took it one step at a time and spaced it out over several days so I didn't get frustrated. I liked my final product, but not enough that I'll be using that sketch again!
Now the March sketches, I'm loving!! Much more my speed. I may make a few versions of this month.

I'm on track. I'm enjoying the challenge. Last month, I did 3 layouts (all different). I post to the class albums. I didn't renew my taptalk so posting pictures here is a pain. Or maybe it's me!

I've done a layout with January! The only thing I don't like is that my strips aren't straight. They are 49th and market elements (the black lace borders) and they are made to be "wobbly", not straight. I was determined to use them. But I don't like them. I don't mind the pink one as much even tho it is also not straight. I should probably replace them with simple strips of black cardstock. What say the peas?? layout barefoot photobomb by kirstendrew, on Flickr I am "behind" because I wasn't scrapping 12x12 layouts in the past couple of months, but now hopefully I'll put the coming sketches to good use.

kitbop they do look wobbly to me but they are so pretty and delicate that I would probably leave them. Here is my March page. I stuck really close to the sketch.

I think the strips are perfect on your layout and you should not change them. I am also wishing they are straight though. I pulled out the same ones yesterday to use on a layout but couldn't because I needed something straight. I will be looking to your layout for inspiration when I come to use mine. So far I have only done the January class layout. I really like February's sketch and am excited to tackle that one. I am less sure about March, but justjac has inspired me with her layout. I am thinking the second page might be an opportunity to use some PL life cards if I don't have enough photos. I will have to play around with that one more.

justjac- love your colours and pattern choices that read as textures more than "busy" pattern. Beautiful!

Great interpretations of the sketches, ladies! kitbop, those strips look just fine with those patterns. justjac, this is the perfect way to use this two page sketch with the cast group pic on one page and the action shots on the other! I love how the outer strips look almost like stage curtains in this context.
