Welcome to December tribe-mates! Our fearless leader will be discharged from the hospital today. I’ll let scrapmaven explain what was going on with her when she posts. jeremysgirl , I’ll be thinking of you today and your sweet girl, Amelia. Big hugs. We slept in until 7:15 this morning ~ it's hard to get up when it's all snuggly warm under the comforter! Dinner will be salmon burgers. What's on your menu? TGIF and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Another snow day here, so I have been inside for most of the day. I went out for a walk, but that’s all. DH took the parcel for the granddaughters with him and has dropped it off at the DHL depot for me, so I didn’t even have to go out for that. Dinner tonight is tuna sweet corn casserole with pasta. jeremysgirl - big hugs today. scrapmaven - I hope you are all sorted now and make sure to rest up today.

Happy December! I woke up with no voice and a sore throat. Ugh...I don't have time for this. Hugs jeremysgirl. Happy to here you are going home today scrapmaven. It has been reining since yesterday evening and is supposed to continue all day. Temperature isn't too bad though. Tonight we take all the kids and grandkids to see Santa. It is called Sullivan's Express. We take a train through Santa's workshop then arrive to see him. The grands love it. We will stop somewhere after that to grab a bite.

It’s a wet, sloppy day here and this weather is expected for the next three days. I don’t mind this weather - it’s a great time to get things done in the house. Thinking of you today jeremysgirl. DH and I are going out for supper tonight. His buddy bought him a gift card to a local restaurant to say thank you for the help he provided when he had his ATV accident. And I get to benefit from the gift card as well!

Amelia is gone. It was the right decision. She had a big seizure just as we were trying to get ready to go. We picked up and rushed her in and they put her sleep. She was a good dog. A pitbull, mind you. When Jeremy said he wanted to bring home a pitbull I was like, are you crazy? We have a 2 year old. No way. But he kept visiting her 3 or 4 times a week at the humane society for two months. And I agreed to go meet her. Amelia loved all people and all other animals. She was calm and gentle. Even when we had just a little 2 pound Finn puppy. She was good with everyone. I've had a lot of dogs in my life, but it's not a stretch to say she was the best. I'm not sure what is for dinner. Maybe rechauffe soup. She really was Jeremy's girl, not me, and he is pretty wrecked.

Hugs to you both jeremysgirl. Thank you for sharing Amelia's story with us. I know from experience that some times men only cry when they have to put down a beloved pet.

scrapmaven ...I hope you are MUCH better, and going home today !!! (( hugs )) And anyone else not feeling well physically or emotionally-- (( hugs )) to you, too! cadoodlebug ...I liked what you said yesterday about being a hugger I am, too. I'm just having a very rough time this week. I have several different painful issues going on, it is just exhausting! I had realllllly high hopes with re-starting physical therapy, and I've been doing more exercises at home, but damn if something else doesn't pop up. Yesterday was so bad, DH was quite worried. I know it's hard for him to see me this way, just as it'd hurt for me to see him in so much pain. The other thing that has been gnawing at me (which I TRY to ignore!) is that being in all this pain the last few years has really aged me. Yipppeee.... I have a mammogram today ! But the nice thing is, after that, I'll get back in the pool for physical therapy. I'm going to ask the PT what other things they suggest for all the pain. I. am. desperate.

jeremysgirl thinking of you. Such a hard decision. destined2bmom. Not much going on here. Helping my mom get ready for her three months trip to Florida. I have three trips planned to visit. Can’t wait. Last year I was in the middle of some anxiety and didn’t really enjoy my time there. So now I really can’t wait

oh jeremysgirl, I am so very sorry. Your story made me cry. Much love to you and to Jeremy. scrapmaven and scrappintoee, I hope you both start feeling better right away. DD is here, working with her new girl puppies. They were rescues who were found running loose together. They look like twins, so we’re 99% sure they’re sisters, but she’ll have their DNA tested eventually so we’ll know for sure. Soooo cute!! They’re a little scared of me, but are willing to take treats from my hand when circumstances dictate. Not sure about dinner tonight. We might go to a new Korean BBQ place with DS’s family, but there’s also lots of rechauffe here. DD and the girlies are leaving tomorrow.

scrapmaven and jeremysgirl sending big hugs. Dinner here is baked macaroni and cheese and broccoli. Ds is talking about cooking a couple of Italian sausages but I’m fine without meat. Dd and her boyfriend went away for the weekend to celebrate his birthday so ds and I are watching Ally. She’ll be happy to have the mac and cheese for dinner!

taylortroop...I was so happy to see Walker's cute birthday pic the other day! Nov. 29th was Meaty's birthday, so DH and I watched lots of videos. lucyg ...aww, how paw-some for your dd to drive all that way to give them better lives! A few days ago, cadoodlebug and I were discussing an author whose books we love (and wow---doodlebug that you've read ALL of the Andy Carpenter books! ) Lucy, your daughter would probably LOVE this book! I loved it so much, I might read it again.

Thank you cadoodlebug for doing an outstanding job with the thread. jeremysgirl my heart is with you today. Out pets are a huge part of our family. My hands are reaching out for a big hug. scrappintoee, I'm sorry that you're in so much pain Thank you for your thoughts, tribe. I will probably go home today, but I'm waiting for my surgeon to assess me. After many years my team has concluded that my body is allergic to tubes. So, it has been pulled for good and now I am back to square one. I'm shaking my head and back on the roller coaster called my health. teddyw, wishing you an easy procedure and recovery. I'm thinking of you.

Big hugs to you jeremysgirl and Jeremy. I am crying over here for you. I am dreading the day when I have to say goodbye to my pups. I have had 4 cats that passed over the rainbow bridge and each one is so hard! Glad to hear scrapmaven is ALMOST out! Just read your update and thinking of you. Not sure for dinner. I think I will be freezing what is left of the veggie soup to have later on this winter.

Thank you cadoodlebug for keeping us going. (((Hugs))) and prayers scrapmaven - that sounds very difficult - I hope there are good solutions for you. Oh jeremysgirl - I'm so very sorry about Amelia. Be kind to yourself and Jeremy - it's hard. (((Hugs))) for all who need or want them Dinner here is hot german potato salad with kielbasa mixed in. It's a childhood favourite of mine that DH also likes but DD17 doesn't - she might opt for leftovers.

cadoodlebug Thank you for starting the thread. I am another who likes to stay under the comforter. Your meme is adorable. jeremysgirl Hugs to you. Such a beautiful story about Amelia. I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Amelia. Please accept my deepest sympathies. What a beautiful blanket that she claimed. sueg It’s great that your DH took the package for you. Your dinner sounds good. stormsts I hope you feel better by tonight. Have a wonderful time tonight with your family. taylortroop Enjoy your dinner out. scrappintoee Hugs to you. I am so sorry that you have been in so much pain. I hope that your mammogram is easy. christine58 I remember what you were going through last year. I am so happy that you are looking forward to going this year. lucyg I am glad that your DD has taken both of them. They might be sad to be apart. Korean food sounds delicious. scrapmaven I am so happy to see you post. But I am very sorry that your tube has been permanently removed. I hope that you can rest and your surgeon comes up with a great plan that you are happy with for your nourishment. I have had quite a bit of back pain lately. When I went to the pain doctor he put me on prednisone. I am starting it today. He said that it messes with your blood sugar. So this morning, I took my blood sugar and it was 98 mg. So it’s normal. I will take it again in a couple of days. Today I am making calls, watching YouTube videos, and trying to figure out what’s for dinner. I suggested going out and DH doesn’t want to deal with hearing about my back. You would think after 32 years; he would love to hear about it. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

destined2bmom Last winter was awful. I was sick all the time with breathing issues. Then the anxiety hit. Lexapro has been a godsend although I’ve put on some weight, which I really didn’t want to do after I lost a bunch. Going to talk to my doctor in two weeks when I have my physical. Maybe there’s something out there that would help with anxiety and not cause weight gain.

Today DS and I are both working from home while he's visiting. I wound up with a flat tire the other day so had to drop my car off this morning and get it fixed. Turns out I needed another front tire and an alignment so I'm not sure how expensive that is going to be. Tonight, we're taking my mom and dad to the Olive Garden for soup, salad and breadsticks. My dad is turning 92 on Monday which is why DS came into town for the weekend. I know that Olive Garden isn't all that great but it's my dad's favorite restaurant so he gets to dictate what he wants on his birthday weekend! jeremysgirl I'm so sorry you had to make a tough decision but the right one to make. Hugs to everyone!

A few days ago, cadoodlebug and I were discussing an author whose books we love (and wow---doodlebug that you've read ALL of the Andy Carpenter books! ) I emailed him after reading his first Andy Carpenter book and he's been sending me emails about upcoming books for years. I told him if my husband and I knew about the trip across country to relocate with all the dogs, we would have volunteered to go along. It's a wonderful read.
