I've definitely been slowly creeping up, so need some more accountability.
I don't know whether to just try tracking again for free with mfp, pay for premium mfp, or pay for Noom or something else, but o refused to go back over 200 and I am close.

The stress of the past two weeks undid the little progress I had made. Stress eating, not sleeping, elevated blood pressure. Thought for sure I was going to wind up in the ER. Finally sleeping and BP is back to normal.
My goal this month is to enjoy the holidays but make wiser choices. Like eating a few or low fat cookies instead of a whole package of high fat and sugar ones on one sitting. We’re hosting Christmas this year so I’m planning to make some healthier menu items. My busted toe is finally healing so I hope to start walking at the rec center this week if time permits. I feel like I still may be putting out dumpster fires for awhile longer.

I tried the free Noom trial a few years ago and hated it. Never signed up for the paid version. Tracking all of my food doesn't work with my ADHD, especially since so much of my food is homemade.
My goal for the month is to not gain weight! 🤣
I travel to Pensacola for work in a week and a half, and I usually gain a couple pounds on those trips. As soon as I get back home, I turn around and leave to go to Mayo with my mom, which means 4 days on the road and several days in Rochester. After that, it's Christmas.
So, my goal is simple, not gain weight. Any loss will be a bonus.
(LOL, as I type this, I am at the grocery store to pick up this month's Wegovy refill.)

I have not been doing great. I hurt my back the day before Thanksgiving and am just getting by. It was end of the month at work which is always stressful, the house is a mess because of my back and I got decorations out but haven't been able to put the bins away, etc. I have also had some kind of chest thing going on where I have a horrible tickle in my throat, especially when laying down. So, between that and my back I haven't been sleeping well. I have had some cysts/skin infections and had an online visit with a doctor and he said that stress can be a trigger for those but also brought up weight loss. He suggested trying Metformin due to my history with GD and insulin resistance. I have been nervous to start because of the potential GI side effects but will start tomorrow. If anyone has experience with this let me know!
I also follow someone on IG who just wrote an e-book on how to handle perimenopause/menopause and she has a free four week program for those who buy the book. It was only $17 so I am going to give that a try. I would like to lose 5lbs before the holidays.

I feel like I have been sick since Halloween. I had a bad cold and it took FOREVER to get over. I am still congested and blowing my nose every day, and just tired. Last night my throat started to feel bad again. Ive been walking with my friend - the fresh air helps a lot - but I am just not doing great with eating, I am just tired and don't care. COVID is negative.

I just had a partial Mastectomy yesterday, so I have been off my semiglutide for 2 weeks. I have 6 more pounds to go to hit -50. I will start taking it again and hopefully drop those 6 pounds this month.

I never tried it in the evening, tho I heard that is best if you have any side effects.

I stop biking soon, so getting enough exercise is always a panic for me.
I joined the YMCA on route to work. It is so lovely- I guess I never thought about it before, but it was such a great sense of community and everyone was so helpful and kind. I loved all the kids from the childcare intermingling here and there.
They have a 6 AM spin class that I have been doing. Led by Alfred, who could be 40 or 80, no idea, he wears a Terry cloth headband and neon cycle shorts and listens to hyped up 80 remixes. It's 100% my jam and spins me right round, baby, right round.
The have possibly the best steam room I have ever been in, and I have about 25 minutes to hot tub, steam and cold shower before I have to leave for work, so I hope if nothing else THAT keeps me motivated to go.
I got in the hot tub and there were several older Vietnamese women chatting. As soon as I got in, they instantaneously all switched to English and included me in the conversation. It was so inclusive and kind, and really touched me. I am super happy that I joined.

It was only $17 so I am going to give that a try. I would like to lose 5lbs before the holidays. Make sure you’ll be home the whole day when you start it. My side effects were literally explosive. It was so bad when I first started it I want to say I lost 70 pounds in a few months. Not the way you want to do that. Some people get used to it over time, I never did. The time release version was better for me. I will say, if a medication can have GI side effects, I almost always get them. Good luck! Wanted to give some hope to those the medication stopped working for, like me. It’s expected around the 1.5 year mark and I don’t know if y’all remember but the Ozempic stopped working much sooner than that for me. I wasn’t able to switch to Wegovy (I’m hoping since it works with 2 different hormones it will help), have to see an endocrinologist for that, so I’ve stayed on highest dose of Ozempic for my blood sugar. It has slowly started working a bit for me again. I do still think about food, but it’s not quite as frequent as it usually is. I’m also starting to get full faster and stay full longer again. As with the thinking aspect, it’s not nearly as good as it had gotten to, but it’s definitely better than without Ozempic. I suspect my body stopped over producing the other hunger hormone in response to the Ozempic, but need to verify that with a doctor. So my weight has slowly started dropping again. I miss the fast loss, but I’ll still take it! Otherwise I’m having some bad pain in my shoulder, so my activity levels have absolutely tanked, that’s a bit depressing. But I’m going to force a positive attitude on myself and set my goal for this month as a 5 lb loss, and up my daily steps by 33%. I do cycles of activity, and that goal I’ll set at 5 a day. All of that is reasonable with my shoulder issues as long as I get in early next week to the doctor. It made me miss Thanksgiving, I’m not giving it Christmas!

It was a partial mastectomy with reduction and lift on both breasts. Now I wait for pathology results. I will certainly focus on my healing as the main part of this journey! I am thankful that before this I’ve dropped so much weight and had been exercising as I think recovery would be even harder than normal if not. I was able to shower today and take a nice slow 1/2 mile walk. Now the real waiting begins!

I have happy news today. Went for my six-month visit with my PCP, and while my weight was up a bit, my A1C was down to 6.6 from 6.9. I had two kidney surgeries in June that threw off my eating and exercise habits and I've never gotten back on track, so I'm relieved that there was improvement nonetheless. Now to tackle the holiday temptations!

I am fat and I eat cookies constantly. My only hope is to survive the holidays and then get started again in January. I went from 117-144 I am not kidding. Stress has done this to me. I will stop all the bad eating in January. I am not sure what I will do about exercise.

I’m holding steady with the IF and have been pretty consistent for a year. It’s the only method that works for me because I don’t crave food the way I used to. Also, no sandwiches or big carbs - that also makes me hungry or craving sugar an hour later. This is the longest I’ve gone with no weight swings and I’m starting year two hoping to keep it going.

This morning I reached my “goal” on my weight loss program. This certainly isn’t my final goal but they encourage smaller goals along the way. This was my third and I have lost 38 pounds since July. I’m not sure if I want to set a new goal or just hope to maintain over the holiday.

I'm down 2.6 pounds since December 1st. Finding out my job is ending has supressed my appetite more than Wegovy.
My insurance runs through the end of January. Debating if I want to find out if my insurance covers Zepbound (Mounjaro for weight loss only), and get it filled at least twice before the insurance ends. I have 3 Wegovy pens left in my current refill.

I’ve been on Metformin for 10 years and I have GI issues sometimes, and not at all other times. Even the times I have issues, they are not awful. Hope it works for you. I’ve been on the straight and narrow with my eating, which means tracking in MFP, since the end of June, and getting regular exercise since February, so I’m feeling better than I have in a couple of years, though I am still obese. I just have to keep on keeping on.

Thanks @zee, that sounds familiar just got mixed up. Either way my current doctor wasn’t comfortable making the switch and wanted me to see endocrinologist. But I just went to the family & friends candy making day and only tasted our candy because we had never made it before and took a bite of one other, wasn’t even tempted with the rest so that was nice!
That’s awesome you’ve reached your goals, congratulations!

I have 3 Wegovy pens left in my current refill. Ugh, I'm sorry. I hope it all works out for you. Thanks. It's been really upsetting and disappointing. I feel slightly better knowing that a bunch of my coworkers are upset about how this was handled, and a few have mentioned questioning their own continued employment with our organization. I have talked to recruiters within our larger company (my team has 60 people in a company with 6,000+ global employees), but hiring has slowed down because of the end of the year. They may have corporate roles available in mid January, but it means I need to look outside of our company in earnest as well. All in all, really appetite suppressing stuff. I head to Pensacola for a work trip on Tuesday. I was given the opportunity to skip it if it would be "too hard," but I'm going. One, I used to live in Pensacola, and I'd love to see some friends on the company dime. Two, I'd love to say goodbye to a few colleagues in person. Three, I want the people who made the decision to eliminate my position (along with two others) to look me in the eye. I want them to be uncomfortable. I know they probably won't be, but I want to remind them of the human cost of their actions. I refuse to be afraid of hard things. I am a little concerned about gaining some weight while on this trip, because one of my coworkers is in charge of the food, and she keeps us well fed. It doesn't help that there is some of my favorite candy on each table. I am going to see if one of my colleagues will take an updated headshot for me. I've lost 60ish pounds (at least) since my last one was taken last September, and I'd like to post a new one on my LinkedIn before I make the "hey, I've been laid off and I need some help finding a new job" post. From what I've read, you gain the most traction with the initial post, so I'd like to reduce as much anti-fat bias that may be out there. On an NSV note, the standard size bath towel now wraps around me. It may not have extra space, but it feels good. I think I mentioned on last month's thread that when I went to the doctor, they used the regular size blood pressure cuff and not the extended sized one. My blood pressure has also improved!

mich5481 I am sorry about your job. I think it sounds like you have a good plan as far as taking pics and reaching out to let people know that you are looking for a job. Also, that's great about the weight loss and NSV! I am about to go crazy I think. I am still in a lot of pain from my back/pelvis/sciatica/whatever it is. I am on the verge of tears several times a day due to the pain and also frustration that I can't get things done. It hurts no matter what I do, even sitting or laying down, but is worse when I walk or do too much. I went to the chiropractor twice last week and PT twice as well, with no improvement. I go to PT again tomorrow but am not hopeful. This PT seems to think I just need to strengthen my back and is not listening when I say I am in a lot of pain. When I went on Thursday they had me scheduled with a trainer who was going to have me do a workout! I told her I could barely walk, I wasn't getting on a bike. They eventually had me do some stretches and ultrasound. We will see what they say tomorrow. The house is a mess, I don't have the energy to meal prep or do much in the kitchen and clearly can't workout or walk the dog. The good news is that I started metformin earlier this week and haven't had any side effects.
