Wow, the Lysol Boy one - I'd never heard that one, but I can relate. I posted once about trying to get my DD to clean her room - she was maybe 4 or 5 at the time. Yes, it was age appropriate tasks and guidance was provided, blah blah blah, she was simply flat out not doing it. So I was "grounding" her, which would have meant something like no TV till she finished up doing it. I had so many people jump down my throat about my "grounding" someone her age. I don't always explain myself well in writing to begin with, and the more I tried to explain, the worse it got.
This was the reason I think I posted all of 3x on the old board, even though I was a lurker for years.

Sidney told the peas she was dying of cancer I think. And she had a boyfriend in the military. They were both very attractive but the pictures posted were random stolen photos. There was no Sidney or boyfriend. That one ended up being a LSS owner.
Altoona police was Sassafras.
Wasn’t Lysol Boy the child of a popular pea? Maybe related by marriage to another pea. Maybe MaryMary? And then the pea outed herself about something else and she wasn’t as nice as previously thought. Is she the one who used to randomly post recipes on threads?

My memory is a bit different, but I can't swear to its accuracy.
I don't remember the situation that prompted it, but I thought that someone got huffy and threatened to call the Altoona police department on a pea or "The Peas". Calling the Altoona police then became a threat when someone was being ridiculous.

Yakiscrappy was also Cherry Eye. Not sure of the spelling. She'd post random recipes and totally off topic things on threads. I don't think she was unkind. It was a harmless alter but I remember that it seemed to trigger people who had relatives with dementia.

I can't remember most of these, I think they happened before I joined or just after and I couldn't stay caught up on the happenings.

There is a suburb in Melbourne called Altona, and when the Altoona police thing happened on the old board, I initially thought there must be a town or suburb in the US called Altona, and someone typed it wrong (like Thrusday). Then every time I drove anywhere and saw a sign for Altona, I would have a little chuckle. Then this morning on Facebook, VicPol posted a story about a mother and son who are both Snr Constables, and went out on a shift together before he takes a promotion to detective. Have a look at the name of the police station in the background.   |

Of course we were also a bit creeped out when we found out that they brought a snake to work and had it behind the counter in a cooler. Her parents were lovely people I can't imagine how hard this was on them, Their daughter didn't really seem to be in trouble until she married her husband. |

Who was the Pea that was so devastated by the circumstances of her mother’s death, she couldn’t be reasoned with. It was weeks of the doctor’s were or had “thirsted her to death.” And, the horror of the nurses being able to read the signs of impending death? As if nurses could never have such knowledge.
My aunt is a nurse and she helped the family through our mom/grandmother’s dying process. She shared the signs they were looking for. It was oddly fascinating. I never seen her knowledge as ghoulish or unbelievable, only years of experience.
