One theory
More than five years ago, our colleague @tom_Winter reported a detail with real significance: When Cohen & Pecker met in 2015 to plot how the Enquirer could help elect Trump, Trump was there too. If Pecker is indeed the first witness, expect this meeting to loom large.

I've also heard that since Cohen is a problematic witness (e.g. perjured himself before deciding to testify against Trump) Pecker can corroborate Cohen's testimony.

Lawrence O'Donnell has been exceptional since the trial started. He had Mary Trump on last night. He said that when TFG's attorney told the jury that TFG was just a man, like himself, a husband, a father, it reminded Lawrence that nobody in TFG's family was showing up for this. Mary said it was because their family relationships are all transactional, and the family had nothing to be gained by being there. To which Lawrence pointed out that even Jeffrey Dahmer's parents came.  |
