Daily declutter task from My Simpler Life Declutter Calendar: Empty your fridge and clean it. We did this completely a couple of weeks ago, and wipe down occasionally so we are good here. But, we have a couple of pieces that need to be replaced so today I will check and see if they are available. Thank you mich5481 , will go read now. I was up until 3 IIRC, but thatās nothing new for me unfortunately. I hope you ended up getting plenty of sleep!

Fingers crossed, someone might be coming to buy the dollhouse this afternoon! š¤ That would make me happy to finally get it out of the house and DD happy to put another hundred bucks in her bank account. š Update: Itās GONE! Yeah!

Legacy Girl I am glad it went so well! About what percentage would you guess you got rid of? I think you made a good decision getting rid of the books, because I bet that led to you getting rid of more other items by not second guessing yourself, ya know? And you can always check out those books or buy used. How does it feel? How did they work? Just come in and start helping you go through items, or did they talk to you about your goals? Did they say āwe need to get rid of (this much)?ā I am curious as to the procedures, I like helping my friends and family and am always looking for feedback, what worked and what didnāt. Did they take the donations with them? I have never heard of them using 2 organizers, I think thatās a great idea so the homeowner can really see the progress in a short amount of time. Otherwise I think a lot of people would be understandably discouraged and not continue. You could always try on all the clothes and then have them help you with your room and closet. Please keep us posted as they come! Thanks, Dewryce! I have absolutely no idea what percentage we got rid of. A lot of what we moved out was DD's (ETA, she still needs to go through all these items next time she's home, and I'm confident she'll donate/pitch even more), which left us with an entire four-shelf bookcase for my crafting items, which were in other parts of the room before, so having them in one space should be very helpful. The room looks and feels so much bigger and I couldn't be happier. They just came in and I told them that consolidating the craft items was a top priority, so they started there, and they soon noticed that the bookcase would be a good home for all of those items, so they started clearing it out. We didn't really talk strategy -- maybe because it was so obvious that I needed to get rid of a lot of items. And that was AFTER I had already made the room look much better (decluttering) before they arrived. I loved having two of them working with me, and when they come back, the same two will come again. I figure it took nine man-hours to accomplish what we did, and I know I would have been discouraged for it to have taken me nine hours alone. Those four extra hands made a big difference! Not to mention the fact that it might have taken even longer than nine hours if I had belabored any of the decisions on what to keep/pitch/donate. And knowing myself, I would definitely have drawn it out. I had purchased the least-expensive package the organizer offered so I could see if I liked their style, how happy I was with their work etc., So I was responsible for taking my items to donate, which was fine. DH and I just loaded up the car as soon as they left and headed straight to Volunteers of America. That was the most stressful part for me since I didn't allow myself to go back through the bags of items we had specified for donation. I just had to trust that I had made good --- albeit FAST -- decisions and that there wasn't anything in the bags that I hadn't agreed to part with. So far, no regrets. I even told DD that I had mistakenly donated one of her Percy Jackson books, and she was like, "Mom, you are SO okay with that. I'm so proud of you!" Now on to the kitchen and dining room!

Thank you so much Legacy Girl for taking the time to answer all of my (many) questions, I appreciate that! So, is your craft area set up? That must/will feel great. I bet it would have taken a lot longer without the help, and you wouldnāt have gotten rid of nearly as much. They recommend body doubling, you work in tandem with someone else either at your home or via Zoom or something similar. I can see why it would help in person where they can keep you on task and encourage you to get rid of things, but apparently just having someone work along with you helps a lot, even if youāre doing it while watching motivating YouTube videos. A lot of the YouTubers I watch specifically recommend a black trash bag for the very reason youāre talking about, so you donāt see things you decided to donate and start to waiver. Iām getting down to the nitty gritty and the decisions are often harder, and I bet Iāll want to pull some things back out so weāll need to get it out of the house and dropped off ASAP. Usually once I make the decision I canāt wait to see it go so there is zero temptation. We just starting using a āTime Will Tellā bin where you take things out of circulation and wait a certain amount of time (3/6 months usually) and if you havenāt needed it in that amount of time you can let it go with more confidence. Iāve seen it recommended that you donāt even open the box at the end of that time period, but we didnāt have a donate box (cause we used them all!) so used a plastic bin and canāt do that. I think Iāll have DH switch them over to the donate box when the time comes so Iām not tempted to reclaim something I had already decided to let go of.

Since youāre working on organizing your craft space Legacy Girl I thought of you when the link to this showed up in my email today. Itās only about 20 minutes long. youtu.be/XjcbxKDDIm4?si=iwLUmxUtDdyL27mkWhile the Get Organized Summit from last year has passed, Iād be willing to bet theyāre going to do another one at some point. These things are usually free to watch for 24 hours when theyāre initially held, so itās worth subscribing to Jennifer Maker so youāll be notified when the next one comes up. She also has a lot of great ideas for projects, storage, etc. on her website.

Daily declutter task from My Simpler Life Declutter Calendar:
Return items you have borrowed to friends, family, the library.
We have a drawer we keep everything we are returning and/or giving to others that we check whenever we see them. But we do have a couple of actual returns to take care of so Iāll print everything and get those packaged today.

Daily declutter task from My Simpler Life Declutter Calendar:
Do a quick pickup of areas you have already decluttered.
What are yāall working on this weekend? Weāve got some areas I/we started but didnāt quite finish so todayās prompt is perfect! This week-end is more finishing some projects like hanging things thatās taking way longer than we expected, and thereās a shelf I want to fix.
Iām not doing fabulous so if we get those and the laundry done Iāll be happy. Iām watching a lot of motivational videos and writing down what they inspire me to do so that when Iām up for it I donāt have to think, just act. I should do more digital decluttering than I have been the past couple of days so I will do that.

Progress has slowed way down again around here. I did manage to get some amazon returns done yesterday. Today was some digital decluttering. I got over 3000 emails deleted. Hoping for some better productivity tomorrow.

Ladies, you are doing fabulously!!!
It gives me so much motivation when I read your posts.
This week the last three bags of kids books went out, and I am so, so happy. It's a figurative and literal weight off me.
This past week I also helped my youngest go through his pants drawer because "nothing fits!" Ha, kid had a growth spurt and his pants turned into capris nearly overnight, it seems. Good thing we had some next size up pants in the closet.
My next goal is an organizational one. We have numerous appointments already scheduled between now and the summer, and I need to keep track of them. I need to write out an at a glance sheet to reference.

Week 7-Guest bedrooms and other bathrooms. Use the same procedures for master bathroom and bedroom. Take note of your area and surrounding . Make lists of those items you need to replace. Donate or toss what needs to be. Be ruthless this time.

Daily declutter task from My Simpler Life Declutter Calendar: What situation are you trying to control that you can let go of? Eeesh. Thatāll make you think! Have you tried using the calendar on your phone? It can take a bit to get used to, but you always have it with you and you can set reminders for each appointment and I find that super helpful. I normally do one 2 days before in case I completely forgot about it. And one again 2 hours prior prior so I have time to shower and get there. You also have the ability to check your calendar as you make appointments, and get them in there immediately. I use the one on my iPad because I use it much more than my phone and do always have it with me, but there is supposed to be a way to sync them together. Iām actually considering one that my husband (Samsung) and I (Apple) can share. Thanks linda ! The CGP and Daily Declutter Calendars are syncing up again this week because weāll be working in bathrooms, master and other.

Thought I was done in the bathrooms and yet still was able to get a bag of rubbish out of them! Extra packaging etc mostly. Also took out the yellowing shelf liners and bought some new replacements which Iāll install today - it all looks so fresh! Also embarked on a laundry revamp - replacing heavy wooden boxes with smaller drawers for all the misc items I store there so I can see everything at a glance. The boxes served their purpose and are super sturdy but heavy to pull out and filled with so many random things I had to pull all of them out to find what I was looking for every time. Now do I keep them and try to repurpose them or send them off to a new home???

And I tried to think of ways Iād use heavy wooden boxes, there arenāt many. Maybe for some permanent storage in the garage that wouldnāt need to be moved. If there is room to line them up along a wall and just lift the lid to find what youāre looking for. Maybe gardening supplies, sports balls, painting tools, etc. If youāre in love with them you could consider putting them on wheels to make them more user friendly. But personally, Iād likely donate them. Wood is harder to keep clean so for me is not ideal for storage. And I prefer my storage off the floor.

Thanks for the food for thought peas re the wooden boxes. 1. The larger versions of the boxes are already in my pantry with wheels added by myself as pull out storage for snacks etc and they are amazing 2. The boxes donāt have lids so items get dusty which is part of the reason I replaced themā¦ Iām also an Aussie pea so containers without lids are great houses for the 3784737 poisonous spiders we have hereā¦ especially in sheds and garages! 3. Garage or shed storage was where I thought I may be able to use them, but I would be finding a reason to keep them as opposed to actually needing themā¦ this is my main issue with keeping themā¦ decisions decisions!

Daily declutter task from My Simpler Life Declutter Calendar: Clear out under the bathroom sink. I use one of these Sterilite bins under our sinks for cleaning supplies. Super easy to pull it out, a lot cheaper than the metal drawers, and you donāt have to install it. If you like those, theyāre great we have tons of them in the kitchen. We were just looking for a cheaper option for the bathrooms. I also use one for all of my hair styling products.

So energizing to walk in them now!
