I was stoked I was able to get a kit even though I only signed up for the waitlist a few days ago.

Someone shared a photo of the entire kit with me and wow!! That is a lot of dies. That said, I have something close already in almost every category but the engagement one, and at my age I don't need a whole lot of engagement cards. I hope you all will share some of your work with us. I love seeing everyone's photos.

I've been resisting a lot of little houses, partially because I don't want a whole village. I like having A house. I guess I feel the same way about many of the "icons" -- I'm not in a place where I know a ton of folks getting married, buying houses, or having babies, but I do know a few. Nice to not have to commit to a whole set in any one of those themes. My kids will both have graduations coming up in the near- or mid-term future. That does sometimes seem to portend some of those others.
And I don't think there is such a thing as too many sentiment dies, whether the word and shadow are both dies or it's a stamp/die combo.

I sat down to do the homework and I’ll will admit that the big SCT events have spoiled me. I didn’t realize I would have to dig out my own colored cardstock and matching inks, also while determining whether I want to change color palettes. I am not sure I can decide which colors I might want to use until I see the full reveal of the cards.
I might just walk away from the homework for now. I want to like the smaller events, so I am trying not to feel meh about them. Hopefully the full reveals will help.

I'm really pleased, more than I thought I'd be, with the mix of products. But, yeah, if I'm digging through my stash for my own color products, I want to see what I'm making with them.

I would like to see the homework and full booklet posted at the same time. Like others, having the homework is great, but I won't be able to start it until I know what the completed card is supposed to look like. For the big events, once you get your box, you are ready to roll. The homework and full images are included in the book in the box. I was hoping this smaller event would be coordinated time-wise, similarly.

No booklet. The directions will be PDF, but we don’t have access to them yet. I am fine not having a book, but I personally don’t want to make color choices without seeing the finished product. If the paper was supplied I would have matched my inks and completed the classwork. Adding the work of pulling paper colors, I want to use my own palette and create the cards I want to create.

I agree with you all. I got my kit today. It’s very cute. But I want to see the completed cards. I do have all the card stock colors the instructors used but I really want to see the completed cards so I know that’s the colors I want to use.

It seems as though something has gone wrong. EtA: If you sit down with the homework sheet printed and in your hand and run through the sneak peeks, you can get a reasonable sense of what's what. I might be able to use a baby card and a new home card, but probably not two of each. Not sure what to do with the second baby card, but might turn one new home card into a "welcome to the neighborhood".

I am managing to make progress on the homework with the sneaks page on my iPad and the homework and per class supply list in front of me.
It looks like CZ is going to use embossing with a stencil on her baby card, which is a technique I haven't tried. I'm thinking with a different color scheme and a different pattern section of the stencil, I might be able to make it a graduation card for my son in May.

I'm looking at it differently - these are practice cards for me. I don't really care if they match the colors the instructors have chosen. I am not going to go out and buy all the colors needed when I have a whole room full of craft supplies. In my mind, I need to use what I have first. Surely I have SOMETHING that is a close shade to what they're using. If, in the future, I'd like to make the exact same thing as shown, I'll have time to purchase what I need as it's all listed on the instructions.
I found I could use up a lot of scraps for these cards. No need to cut into full size papers in "just the right color."

Instructions are posted if you want to see what the finished cards look like!
Meghann's cards are my favorite!

I finished my homework. Yay! I swapped out colors for a few of the cards. I like the designs, but truthfully it seems like I did the hard work. The cards are so close to finished I I don’t see much point in the day of class. It seems silly to not just go ahead and put them together.
I will say, I do like the clean and simple designs.

BSnyder you should go ahead and make the cards! Then, if there's one you really like, you can make more during the live event. I really like clean and simple too. I've got the homework finished and the card bases done, but nothing else. If I have time this weekend I'm going to see what I can do. The actual event (I just realized) is the day before the Super Bowl and I have things to do for the SB party!

There are still two cards that I just can't get either into or through the homework for. Meghann's second card, the new home one, I started and started swapping colors on, but sort of stalled out on picking colors. Plus I'm not sure I need any new home cards, never mind two.
And Mindy's first card, the celebrate one, I don't get. Is that supposed to look like a present? I keep trying to figure out if different colors would help, but I think I really just don't like it.
Other than that, I think I'm prepped and ready!
EtA: The more I think about it, the surer I am that it IS supposed to look like a present. I'm thinking about finding a similarly sized rectangle die or just cutting a panel and maybe switching it to blue and the dots stencil, so it's a little less twee/girly.

I'm thinking about using the house dies for Christmas cards! I think they'd be cute with a pine tree stamped behind or along side of them. I can see many possibilities!
I'm in the process of getting everything ready for tomorrow! How's everyone else doing?

Concord & 9th did a Christmas set using that night/day circle sky die from Summer Camp and some houses and maybe a tiny sleigh on the circle? Now I can't quite remember. Anyway, I could see using this house in some sort of way like that.
