I did manage to redo the colors on the card with three houses, which I think I will keep as a new house card. I dug out the Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin stamps, so I have a "Thank you for your hospitality" for the single house card.
And I still hate that one card and haven't prepared anything for it....

I was off work today, so I was able to do all the homework. But I'm missing 4 dies, the duck and a couple pieces from the house like the square window and door. Oh well, next time I know to double check if I got everything.
The coverplate and postage dies are so pretty. Not a fan of all the little dots that come out when die cutting though.
I'm excited about tomorrow's classes.

Hope y'all have fun. I kinda have FOMO but I've got so much going on right now (nothing bad, just busy) that I don't think I'd be able to relax and do the HW and classes. Please post photos.

Cute cards! Love the baby one, were all those small dots a pain to get out of the die cut?

I haven’t ever figured out to display the comments. I guess I’m glad. I was convinced Meghann was second and Mindy last. I noticed that my trays of die cuts were in the wrong order, but when I had a white panel instead of a colored one, it didn’t occur to me to look out of order. I think my improv worked:

I'm sorry, I just could not believe some of the things they put in the chat. Mindy just told us she was using Connect glue from Gina K Designs, and not a minute later someone is asking where she got the glue and what brand was it. And then, someone asked if the tip on that glue was smaller than the one on the Bearly Arts glue... What difference does it make??! We're here to learn how to make these cards, not to compare different sizes of glue tips. I think Mindy got flustered a few times by the questions, and answering them takes so much of her time. I felt bad for her - she's a great teacher and her cards were beautiful. Shakti , I like how you changed them up! I'll post mine later.

I rearranged the thanks one because I had an oopsie to hide and the onesies ‘cause DH’s cousin just had a boy.
i am trying to read through Meghann’s directions to figure out if I still have enough in the tank to craft along…and they’re not making sense. Which, sadly, I think is my answer….

They should insist that the instructor have someone to moderate the chat for them so the instructor can focus on the class.

She's NOT stopping to read all the messages, which is great. Between cards she'll answer some questions. I'm just crabby. I messed up the second card of Meghann's and had to put it aside. LOL.

Well. That was a fun event. It's over now, and Catherine just told us about the next event - Jolly Holidays on July 27th. Same as today - one day, three/four classes, dies/stamps/cardstock included for $65.
She also said something about Altenew joining the September event, but I didn't catch everything that was said. Sixteen classes over four days. No mention of the price. Registration opens for alumni March 5th.

She said something about Altenew joining something...it wasn't clear to me it was the September event.
I did like the pace of today, so I'm tempted by the July event. Not thrilled with Carissa Wiley being one of the teachers though.

This was a fun event! I managed 6 cards. My ink blending definitely needs more practice and I had to improvise on a few thing but overall I'm happy how they turned out.

marie , I wish they had provided directions for Jennifer McGuire's cards. I really like the one with the candles. I guess I have to watch it again and write down the dimensions this time so I can make it.

I messed up the second card of Meghann's and had to put it aside. LOL. I totally agree about needing moderators for the class chats. Mindy just talked way too much, we could have easily done all 3 of her cards if she didn't answer so many questions that weren't relevant to the class. So many people have decided it's a party chat rather than a class chat. Maybe if there was a way to chat more between classes or something, then people would get their fill - maybe it's time to bring back the half hour on Facebook after the class is over. It's turned into a social event for a lot of people, especially with the emphasis on "if you don't do any of the classes, that's great!". Obviously life gets busy and I'm not always able (or choose not to) to do the class live, too, but there definitely seems to be more encouragement to first just watch the live classes now instead of actually doing them. Some of the questions are just so out of place and a mod is needed to control the crowd at this point, I think. I did all of Cathy's and Mindy's cards and I'm so pleased with them. They're definitely ones that I'll make over and over again as I use them up. Today I'll do Meghann and Jennifer's classes. It makes for a fun but more relaxed weekend this way.

Meghan Andrews posted a picture of her cards. I really love the clean simple style. I don’t have any use for the theme but they really are great cards. http://instagram.com/p/C3L5nUVuDqq

All the random questions during the class drive me nuts. I'm here for the class, please save your non-related class questions for another time. I get grumpy too. It's completely understandable. The joy for me is in doing it live with everyone if I can.

So, how are folks thinking about the items in the kit as far as storage going forward? I might ( ) be overthinking it, but it seems like at least three sets of things to me: The little house seems like its own thing. The stamps set, along with the floral stencil, and the dies for the sentiment stamps (3 shadows, strip, notch). The "icons" -- dies and one stencil. The coverplate die is also its own thing. I guess I'd store the postage dies together. The point at which it occurs to me I might be overthinking it is when I try to figure out where the third stencil goes. So maybe toss the whole lot into a large storage sleeve and be done with it after all?

The joy for me is in doing it live with everyone if I can. Agreed. I also agree with pinklady assessment that they should have someone in there answering questions as they come up. However, a lot depends on the teacher. If the teacher says "I'll answer questions between cards" or something like that, others can step in and answer them if they feel so. Meghann did perfect - she kept teaching and only occasionally looked at the chat. Shakti, I'm going to keep everything together in the pouch we got with the kit. My reasoning is, that I can remember what event did which cards. Rarely do I go looking for another stamp/stencil/die to mix and match with something else. My TV died on me yesterday, so I've got to go get a new one and get it set up before 6:30 tonight!
