My #@%! Senator, JD Vance, is a dangerous crackpot. Turns out that he wants to upend treaties and make every nation responsible for its own security. It sounds good, unless you remember the history of the 20th century. Or really, the history of any century and the invasions and conquests that happened. This guy thinks that he knows better than George Marshall and Dwight Eisenhower. This is what happens when you get someone with no foreign policy experience married to a big ego. apple.news/A-yOJ8xQRQwGI8QCl-ZRB8w

So the House actually accomplished something today. How about that! ABC NewsâŠ.. âBREAKING: The House has passed a series of foreign aid bills that include $60.8 billion in aid to Ukraine, $26.38 billion in aid to Israel, $8 billion in aid to the Indo-Pacific region, and a foreign aid bill that includes a TikTok ban provision. trib.al/wtjMZoEâ x.com/abc/status/1781748805269913618?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Volodymyr ZelenskyyâŠ.
âI am grateful to the United States House of Representatives, both parties, and personally Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track.
Democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to protect it. The vital U.S. aid bill passed today by the House will keep the war from expanding, save thousands and thousands of lives, and help both of our nations to become stronger.
Just peace and security can only be attained through strength.
We hope that bills will be supported in the Senate and sent to President Bidenâs desk. Thank you, America!â

Anyone who votes âpresentâ in Congress is a coward and doesnât belong in Congress. IMO.
The RecountâŠ
â311-112-1: House votes to send $60B in aid to Ukraine, including replenishing the U.S. weapons stockpile previously depleted by the war.
More Democrats (210) voted for the GOP bill than Republicans (101).
112 Republicans voted âno,â while Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA) voted âpresent.â

Well MTG had a lot more to say... Complaining about some members waving the Ukrainian flag on the house floor.. remember she has no issues what the insurrectionists did on the House floor, climbing all over, sitting in the Speakers chair, nor even counting defecating/urinating all over the Capitol.. youtu.be/1cGRFEF7zCM?feature=shared

Another comment about the Ukrainian flags. The were small, maybe 5"x 7" if that. Speaker Johnson admonished the wavers, saying that there should only be one flag waved on the house floor.
He also seems to have approved the past waving of the confederate flag in the Capitol!!

Poor MTG is having a tough week. Just yesterday, she got schooled by Dr. Timothy Snyder, history professor at Yale. This was from The Lawrence O'Donnell show last night. It has audio only; introduction is at 27 min 29 seconds, Dr. Snyder speaks at 27:46. A good call-out for those who seem to be on Putin's side these days. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ_prQLjEZw

saying the quiet part out loud. Nothing about his views is defensible. civil rights actBiden-Harris HQ @bidenhqTop Trump advocate Charlie Kirk calls for repealing the Civil Rights Act of 1964www.wired.com/story/charlie-kirk-tpusa-mlk-civil-rights-act/How Charlie Kirk Plans to Discredit Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Act Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk is preparing to launch a campaign against MLK and the landmark civil rights law he helped enact. I have a very, very radical view on this, but I can defend it, and Iâve thought about it,â Kirk said at America Fest. âWe made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.â
Kirk argues that the Civil Rights Act, which bars discrimination on the basis of race, ushered in a âpermanent DEI-type bureaucracy,â referring to diversity, equity, and inclusion. He illustrated how the law has gone wrong when responding to a question from a student who said they became the subject of a Title IX investigation after posting an Instagram story mocking transgender people. Title IX, which was passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972, bans schools that receive federal funding from discriminating on the basis of sex. King was assassinated four years prior, in 1968.
âThe courts have been really weak on this,â Kirk told the America Fest crowd. âFederal courts just yield to the Civil Rights Act as if it's the actual American Constitution.â The law is ultimately a way to âre-found the countyâ and âa way to get rid of the First Amendment,â according to Kirk.
Kirkâs attempt to discredit civil rights law is an example of how âthe fringe moves to the center at the speed of lightâ in right-wing politics, says public policy scholar Jonathan Rauch.

Threats, just more threats from TFG.. Great give TFG Immunity as all presidents will have. Biden lock up TFG, his family and close associates. ASAP!!!!! Donald Trump on Saturday posted seven pages of social media rants about how he is "entitled" to full presidential immunity from all criminal charges, causing legal experts and political onlookers to rage over the messages. "IF THEY TAKE AWAY MY PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY, THEY TAKE AWAY CROOKED JOE BIDENâS PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY," Trump wrote in the first post on the subject Saturday. That stood out to former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance, who said, "My initial reaction is that this is dumb because Joe Biden doesn't need presidential immunity, he hasn't committed any crimes. But more properly read, this is a threat.""Trump is saying he will come after Biden if he's elected," Vance added. "He'll be a dictator in more than just day one." www.rawstory.com/trump-threat-immunity/

Charlie Kirk is an adult ... He is responsible for his own actions. He did not get this way without some assistance from his parents.. they should be so proud of the monster they have foisted on us and US! ***
He is also a flip flopping liar of convenience..... Kirk used to praise Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. prior to December 2023, variously calling him a "hero" and a "civil rights icon"; by December 2023 however, he began to have a negative assessment of King, using a speech at that year's AmericaFest to describe him as "awful [...] not a good person" and as someone who is admired only because he "said one thing he didn't actually believe". The speech also saw Kirk condemn the Civil Rights Act of 1964, calling its passage a "huge mistake" and alleging that it had created a "permanent DEI-type bureaucracy"; he also spoke of the Act as being something that "really weak" federal courts "just yield to [...] as if it's the actual American Constitution" and as having the supposed ultimate aim of "re-found[ing] the [United States] [...] get[ting] rid of the First Amendment".[58] In January 2024, Kirk said that a "myth" had been created around King which had "grown totally out of control" and that King was currently "the most honored, worshipped, even deified person of the 20th century" despite "most people" supposedly disliking him during his life. Responding to accusations by Malcolm Kenyatta that he was working to undermine King and the Voting Rights Act, Kirk called this claim "a lie" and "fear-mongering", and added that telling the "truth" about King "should not be trampling sacred ground" since he was "just a man [...] a very flawed one at that" and a "mythological anti-racist creation of the 1960s". Kirk later claimed to have "found the sacred cow of modern America" in criticizing King.[59]

25 years since Columbine and we haven't done anything substantial to make schools safer. We added school resource officers with mixed results. ColumbinePresident Biden. @potus Since Columbine, over 400 school shootings â from Newtown to Parkland to Uvalde â have exposed over 370,000 students to the horrors of gun violence.
Students across the country now learn how to duck and cover before they learn how to read and write.
This violence must end.
www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/04/20/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-25-years-since-the-columbine-high-school-shooting/
My Administration will continue taking action, but Congress must do their part. We need universal background checks, a national red flag law, and we must ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. We need Congress to do somethingâdo somethingâso that communities wonât continue to suffer due to the epidemic of gun violence.

As to school shootings. Kids today, as we know, are far more likely to be shot and killed in school, then my generation was to be bombed even though we were the first to duck and cover to hide under our desks or hide in the hallways.
Today is far more traumatic for kids going to school!!

Republicans' lack of self awareness is kind of astonishing. Sure, Mike Johnson is part of the Republican problem and will be partially responsible if Republicans lose the majority. But not for passing aid for Ukraine. The majority of Americans support that. Whoever Massie wants to nominate will only make things worse for the Republicans. I think Massie and other MAGA Republicans live in their own insulated bubbles and are clueless about what the majority of Americans think. RepublicansRepublicans against Trump. @rpsagainsttrump GOP Rep. Thomas Massie: âMike Johnson is giving Americans no reason to put Republicans back in the majorityâŠHeâs going to lose his seat sometime this yearâ

He also seems to have approved the past waving of the confederate flag in the Capitol!! Exactly. If only those objecting to the Ukrainian flags had the same outrage over Trump, mAGA and confederate flags. Apparently, it's OK if you're a Republican but not OK for Democrats. Kind of like McConnell complaining about Senate traditions and procedures after breaking all kinds of them by not allowing a vote on Merrick Garland. OK for him to break traditions and procedures, but not OK for Democrats. flags
Jo @jojofromjerz The same Republicans feigning outrage over the Ukrainian flag appearing in a chamber of Congress were completely fine with Trump, MAGA and Confederate flags being used to attack our Capitol police on January 6th.

If Nunes is really this clueless about how Trump's stock was seriously overvalued to start, his stock is going to continue to tank. NunesMichael Steele. @michaelsteele When you (a) are in business with Donald Trump and (b) apparently are clueless as to why that business is losing money [see (a)] you say sh*t like this...
Ron Filipkowski. @ronfilipkowski Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes says he has hundreds of thousands of smaller MAGA investors in Trump Media, and they are calling him asking why the stock is tanking, so he filed a complaint with the SEC and says Biden is conspiring with Wall Street bankers to screw him.
